I’ve never seen or tasted this fruit before. 

I was tempted to by it but decided not to in case it was under ripe,

as was my experience with another fruit I bought at the same store.  

Is anyone familiar with this fruit?

Recently, I’ve been eating certain vegetables that I never ever liked before.   First, Brussels sprouts and now radishes.  Oh, my gosh!  What’s the world coming to, folks?  It must be a cold day in Hell and the Devil’s wearing a fur coat.   But seriously.  I love Brussels sprouts and now, I find that I love radishes.  

I’m not sure what happened.  Not sure how I went from disliking radishes to loving them, but  some time ago, I made a salad that included radishes.  I liked its fresh clean, slightly peppery taste.   The radishes seemed to enhance the flavor of other salad ingredients.  Since that mouth-watering-salad-with-radishes experience, I’ve been eating them almost daily.  

I decided to look up the health value of radishes and learned that they are a good source of vitamin C and contain large amounts of minerals like iron, iodine, sulphur, calcium, magnesium, potassium and folate.   Who knew you could get such a nutritious value from these small, attractive, red balls!?

I normally add radishes to my salads or I prepare them with a little salt and olive oil.   I should probably look for other recipes to prepare radishes but for now this is the way I like to eat them.  If you have a favorite way to prepare radishes, please feel free to share them with me.
