Tommie Sunshine’s new single ’5AM (A Girl Like You)’ as been remixed by just about everybody in the business it’s almost hard to find the original. The track featuring Oh Snap!! now has a video!

Remember all those Tommie 5AM remixes? This is what he must have been thinking about.

Robyn dropped her long awaited 5th studio album Body Talk Pt. 1 in June. One of the finest electronic-pop albums ever forged in my opinion and the first single, ‘Dancing On My Own’, is just the tip of that iceberg.

The original (video below) produced by Patrik Berger has so much energy for an emotional break-up sorta song but Chew Fu’s take on it just lights me right up. Chew’s slow and rolling synth lines have an eerie tone, but at the same time creates a powerfully epic end-of-the-night feeling that washes completely over you at 130dB. Chills every time.

As an honorable mention to another amazing producer, the Rex The Dog remix of ‘Dancing On My Own’ is also very good. For those of you who know Rex, this remix is exactly what you’d expect. Lots of older synths being put to use with that familiar rolling kickdrum, accents Robyn’s voice awfully well. This remix ended up being on the second release of the Dancing On My Own EP so it’s only a stream here. Go buy it.

Kaskade dropped his new album Dynasty earlier this year with singles slowly leaking off it. First was ‘Dynasty’ featuring Haley (check the video here) but didn’t dig it all that much. It fits in with a lot of generic house tracks that are fun to play but just aren’t really anything super special.

‘Fire In Your New Shoes’ on the other hand doesn’t suffer from this for three reasons:

1) The video is way better.
2) The production moves away from cheesy house to indie-remix.
3) Replaced the cheese-house vocalist with Martina of Dragonette.

I’d like to introduce you all to a close friend of ours and a member of the Docksta movement: Ean Skizzle. I met this guy a few years ago at a part-time job. On his first day we were shooting the shit about hobbies and when I mentioned DJing and the radio show he lit up and told me about his DnB mixing of yesteryear. We became friends and soon enough he was a regular contributor on our live shows.

A lot has happened in those few years. Due to what I perceive our influence, Skizzle slowly moved toward the dance music we embraced discovering new sub-genres that fit his taste. He’s evolved further now as a full fledged producer and no longer just a DJ, and we’re proud to bring you his first real release today: ‘Dibby Dibby.’

‘Dibby Dibby’ is a darker track that echoes Ean’s DnB roots utilizing deep bass and complex drum patterns along with soothing strings, Caribbean vox and a hint of space.

The release has already received attention from Barletta who threw together a remix with his band Easy as well as another Canadian hopeful Big Blocks.

It’s been awhile since Diddy has done anything substantial. Since his last album Press Play Sean has formed Dirty Money — a hip hop collaboration featuring two ladies moving towards an “electro-hip-hop-soul funk” sorta sound. The third single off Last Train To Paris, ‘Hello Good Morning’ is by far the best.

Produced by Danja and Timbo in tandem, ‘Hello Good Morning’ sports a heavy club oriented electronic sound with the usual iconic hip hop bass n drums. The original bill featured Rick Ross and T.I. as featured artists, but the remix (video above) rocks Nicki Minaj over T.I.

I’ve been living under a mainstream hip hop rock recently and have completely passed over Nicki in the past but it’s her that really grabbed my attention in this remix. Not only is she stupid gorgeous but something really truly interesting to come out of the female emcee scene — singing, rapping and just so, so, weird.

It didn’t take long for Edmond Huszar to being pumping out the gems. Just 5 days ago OVERWERK released his promo video which got all of us here pretty excited. Being big fans of The Girls Can Hear Us! it’s only natural that we’d follow Edmond on his solo venture religiously.

As of yesterday we got our hands on the ‘Introducing OVERWERK’ track used in the video, a new compilation with friend DJ Mateus and a remix of Mr. Hudson feat. Mr. West.

All are brilliant.

Veeman Janssen is Instant Replay’s latest signing. They represent “Dutch Touch” — the Dutch take on a familiar French sound. There’s a little bit of confusion going on in the internets as to who is responsible for this group and the name of their first single, Put The Freeze On (or possibly ‘Put The Flage On’).

Flage might sound familiar to some people out there, perhaps as the title to Le Le’s 2008 album. Word is the production duo behind Le Le is responsible for ‘Put The Freeze On’ — one extremely gorgeous disco track.

Got some new stuff from a producer or producers by the name of Wira. Got turned on to them through our email and by the fact that it’s really familiar to Ean Skizzle’s stuff.

‘Animals’ is a dark and bassy track borrowing elements of dub and reggae that makes for an interesting and possibly mellow club experience.
