Venice Florida Luxury HomesVenice, Florida, is a coastal city, approximately an hour’s drive south of Tampa and two hours from Orlando.   Annual temperatures there  average between 50 to 91 degrees Fahrenheit, welcome news for those who wish to avoid ice, snow, and the other miseries of winter.   U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Places” report on Venice mentions, among other things, that it has a low crime rate and comprehensive health care.  (That the city is known as the “Shark Tooth Capital of the World” was the “fun fact”.  Fortunately, the  shark teeth on the beaches are prehistoric, so it’s been a very long time since they were attached to any sharks.)   The current population isn’t much over 20,000, which makes Venice a desirable home for those who appreciate small cities near larger ones.  If living on a barrier island wouldn’t appeal to you, don’t worry.  Venice has no barrier islands.
 
The seekers of a Venice FL luxury home to call one’s own (or one of one’s own) may choose among Venice beach properties, equestrian estates, inland housing, and Venice condominiums.  The available Venice condominiums range from one bedroom to four bedrooms.   The houses can be quite lovely, the kind to warm your heart whenever you see it and know it’s yours.  Yes, there are golf courses for those who can’t think of a more pleasant way to pass the daylight hours.  Anglers and boaters will naturally seek the waters, as well as beachfront property.
 
One of Venice‘s charms is its proximity to cities known for their attractions.  Orlando has Disney World and Universal Studios.  Sarasota has the famous St. Armand’s Circle for lovers of food and shopping.   There are also museums such as the Florida State University Ringling Center for the Cultural Arts, the Ringling Museum of the Circus, the Sarasota Classic Car Museum, the G. WIZ science museum, the South Florida Museum, and the Crowley Museum and Nature Center.  If you want to see modern shark teeth in living sharks, there’s the Mote Aquarium.  The Marie Selby Botanical Gardens are probably most famous for their orchids, but there are other plants to see.  There are more than fifty stained glass windows, as well as some interesting art made out of what is often termed “junk” or “trash” (including a unicorn made out of wire coat hangers) at the ex-centric Solomon’s Castle. 

Of course, Venice is not bereft of attractions of its own, such as its history museum.  You might be satisfied just to view the gorgeous scenery.
