What does the airplane do?

Having a father as an aircraft mechanic means you are going to have lots of airplane related gifts.

One of Chloe’s favorite toys is her airplane that she can remote control (on the ground, not flight). It makes cool airplane noises, and even says “I’m you’re captain, welcome aboard!” In Spanish and English! When you don’t play with it for a while, it says “hope we can play again soon, bye bye.” Chloe waves at it. So cute.

Another gift was an airplane fork. When we saw it, we thought it was the coolest feeding utensil ever. We’ve used it to “airplane feed her,” although we nerd it up sometimes and say “open up the cargo bay, crash landing. ” (Star Trek Voyager).. Anyways. We also do the traditional airplane noises.

Did you know that when Matt and I got married, during the cake cutting, my cousin shouted out “do the airplane!” So Matt and I fed each other cake doing airplane noises.

Yup, that’s Matt laughing at the genius idea from my cousin (it was actually, we were in an airplane hanger surrounded by airplanes, it made perfectly good sense).

I made the airplane noise first, as you can see, Chloe gets her stubbornness from her father when it comes to feeding. He is not opening up his mouth! BUT, my skills were so great, he finally took the cake.

Matt has lots of airplane noise practice, I’m sure he would tell you what kind of airplane noise he was making.

Well, I’m glad we could pass our awesome airplane noise feeding techniques to our 17 month old. Check her out!

Chloe woke up three times last night, so we are both exhausted. I decided to grab some coffee to bring to Matt at work. Jubilee and Chloe were the stars of the hangar. Chloe was shy at first, then she warmed up and ran around the hangar. Enjoy the airplanes and video of Chloe running.

As you know, we dedicated our daughter, Chloe Ava on Sunday, April 15, 2012 at The Oasis Church.

We know that there were many of you that wish that you could have been there to share this moment with us. Well, since teleportation is not yet available, we did the next best thing and got video of it!
