Hayden Panettiere Sees Red

It doesn't happen every day that two pretty celebs show up in our weekly fashion feed wearing dresses on a distinct theme—but that's exactly what happened this week, when one beautiful blonde went head-to-toe red in a long-sleeved, body-hugging, floor-sweeping gown...and then another showed up in a slightly less-formal take on the same hue and silhouette. But while one of them tickled our fancy, the other just cramped our style file. Who's this week's Style Superstar?

It's Hayden Panettiere! Hayden's long-sleeved take on the classic Greek goddess-style gown was described as "too nun-like" by some other fashion critics, but we dig its quirky appeal. The tomato-red color is great on Hayden, and makes the modest cut that much more interesting...and let's face it, the bright yellow clutch and sky-high python-print shoes make this a look that's much too fresh and wild for the nunnery. And while things got a little crazy from the back—the dress has a keyhole detail topped by a miles-long bow that reached nearly to her knees—the actress' big, confident smile goes to show that sometimes, the best fashion is also just for fun.

And our other lady in red? Erika Christensen, who wiggled her way into this ultra-glam long-sleeved look for the Costume Designers Guild Awards this week. And while the va-va-voom vibe of this body-hugging gown is perfect for the occasion, we can't help noticing that it fits more like a weak handshake. Erika's gorgeous figure is being showcased not at all by the saggy bodice and bunching across the hips. The biggest surprise? That not one of the costume designers on hand pulled her into the ladies' room for some lickety-split alterations.

Heroes Star Hayden Panettiere Planning Big Return to TV

Ali Larter and Milo Ventimiglia aren't the only super hero stars returning to TV. Yesterday it was announced that the former Heroes hunk is joining the upcoming TNT police drama L.A. Noir alongside Walking Dead actor Jon Bernthal. Larter also recently landed a starring role on the Fox spy pilot The Asset.

But guess which other Heroes hottie is planning a big small screen return?

"It's the middle of pilot season so I'm trying to figure out what I want to do," Hayden Panettiere told us at Vanity Fair and Juicy Couture's Vanities party in West Hollywood. "I've read a good ten [scripts] or so," she said. "I have an interest in comedy and drama. You're signing, potentially, your life away for six years to this show and to this character and to this family and you want to make sure you make the right decision."

Since Heroes, Panettiere has appeared in several film at TV roles, including Scream 4 and Lifetime's made for TV movie Amanda Knox: Murder on Trial in Italy, among others. This will be the first TV jobs for both Larter and Ventimiglia since their gigs on the super natural NBC series.

The 22-year-old actress, who will hit the big screen next in Carmel, picked up some organic goods at Whole Foods. Here’s the synopsis of Carmel, a drama set to be released in March: A teenager wanders into Carmel, California, where he is soon introduced to the art-forgery community. Earlier in the month, Hayden‘s parents filed for divorce – the two separated back in 2008 but just now filed papers to make it official.

Former Heroes star Hayden Panettiere played Amanda Knox, the American college student who was convicted of murdering her roommate, Meredith Kercher, in Amanda Knox: Murder on Trial in Italy. Knox was originally convicted of the crime but was later released, so Lifetime added a title card to the end of the movie and reaired it last fall.

Hayden’s mom Lesley recently filed for divorce, TMZ reports. Lesley’s estranged husband, Alan, was charged for striking Lesley in the face back in August of 2008; Lesley listed the date of separation as July of 2008. Hayden’s mom is seeking joint custody of 17-year-old Jansen, the couple’s minor child.

Hayden Panettiere's mother and father have officially headed to splitsville. Just a few years after Alan Panettiere made headlines for a domestic-violence incident with wife Lesley, she has filed for divorce from her hubby of 21 years, E! News has confirmed. So, what went down this time?

Specific details of the divorce are being kept under wraps, but Lesley did cite the popular "irreconcilable differences" explanation as the reason for the breakup in the papers filed Friday. In addition to asking the court to restore her legal name back to Lesley Rosalind Vogel, the former Heroes star's mom also requested joint legal and physical custody of their 17-year-old son, Jansen.

As far as that past domestic-violence incident, back in 2008, Alan was arrested at the family's West Hollywood home and was later charged with misdemeanor spousal battery. After pleading no contest, Hayden's father was placed on probation for two years, ordered to pay $400 to the state's domestic violence fund, and was made to enroll and complete a 52-week domestic violence treatment program.

The gorgeous female will come from a program that can be seen in gorgeous high-def that very day. Today's 'HD Hottie' is Hayden Panettiere who stars tonight in high-def in I Love You, Beth Cooper at 10 p.m. ET on FX.

The 22-year-old actress, who was born in Palisades, New York, started as a child actress in such daytime soap operas as One Life to Live and The Guiding Light. She quickly captured a few movie roles (A Bug's Life, Remember the Titans), but it was her casting as the cheerleader in NBC's Heroes that made her a star.

Since Heroes, Hayden has stretched her wings, cutting an album and taking a role in the movies When a Stranger Calls Back and I Love You, Beth Cooper. (The latter is now available on Blu-ray.)

Hayden returned for a fourth season of Heroes, but the show was cancelled in early 2010. Hayden has been keeping herself busy filming Scream 4, which is now on Blu-ray, and last year she starred as Amanda Knox, the college student convicted of murder in Italy but who was released recently.

Hayden Panettiere, award winning actor and vocalist, has been added to the Calgary Expo's growing roster of media and creator guests for the convention which runs April 27-April 29, 2012.

Hayden has performed in over 50 titles since the start of her acting career at the young age of 11 months. She is known primarily for her portrayal of Claire Bennet in Heroes, making the phrase, “Save the Cheerleader, Save the World” a household saying. Hayden also starred in the fourth installment of the comedic-horror Scream franchise as well as being the voice behind Dot in Pixar’s A Bug's Life.

She has won multiple awards including the Teen Choice Award which she received three consecutive years (2007-2009)for her work on Heroes. She was also the recipient of the 2001 Young Artist Award as the Best Supporting Young Actress for her role alongside Denzel Washington in Remember the Titans.

“Hayden's work is expansive,to say the least,”says Event Director Kandrix Foong. “She is a great example of young talent in the industry and she's become a very strong role model.”The attendance of Hayden at the Calgary Expo highlights the diverse nature of the show, as year after year the convention continues to expand its content to include elements that will excite enthusiasts of not only comics and science fiction, but also horror, gaming, family programming, animation and pop culture as a whole.

The Calgary Expo is a non-profit organization that showcases the incredible talent of comic creators, artists, actors, voice actors, musicians, writers and pop culture icons from all over the world. Founded in 2006, the convention has grown rapidly having hosted guests from every genre including William Shatner, Elvira: Mistress of the Dark, voice actor Vic Mignogna and Bruce Timm an Emmy award winning Batmanillustrator. The 2011 convention saw 30,000 attendees and is the 2nd largest convention of its kind in all of Canada.

Heroes cheerleader Hayden Panettiere coming to Calgary Comic Expo

“Save the cheerleader, save the world.” That cryptic phrase might just ring a bell because about three years you couldn’t turn on your television without hearing it. That’s back when NBC’s sci-fi drama Heroes, about a group of civilians with super powers, was all the rage. By 2010 the show had fizzled but by that point Hayden Panettiere (the show’s super powered cheerleader, of course) was a household name. Now, Panettiere (who also starred in Scream 4 and Pixar’s A Bug’s Life, as the voice of Dot) is coming to the Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo April 27 to 29 at the BMO Centre in Stampede Park. Other stars booked for the event include 1960s Batman Adam West, the original Nightmare on Elm Street Freddy Krueger, Robert Englund and James Marsters, better known as Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
