This week we have some interesting stuff. Again the difference between Analog and the Fantasy and science fiction is apparent. Analog really knew how to get more eyeballs on them. Also, for some reason my scanner hates Fantasy and Science fiction, they always come out blurry.

Reddit user yea1isallyou need posted this steapunk’d Xbox 360 on reddit yesterday. It refreshingly includes zero gears. For some reason this reminds me of megaman though and I don’t really know why.

In response, user Steampunk22 put up a pic of this fantastically done PS3. Both are fantastic examples of adding a unique and personal touch to your items. I freaking love it when people customize their stuff!

I dug into another box this week and found a whole collection of Fantasy and Science fiction from the 60s. For some reason my scanner made both of these blurry, I’m not sure. You can relax though, the face of the mysterious angel/dragon thing was blurry in the illustration, so you’re not missing out.

Turn up your speakers, or put in headphones and sit back to enjoy this fantastic video. I don’t know if you’d call it a “making of” as much as a music video but it is simply stunning. The mix of slow motion and timelapse are blended so well, you’re not always sure which you’re watching.

The footage was all taken at a ship building yard in Volgograd. You can see them doing all kinds of welding, grinding, lathing, and even just resting. It was so beautifully shot though, that it all just meshes perfectly.

Take a few seconds to soak in the fantastic artwork here. As I have said a thousand times, Analog really kept the illustration quality quite high through the years. The detail in these works is always astonishing, especially when comparing to galaxy or similar.

Itty bitty papercraft computer and plotter that actually work

This is one of the final projects resulting from an electronic media class at the School of Art and Design Offenbach. The students had to create functional paper computing devices and this one really stood out. It is a tiny plotter with a control panel and you can see the thing actually works!
