Week 4 on Nutrisystem #NSNation Program

This weekend I went on a little trip to the beach to hang out with the fam, and I knew I would be led into temptations of eating unhealthy if I didn't pack along my Nutrisystem food. We did end up going out to dinner at Sizzler and I made sure I checked over all the calorie information, as well as what I shouldn't and should stay away from there. Obviously the deep fried onion rings were a no-no at the salad bar area. So I decided to go with the unlimited salad and had everything that I could remotely think of as being healthy with about 2 tablespoons of ranch. For some reason they did not have light anything. I also ended up having grilled vegetables along with 1 Malibu chicken. Normally I would have ordered 2 before this diet, but I knew I needed to continuously control my portions in order to see results, plus, 1 of them was about 330 calories, so I figure adding in the salad and vegetables I am probably pushing around 500 or a little more for dinner. This was acceptable to me and was a much better option than putting in over a thousand calories a meal from a fast food restaurant. Have you seen their new menus with the calories listed beside them? Wow, that was a real eye opener for me. Now I know why I have gained 40lbs over the last 6 years.

The next day, we were all out shopping at the outlet mall and got a bit hungry, so we decided on the McMennamins there. I knew they would have options for me to eat without feeling guilty so I went ahead and tagged along. I ended up choosing the half turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread, which had purple onions, a slice of Swiss cheese, tomato, lettuce and a little bit of cranberry relish with a side salad. It was delish! I figured after getting home, my scale was going to read that I was a pound or two over, but I was wrong. I woke up to 1.6lbs loss for the week and I am thankful that my dedication to this has changed the way I think about food. I have the willpower to say no to greasy pepperoni pizza, even though it may be cheaper or taste better, but I will not sacrifice my body anymore to indulge in high calorie, bad food.

Have Dry Skin During the Winter?

Believe me, I know a thing or two about having dry skin, especially during the Winter months when the humidity is low. Often times when I put my makeup on, I will have leftover dry skin that screams hello, since it seems more profound. And then I have to scrub my face and restart the regimen all over again.

This time, I decided to try a different approach since the moisturizers and cleansers that I currently had were just not working.

I was browsing around on EdenFantasys like I usually do, and they happened to have a perfect moisturizer that doesn't contain any harsh chemicals and is made out of natural ingredients. I went with the Rose/Geranium scent since it was a scent I was familiar with. Sometimes its a bit scary to step out of the comfort zone, even when it comes to smells.

This moisturizer helped my skin tremendously in hiding the flakes when I wore makeup. I actually put a tad bit mixed in with my liquid cover up and it not only fixed the dryness, but allowed for perfect coverage too. It's a tad bit oily, so I recommend putting it on right before bed as your skin is more receptive to moisturizers at night time when it's renewing its cells while you're asleep.

Walgreens Prescription Savings Club

You probably remember me posting about Walgreens and the Express Scripts fiasco previously and how good of a deal Walgreens were offering to keep their members happy and satisfied. Even though, this deal isn't as good, its still a huge savings, especially if you need prescription medication filled all the time.

They are offering a special discount on annual memberships for their Walgreens Prescription Savings Club, which would be $35 a year for a whole immediate family, including: spouse, dependents 22 and younger, and pets! I have never seen a savings club include pets as a family member, so that is kind of neat. I might need to inform my mother of this since her pets always seem to be in some sort of trouble, whether it be getting in fights with other animals and or getting hit and injured by cars. This would save her tons!

If you're looking for an individual plan it would be $20 a year. So obviously the family plan is the better deal here.

How to Get Insanely Cheap Electronic Items

In order to get cheap electronic items, you'll need to become a member of the daily deal shopping website called NoMoreRack. At random times of the day, they will put insanity deals live on their site, which are bordered in the color purple so you know which are insanity, and those that are not.

They had just put a Samsung PL120 14MP Dual View Black Digital Camera with 5x Optical up for only $6.52! I tried to snag it but the darn captcha was wrong 3 times. Arg, I hate pesky captcha's. And it is now sold out.

Tips:
1. Become a Member and fill out all of your account information beforehand, including debit/credit card numbers. (you may have had to purchase an item previously for it to store your credit card number)

2. Stalk the Site during the whole day. (yes, time consuming, but if you really want it, you will do it to get it at a bargain.)

3. Refresh the site by hitting F5, instead of clicking with your mouse. This will allow you that extra second to click on the insanity deal instead. (install a firefox refresh plugin if you prefer that method)
