If you’re bored this summer and need something to do to get out of the heat, head out of your apartment near downtown Dallas and go to the Latino Cultural Centerfor some fun summer events.  Here are a couple of things the center has coming up this summer.

• Song and Dance: Los Pieneros de la 21 is being held on June 16.  Head out of your apartment near downtown Dallas to catch this song and dance concert at 8 p.m.
• American Sabor: Latinos in U.S. Popular Music is an exhibition at the Center which explores different types of music from the 1940′s to the present.  It’s a traveling exhibit that shows how Latino musicians have influenced all types of music.  It’s running until June 17.
• The Center is located close to your apartment near downtown Dallas, so don’t miss Hecho en Dallas.  This is an exhibit that happens every year and shows off the artwork of local artists.  This will run from June 28 to August 1, so don’t miss it!

The AT&T Performing Arts Center in Dallas is offering free outdoor concerts this spring – sweet!  These picnic-perfect concerts take place at The Center at Sammons Park, and best of all, Dallas food trucks will roam the area with their oh-so-delicious street grub.  So go ahead, get outside this spring to enjoy one of the city’s free, entertaining events near your Dallas apartment.

The first Patio Sessions happened yesterday, but you can catch four more free concerts this May every Thursday.  The band lineup includes:

• On May 10, see Chris Johnson, a member of the popular band Telegraph Canyon, perform with Ryan Thomas Becker.
• On May 17, you can see People on Vacation with Jake Mai.
• On May 24, the Dallas String Quartet will entertain you with classical music, as well as contemporary songs.
• Finally, on May 31, end the month of free live music with Salim and The Travoltas performing with Rahim Quazi.

Tons of food trucks will frequent the events, including Little Vessel, Easy Sliders, Jack’s Chowhound, and many more.  Check the website to see which specific days you can find your favorite food truck there.

Make La Grange your new "swanky" hangout in Dallas.

With the spring and summer months in full swing, concert season is fast approaching.  So no matter the kind of music you like, there is an act at the La Grange you’re sure to love.  So come on down from your apartment near downtown Dallas and check out everything the venue has to offer.  There is a show almost every night of the week, so whatever day you have an open evening, you can see a new act.

This weekend, you’re looking at a packed night of music with admission at just $5-6.  Friday, indie rock band Spook Easy perform at La Grange for their album release party.  They’ll be joined by the Sealion rockers and Burgess Meredith.  Come back for more live music on Saturday with hardcore punk rockers Akkolyte, Dead Line, Guiso, and Volksstrum.

If you are looking for something to dance the night away to, you can always get out of your apartment near downtown Dallas and stop by the La Grange on Wednesdays and Thursdays to dance to DJ Johnny Tight Pants.  This is sure to get you dancing from head to toe to a variety of music and is a great place to meet people after work, if you can’t get your friends to get out of their apartment near downtown Dallas to meet you.

Teach your dog basic commands or more advanced agility skills with DAWG.

Treat your pet to some agility classes located close to your pet-friendly Dallas apartment.  These classes are sponsored by DAWG, which is the oldest agility club in the country.  They help dogs train in preparation for competitions as well as just have an enjoyable experience and a lot of fun.
