A’ Design Awards & Competition - Winners

A’ Design Award & Competition, one of the World’s largest and most diffused international design awards announced results of the 2022 - 2023 design competition: 1884 Winners from 114 countries in 139 different design disciplines. Entries were carefully evaluated by an internationally influential jury panel composed of established scholars, prominent press members, creative design professionals and experienced entrepreneurs who devoted great care and attention to details while voting each entry.

A’ Design Competition results are announced every year on April 15. Best products, projects and services worldwide that demonstrate superior design, technology and creativity are rewarded with the A’ Design Award; the symbol of excellence in design and innovation. There are five different levels of distinction: Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze and Iron A’ Design Awards are distributed annually in all design disciplines. Designers, companies and institutions from all countries are annually called to take part in the accolades by nominating their best works, projects and products for award consideration.

In California, cannabis edibles are big business. Yet all the brands in the category look the same – either following the cheesy ‘stoner’ tropes or opting for an ‘old fashioned boiled sweet’ style aesthetic in an attempt to seem credible. This brand was all about intrigue and escapism so, using the name as a springboard, we created a playful narrative thread to run through everything.

We tapped into the nostalgia of brands we grew up with and loved as kids and reinvented them to suit adults today, encouraging people to find their Goldmine – whatever that means to them. Inspired by the world of cosmetics, we created a whole host of branded displays to inject some much-needed excitement into the in-store experience.

Alec’s Ice Cream is the first of its kind – regenerative A2 milk that’s good for the planet and tummies. They came to Hatch because their pack and mission were getting lost on shelf. We set out to educate and delight consumers, all while highlighting their ice cream that was out of this world delicious. We might say the result was super*naturally good!

Hatch used playful illustrations to exude a magical flavor sense, and textured layers speak to the regenerative soil. The bright colors are hopeful, with fun and inviting typography. The photography (by RC Rivera) features decadent flavor combinations and showcases the premium texture. When you bring it all together, it’s a show-stopping brand.

Saintlo is a hostel organization with two main destinations and five collectives located along the Saint-Laurent River in Canada. It is part of the international youth hostel movement, originally created to fulfill an educational and social mission under the principle that travel shapes youth.

Saintlo evokes the adventure and discovery of a territory, its communities, and cultures, as well as openness to the world and its welcoming nature. The visual identity highlights the unique character of each property, promotes local attractions, and asserts leadership in group lodging.

Onça is a brand of artisanal chocolate born and produced in the Shetland islands in Scotland. The name is of Portuguese origin and means jaguar. The brand was born with the aim of creating a more divine and luxurious experience using the vast flavours that cocoa from around the world can have, selecting the best local and international ingredients, to celebrate the diversity of its fruits.

They approached us with the challenge of developing the brand identity and packaging system for their first product, with the premise that there should be a clear representation of the strength and ferocity of the Jaguar.

Chocolate is a source of joy for many people, it is bought as a gift, as a gesture of love and as a symbol of indulgence. We incorporated these ‘seductive’ traits in the brand and product while conveying the strength and fearlessness of the Jaguar. We created a brand identity and packaging that represents the jaguar in its habitat, a visual route that begins with striking and vibrant colors to represent biodiversity and ends with the interior of the packaging representing the heart and interior of the jaguar and its habitat with both the aroma of intense chocolate notes and the feel of the embossed rosette motifs.

A’ Design Award & Competition is the world’s leading international annual juried competition for design. The A’ Design Accolades are organized in a wide range of creative fields to highlight the very best designers from all countries in all disciplines. The ultimate aim of the A’ Design Awards is to push designers, companies and brands worldwide to create superior products and projects that benefit the society. The A’ Design Competition aims to create incentives that ignite and reward creativity, original ideas and concept generation in all industrial sectors.

Every year, projects that focus on innovation, technology, design and creativity are awarded with the A’ Design Award. Deadline for submission is February 28 and results will be announced on May 1st.
