[ Note: This article was written by fitness and nutrition author Jon Benson. I have his permission to share it with you. ]

A few years ago I released a book whose title was more reminiscent of a line out of “There’s Something About Mary” than a serious work on fitness. “7 Minute Muscle” — yep, it’s getting more and more difficult to distinguish fact from parody.

Since that time its kissing cousin, “7 Minute Body”, has been released, featuring a complete in-home version of the same workout principles covered in 7 Minute Muscle, as found below:

7 Minute Workout Solution <--61%Off

Here’s the real irony: Of the 127 testimonials I’ve received so far that I deem worthy of publishing on the web, over forty were from fitness professionals. I’m not talking about “doctors” with a gut as large as their paycheck. I’m speaking of men and women with both academic and real-world experience in the fitness and bodybuilding world.

There were exceptions of course. My friend John Berardi, while saying some nice things about the work, couldn’t endorse it due to the emphasis on shorter training sessions. That’s cool. Everyone has a different approach. But the overwhelming number of folks with consonants behind their names — those who read the book and applied the principles — had wonderful things to say.

There’s a reason for that: The workout protocol is based on the science of hypertrophy as well as psychophysiology, the study of the mind/body connection.

I will delve into the mental aspects of the protocols in a later article. For now, since most of you are experienced, educated and (dare I say it) hard-core, let’s delve into the meat.

7 Minute Muscle (and 7 Minute Body) is primarily a density-based training system. It demands varying rep ranges done within specific time periods. The protocol factors six of the primary variables of hypertrophy, or muscle growth: Intensity, Load, Volume, Density, Time and Force. (Time includes rest intervals as well as the time required to perform a given task.)

A layman’s take on one of the basic laws of physics states that time and energy are interrelated. Doing the same amount of work in less time demands more energy, which translates into more power. While power is a factor in training, our interest is focused on forcing muscle growth and adaptation. This is also an element of time and energy. More energy expended in less time = more power.

If you break down the typical 3-4 set bench press routine, with reps starting at 12 and ending in the 4-6 range, with longer rest intervals between heavier sets, you’ll find that the aggregate weight lifted is “less” than a protocol like 7 Minute Muscle, which uses ‘less’ weight (easier on the joints) but demands more work in less time. In other words, X amount of repetitions done with Y amount of weight in just 5 minutes (phase 1 of our two-phase protocol) ends up being greater than your typical 3-4 set protocol, despite the fact that more weight is used in the latter.

Other routines, of course, utilize this factor of density. Vince Gironda’s infamous 8 sets of 8, EDT and so-forth. 7 Minute Muscle goes a bit further by varying rest, load factors and repetition range. Reps will vary from as low as one rep to as much as ten, and all of this is at the trainee’s discretion.

They have only one real objective: Increase the aggregate repetition count from one training session to the next. Since time is limited (broken down into two phases: A Power Phase of no more than 5 repetitions and a Mass Phase of no more than 10 repetitions) the trainee is given a system that more accurately measure the seventh and most crucial factor of hypertrophy: Progression.

More work in less time. Variable repetition ranges. Variable rest intervals. And all in seven minutes (for beginners.) Intermediate and advanced-level trainees are given 14 and 21-minute protocols if they wish to implement them. I myself rarely go beyond 14 minutes, as that is all that’s required to stimulate muscle growth.

I will cover health factors, cardiovascular work, ab training, and the science of mind and body in future articles. For now, give 7 Minute Muscle a shot. There’s nothing funny about it, except for the fact that you’ll be laughing all the way home from the gym as you finished your killer workout while your buddies were still warming up.

And, for this week only, you can get it at a 61% discount. You’ll get everything: 7 Minute Muscle (the gym-based workout) and 7 Minute Body (the in-home workout) plus the six training videos today for less than the cost of a cheap dinner.

It’s a system and a price that’s impossible to beat.

Go here now:

7 Minute Workout Solution <--61%Off

P.S. You’ll thank me later for the months of time I’ve given back to your life… not to mention that new body in the mirror.

Remember:

Train Hard. Train Smart. And Train Cheap…

7 Minute Workout Solution <--61%Off

A mental illness is a mysterious phenomenon that usually doesn’t have a cure. Most psychiatrists simply give their patients medicine that will relief their pain, without helping them get back their lost conscience. They don’t know how to restore the intelligence and the capacities of the people who suffer from mental health issues.

I’m not saying that they have not tried to find solutions, but unfortunately the problem is too complex and humanity is too ignorant in its whole. We are not able to cure many physical diseases, mental illnesses and mental disorders.

This sad reality has changed recently thanks to the extraordinary discoveries of the psychiatrist Carl Jung concerning the meaning of dreams, and also to my discoveries, after continuing his pioneer research in the unknown region of the human psyche.

Jung discovered that the unconscious mind that produces our dreams works like a psychiatrist and psychologist. All dream images contain precious messages that we have to translate in order to understand the unconscious guidance.

Jung was afraid to completely trust the unconscious mind because he didn’t know that all mental illnesses are originated by the anti-conscience, the wild and primitive side of the human conscience. I discovered the anti-conscience that he could not see. I concluded that the unconscious mind is wiser than what Jung had concluded.

By following the unconscious psychotherapy everyone is cured from all mental illnesses, mental disorders, or even physical diseases.

A mental illness is evoked by the invasion of the anti-conscience in the human side of our conscience. The anti-conscience starts destructing our capacity to judge reality through our human conscience. This means that we lose the ability to discern what is good from what is bad. We also lose contact with the external reality, becoming more insensitive to the world around us.

When we become mentally ill we lose our memory and our intelligence. We are not able to fully regain what we have lost.

The unconscious mind that produces our dreams is the only psychiatrist who can completely restore the conscience of schizophrenic, psychotic, and other patients who suffer from grave mental illnesses. Its psychiatry is based on:

1- Awakening the lost conscience of the patients by showing them the truth.

a. The patients analyze their own faults, understanding where they went wrong.

b. The patients analyze everyone else’s faults, understanding that other people are human beings like them.

c. The patients understand that they are responsible for their own suffering because they accepted doing what was bad. Or, they understand that their conclusions are wrong because they are judging their enemies without any compassion.

2- The unconscious mind then shows the patients that they have to forgive themselves and forgive everyone else as well, because the human being is in fact a primate who has a tiny human conscience. The wild anti-conscience that destroys the human side of our conscience is in fact responsible for all human sins.

3- The unconscious mind gives the patients a new life, after purifying their spirit through wisdom and goodness.

This is a process that takes time, depending on each case.

Depressed, bipolar and neurotic patients are easily cured through dream therapy because they didn’t completely lose their human conscience yet. Their treatment takes less than 8 months of psychotherapy.

Other patients delay getting help through dream therapy and restoring their mental health because their human conscience was already destroyed by the anti-conscience.

However, everyone finds peace, health, and happiness in the end, when they finally do embark upon the journey of self improvement through dream therapy.

[ Note: This article was written by fitness and nutrition author Jon Benson. I have his permission to share it with you. ]

Cancer sucks.

Think that’s a naughty thing to say?

Consider this:

I was speaking at a conference last week when I glanced out into the audience. I saw a muscular dude with a t-shirt that said, in huge letters no-less…

“F – - K CANCER.”

There were NO dashes in his version… that was added by me for your sake.

I mentioned from the stage that I loved his shirt. Sure, it was profane, but I hate cancer so much I didn’t care.

Afterwards we struck up a friendship. He was an Aussie rugby player and one super-nice guy. We hit the gym together and managed to come to agreement on the fact that American football is superior. (A bit of levity in an otherwise somber article never hurts, right?)

What perfect timing… his t-shirt, that is.

This week, it is ALL happening.

An unreal number of fitness professionals, including myself, are donating their time and energies into whacking this thing called cancer into submission.

We have put together some incredible gifts for you just for helping us out.

Go see what’s up…

http://www.fitprosagainstcancer.org/ <--- go here by ALL means!

Notice the “.org” … that’s because this is 100% for charity. Not one dime is kept. Proceeds all go to the American Cancer Society.

My good friend Scott Colby started this fundraiser when his uncle was battling for his life with the “C-word”… a battle, I’m sad to say, he lost last week. Our thoughts are with him.

But his fight was not in vain. His fight spurred this movement and my contribution, however silly or meaningless it may in fact be.

So here we go:

I have discovered the CURE for cancer.

CURE as in C.U.R.E.

“C” is the most important.

“C” is for CASH.

If we spent 1/10th of the money we spend on war and started dumping CASH into cancer rather than crude oil into the Gulf, we’d cure cancer in about as much time as it took me to write this article.

That was overly optimistic… but who cares. It’s the point that counts.

Let me lay it on the line for you… and if I lose subscribers for this, too freakin’ bad.

Right now Americans spend billions of dollars on pure junk food… and you Brits are not that far behind. British kids are gaining fat at nearly twice the rate of American kids, and our children are among the most obese in the history of HISTORY.

Fat kids usually, but not always, means fat parents… or lazy parents. Or both.

Again, shoot me. It’s the brutal truth.

Why does this matter?

It matters because the math, unlike the seriousness of this problem, is crystal clear. Americans alone spend $25 more per month on food than they need, and this was from a study done in 2009. The recent data is not even out yet.

$25 more than is necessary to sustain and nourish the bodies and minds of every member of a household of four.

And that $25 is spent entirely on junk food.

Note that this does not take into account eating out, something the average family does at least four times per week.

Let’s just be conservative and say we only waste $25 per family of four on food we do not need. Fair?

The population of The United States is a tad over 300,000,000.

Divide that by four.

That’s 75,000,000.

To be fair, this is not a perfect equation. I’ll deduct a reasonable percent from our total for a fudge (pun) factor.

Let’s run with 50,000,000. Nice, round, nifty number.

Multiply that by $25.

Total: $1,250,000,000 dollars.

PER MONTH.

Folks, that’s $15 BILLION dollars per year that could, in a perfect world, go to fight cancer. Or AIDS. Or education…

But let’s stick to cancer.

Want to know what we currently spend on cancer?

No, you really don’t. It’s not even close to that.

Now for the real sticker shock: Due to cancer-related illness, medical costs, insurance premiums, and loss of labor, cancer costs us $150 BILLION per year in economic loss.

QUICK: Name one company who is led by a human with a single brain cell who would NOT spend $15 billion to save $150 billion.

I’ll wait…

That’s what I thought.

Yep, the cure for cancer starts with CASH.

You can donate some here:

http://www.fitprosagainstcancer.org/ <--- go here by ALL means!

Let’s continue on…

“U” = UNDERSTANDING.

You have to understand your enemy in order to win a war.

Do me a favor: Go into a public place.

Look around.

One person in five that you see will die from cancer, and that’s if they’re lucky. The updated numbers are more like 1.3 in five, given our dietary and environmental decline.

If there was a terrorist threat that was announced on the news that threatened the lives about 50,000,000 Americans, how seriously would you take it?

Good. Now we understand the serious nature of this, one of nature’s most efficient and vile terrorists.

“R” = RESEARCH.

Cash alone is not going to cut it. Cash has to be funneled directly into research and not into some bureaucrat’s back pocket. The only way this is going to happen is when every single one of us gets pissed off enough to complain about it.

Remember, we still hold the power of the vote.

Vote smart, then stay on their ass… make them follow through.

Make your donation mean something by helping to ensure the organizations you donate follow through.

Finally…

“E” is for EMPATHY.

Empathy and sympathy are cousins, but they’re really not the kissing kind. One is visceral; the other emotional. To truly empathize with someone is a gift if you yourself do not have the problem or challenge the other is facing.

If you’re a victim, empathy comes easy.

For guys like me, one who has never truly faced this demon from the 7th Circle of Hell called “cancer”, empathy is difficult.

But I’m learning.

Really.

So can you.

I’m asking for your help today, but I’m giving you something valuable in return.

Please go see what we’ve done to make empathy a lot easier…

www.fitprosagainstcancer.org/ <--- go here by ALL means!

My thoughts are with each of you who have struggled with this disease and/or lost loved ones to it.

My dreams are firmly fixed on a CURE within my lifetime.

And by CURE I mean the real thing… not just a pithy little acronym scribbled by a fitness author while listening to Guns-n-Roses a bit too loud.

I jest… GnR can never be too loud.

Let’s get to the cure, folks.

http://www.fitprosagainstcancer.org/ <--- go here by ALL means!

Ok, so you have been working out for some time now. Building lean muscle but you still have a layer of fat that is surrounding your muscles. It’s time for a cutting phase workout. You want to enhance your natural bodybuilding by introducing a new cutting phase workout into your routine. But how are you going to do this?

Special note; this article is for individuals looking to cut body fat, not pro bodybuilders looking to cut for a competition.

Let’s start by looking away from the actual workout a bit. We need to focus on your diet a bit. For this phase of your life it is important to understand that you need to cut down on your carbs and fat intake a bit. I generally recommend an approximate 40/40/20 (protein/carbs/fats) split on every meal except for the post workout meal. At this point I truly recommend 60 protein 30 carbs 10 fats.

For the natural bodybuilding enthusiast you should still be taking some creatine and some whey powder. Your goal is to lose weight and it is very difficult to do this while you are maintaining muscle mass. It is especially important not to lose all your gains along the way.

Ok lets get to the cutting phase workout. You should be still doing all muscle training that you have done in the past. The difference now is that you will lower the weight a bit and make sure you are pumping out 10-12 reps for each workout.

On top of that ensure that you are doing a bunch of interval fitness training on your non-strength training days. Its not enough to do normal cardio at this point, this is because during normal cardio your body will be converting your muscle to fuel. You can lessen this dramatically by switching over to interval fitness training not just for your cutting phase workout but also for your maintaining workouts and your building workouts.

Natural bodybuilding is a special thing, basically making your body everything you can without using steroids and many of the laxatives and other weight loss pills that help cut. Continue this cutting phase for up to 12 weeks, it is obviously important not to just do the same workout, but switch it up. Just ensure that you are doing weight training and interval fitness training. Check out www.internethealthandfitnessdatabase.com for more information.

Once you are done the cutting phase of your workout its time to look at yourself in the mirror. First pat yourself on the back because you have probably dropped 7-10% body fat. Now decide if you like what you see and want to maintain, or if you are interested in building again. If the answer is to build again, it will be easier to cut again next time. Every time you start a cutting phase workout it gets easier your body will now understand what it is going to do, and your mind will come to expect what is upcoming.

Did you read the news?

A few days ago CBS broke the story on a new and shocking journal article.

Naturally they only told half the story.

To save your life (literally) I’ll tell you the half they left off.

First: I have some big news:

Jon Benson’s book “7 Minute Body” (also called “7 Minute Muscle”) is on sale for 61% OFF for the next 7 days.

He does a yearly promo for the book in July (the 7th month… go figure!) as a bit of help for my readers who want the books and the 6 videos that come with it (online) but need a break on the price.

The page with the discount is here:

http://bit.ly/8Y2x3A <—click-here

After you read this newsletter you will want to click that link super-fast… believe me…

Now, the story:

Headline:

“Sitting At Work Ruins Any Benefits Of Workouts”

Sub-headline:

“Risk of death not decreased if you work out but

SIT for 6 hours a day or more, researchers say”

There’s a kernel of truth to this… but a lot of falsehood.

Researchers reported their findings of a 14-year male and female-based study on exercise, sitting down while working or watching TV for more than 6 hours a day, and mortality rates in the American Journal of Epidemiology.

The study was long, detailed, and rather shocking to say the least as far as the results go:

Exercising the way most people exercise did

NOTHING to prevent early death from heart

disease if individuals sit for more than 6 hours

per day.

And most Americans sit for about 11 hours… yikes.

So, throw away your workout gear and toss your gym membership in the garbage if you have a desk job… right?

Not so fast.

Here’s the part the news folks failed to cover:

This research never took into account NUTRITION

or workout plans less than 24.5 MET-hours per week.

The first bit you know all about: Nutrition.

If you read Jon’s newsletters, you know how to eat… but 90% of the people involved in this study probably did not.

It’s highly (in fact, dangerously) doubtful that they were…

1. Eating low-starch meals at least 3-4 days per week;

2. Consuming healthy sources of lean protein at each meal;

3. Consuming healthy fats;

4. And using sugars and starchy carbs only at specific times
as Jon teaches in “The Every Other Day Diet.”

The study only briefly mentions that the subjects ate a “normal diet”… and that could mean anything.

Let me make this clear:

Exercise ONLY works if you have a dietplan that works.

So if you are NOT eating correctly, then yeah… toss the gym membership in the garbage. It will do you little if any good except help you blow off some steam.

However, there’s another VERY important part this study missed.

This part:

“Less than 24.5 MET-hours per week of exercise.”

What the heck does that mean?

“MET” stands for Metabolic Equivalent of Task. This is the energy and oxygen required by the body in the form of exercise to do a specific task as compared to the body at rest.

The body at rest has an MET of 1, roughly speaking.

The exercise performed by the study group was your typical 5-6 day per week bout of running or perhaps some other form of cardio. Weight training? Sure, the old way… with an MET of 4 (i.e. lift, rest, chat on the phone, lift… repeat.)

Now, are you ready for this?

Jon’s style of training, “7 Minute Body”-style, Phase 2 to be specific, has an MET of about 12. TWELVE. And that is two 7-minute bouts, totaling 14 minutes flat in the gym (or at home.) This is done 4 days per week.

He simply follows that by either GXP cardio and brisk walking at least 5 days per week. The walking takes about 50 minutes; the GXP only 9.

That’s IT… and he is a fitness guy… you know, magazines… photo shoots… competitions? Yeah. That kind of fitness guy!

The funny thing is that ANYONE using Phase 2 (and there are grandmothers using it) will have the same MET ranking.

And my MET-hours per week? 32!

This is WELL over and above the average person who is working out LONGER, but not SMARTER.

That’s the key behind the 7MB and 7MM Systems… SMART training, but BRIEF training for maximum muscle shape and definition.

And, if Jon’s health is any indication, the program solves the sitting problem nicely.

He told me he sits at least 12 hours a day. He works at a computer (all sitting) and relaxes at night (usually sitting).

But his intense workouts solve the problem sitting causes… and his nutrition plan takes care of the rest.

So now you can do the same… and this week only (the next 7 days) you can do it for 61% off.

Just go here:
