Speidi have revealed why they keep their large gun collection at their LA home. It was during Channel 5's Speidi: Scandal, Secrets and Surgery documentary, that the reality star couple decided to show off their firearms collection.

Now Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt have opened up about why they feel so unsafe in their California beach home. Spencer reveals: "I only really feel safe when we’re at home protected with our firearms. I don’t want to be the person without one on our private property."

"A few years ago we were targeted by a celebrity gang who were robbing the biggest stars in Hollywood," he added. And Spedi also revealed how they found out . He continued: "When the police caught them, they said they backed out of attacking our house because they knew we were firearms owners and they were deterred by that because they knew we could defend ourselves."

Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt Flaunt Gun Arsenal In New Documentary

Some might argue that Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are the two best reasons for harsher gun control legislation. Montag and Spencer showed off their arsenal of guns during a portion of their new documentary for the U.K.'s Channel 5, titled "Speidi: Scandal, Secrets & Surgery!"

The couple known as Speidi flaunted a collection of more than six firearms -- including an FBI sniper rifle, a Benelli semi-automatic shotgun and a rapid engagement precision rifle -- while filming the special inside their Santa Barbara, Calif., beach house, according to The Sun.

"I want to share something with you that I know, unfortunately, you cannot possess in your amazing country," Pratt tells Channel 5. "So, I will let you have a glimpse at the amazing laws of America."The reality star's wife then goes on to take out her favorite rifle and discuss how much she loves guns and shooting.

"This is one of my favorite activities," Montag says. "It gives me a new sense of self every time I do. It makes me feel proud to be an American." She adds, "I'd like to say something about guns as well. I think it is one of the greatest rights to be an American. I personally didn't feel safe especially with crazed fans out there and stalkers. If somebody broke into our home, I think this is the only thing that would actually save my life."The two "Celebrity Big Brother" contestants, who have been described as "the most reviled" in the show's history, reportedly received death threats because of their behavior on the series. Montag and Pratt's comments about guns were met with backlash. Peter Squires, professor of criminology and public policy at Brighton University, expressed his outrage to the Daily Star.

“With the recent shooting deaths of model Reeva Steenkamp and country singer Mindy McCready, the dangers of keeping guns at home are all too obvious," he said via the Daily Star. "The suggestion by Speidi is crass attention-seeking behavior. Let’s face it, neither of them were near the front of the queue when brains, decorum or thinking skills were being handed out.”

Guns have actually landed the former MTV stars, who claimed to have blown through $10 million anticipating the Mayan apocalypse, in trouble before. Back in 2010, Pratt and Montag were detained for illegal arms possession at a Costa Rica airport after security guards found two unloaded handguns in their luggage, the Associated Press previously reported. Pratt was on a jungle retreat at the time and brought the 9MM and 45MM handguns with him for protection. He neither declared them nor had a permit to carry them in the country.

Reality TV stars Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag frittered away more than $1 million on designer clothes and handbags in a desperate bid to become the new Beckhams. The former “The Hills” stars ended up broke after blowing a massive $10 million, fearing they had to spend money before the Maya-predicted Apocalypse in December.

The couple has now opened up about how they managed to lose so much cash, revealing they spent a fortune on designer clothes, private jets and gold bars to hand out to their friends, as well as $3,200 bottles of wine, penthouse hotel suites, security guards, make-up artists and stylists. Pratt even bought a $96,000 rock to decorate their home as the pair desperately tried to set themselves up as rivals to superstar showbiz couple David and Victoria Beckham. He tells Britain’s OK! magazine, “I bought a £60,000, 1,500 lb quartz crystal from a volcano in Peru – I needed a crane to put it in our house. In hindsight, that was a little excessive. … When we came into all this money, we just couldn’t spend it fast enough. I just lost the plot. … When you start buying people cars and you’re not David Beckham, you’re heading for trouble. …

“I spent over a million dollars on men’s clothing because I wanted people to take me seriously as an A-lister. I wanted to be in the fashion magazines alongside Brad Pitt.”Montag adds, “I grew an obsession with Hermes Birkin handbags. They were like £13,000 each. I had wardrobes full. But we wanted to keep up with the Beckhams. I love Victoria’s style.”They also lost $2 million by setting up their own record label to launch Montag’s flop singing career.

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, the terribly shy couple that came to prominence on MTV’s series The Hills, are now claiming that they wasted $10 million because they believed the Mayan Apocalypse would occur Dec. 21, 2012.

Pratt resisted his natural impulse to eschew publicity and told OK! the whole, unvarnished truth:
We made and spent at least 10 million dollars. The thing is, we heard that the planet was going to end in 2012. We thought, we have got to spend this money before the asteroid hits. Here’s some advice, definitely do not spend your money thinking asteroids are coming. But the world didn’t end. I would give my friends $15,000 for their birthday. Just cash. I would buy people cars. Every valet I met got a couple of hundred pounds tip. I would pay people $200 just to open doors for us.

Pratt and Montag were dragged, kicking and screaming, to admit further details of their profligate spending to the Mirror, such as buying an armored truck and designer handbags. Pratt once said, "We love each other but I'm a fame whore and I'll never grow out of it. [Heidi] knows that and doesn't want that ... I want every kind of press.”

No one ever thought reality TV lifers Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag were going to be inducted into MENSA or solve the Yang-Mills existence and mass gap, but their latest admission is embarrassing even for them.

Simply put, the Hills stars casually blew through their entire reality show fortune because they believed the world would end on December 21, 2012. "We made and spent at least $10 million. The thing is, we heard that the planet was going to end in 2012," Pratt explained to Britain's OK! magazine. "We thought, 'we have to spend this money before the asteroid hits.''

Most people wouldn't make important financial decisions based on Mayan predictions from thousands of years ago, but then again, not everyone lives the "carpe diem" lifestyle like Speidi. Unfortunately, they're broke now, which explains why they're back on reality circuit (this time on the U.K. version of Big Brother).

One thing's for sure: You were probably pretty lucky if you ran into Pratt and Montag anytime between 2010 and 2012. "I would give my friends $15,000 for their birthday. Just cash," Pratt revealed. Celebrity Big Brother' couple Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag have revealed they want to move to the UK and star their own family in the British countryside. Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag want to move to Britain and start a family.

The couple - collectively known as 'Speidi' - have fallen in love with the UK since flying over to appear on reality TV show 'Celebrity Big Brother' and have hinted they may settle down and start a family in the British countryside.

Speaking about her admiration for Duchess Catherine - previously known as Kate Middleton - Heidi said: ''I could totally live here. We didn't like the boring British people we were in the house with but since we've been out we've really fallen in love with the country. ''I want to be posh like Princess Kate or Victoria Beckham.''Heidi, 26, admits having children would be ''a dream'', but the couple - who have been married for four years - have put off starting their own family because Spencer, 29, is not yet ready.

Heidi told the Daily Star newspaper: ''For me, having children is the greatest experience in life but Spencer doesn't want them. My priority is my husband so now I choose our life instead of that experience.''However, Spencer may be softening towards the idea, revealing: ''I think we could well end up having children, and they could be born in Britain. When Heidi keeps saying to me, 'Ooh, I love you', it's hard not to give in.

''Right now with the economy in a state it's not the best time. It's a challenge for us to even have good dinners and a good life. My sister is still helping out my sister, who is 30 years old has kids. Things will be different when I can secure the future for us.''

Reality Tv stars Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt feared for their lives on U.K. show Celebrity Big Brother as they were convinced their fellow housemates were planning to kill them as they slept. The couple gave up their privacy last month (Jan13) to appear on the series, alongside other famous faces including model Paula Hamilton and singer Claire Richards.

The stars finished second in the final on Friday (25Jan13), but Pratt now admits they spent their time in the under-surveillance house constantly worried about their safety following a series of bust-ups with their housemates. He tells Britain's Daily Star Sunday, "We didn't sleep much at all. I always had one eye open. We were watching them thinking they were going to try and kill us in our sleep.

"We were constantly nervous something might happen. Every time we saw any of them near knives we left the kitchen straight away. "Some of them would itch their own face with a butcher's knife - it was mentally insane. If they'll hold knives by their own faces I didn't know what they were capable of."Montag adds, "They were at such an intense level in the house, we thought they would come and mess with us. Who knows what they would do?

"At times they were very volatile, easily triggered and they had violent tendencies. I thought we would have to run to get away from it. I didn't want to get into a fight at all costs."

Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt Death Threats: 'Celebrity Big Brother' Stars Receive Nothing But Hatred (REPORT)

America's pride Heidi Montag, 26, and Spencer Pratt, 29, are causing more than a stir on the U.K.'s "Celebrity Big Brother." Apparently, they're so rude and mean to all the other contestants that they're actually getting death threats.

"The American couple have become the most reviled contestants in the history of the show and Big Brother chiefs will ensure they get close protection from minders when they eventually exit the house," reports Daily Star.

According to the tabloid, the pair commonly known as Speidi "have mocked the other contestants, argued with them and refused to join in tasks to get rewards." They have also engaged in some X-rated action on air, making many uncomfortable. After yesterday's episode, many of the show's fans in the U.K. took to Twitter to express their grief, using harsh words such as "kill" and "death" in relation to the controversial twosome.

Though enough of a scare in and of itself, Speidi's gun-loaded photo shoot might actually make things worse. The two NRA enthusiasts "have built up an arsenal of weapons and have also rented many firearms," reports Daily Star, "including an M16 semi-automatic rifle, a .44-calibre Ruger revolver and a .45mm-Glock pistol." In said photo shoot, conducted in Los Angeles, the two stars show off their rifling skills.

They were always so sensitive to others. This is quite an interesting turn of events, since less than two weeks ago the married couple -- who have received $500,000 for their participation in "Celebrity Big Brother" -- were winning over the fans with their conniving ways. “No one in England had any idea who they were or what they did,” a London agent told The Huffington Post at the time. “But they are so barmy they have won over the public." A crew member confirmed this to the Daily Star, saying "Initially everyone seemed to love their meddling. But now it's turned into real hatred."

Just six months ago Heidi expressed her regret for the scandalous part she played on "The Hills," a role that turned Spencer and her into the most hated couple on U.S. television. Old dog, new tricks? "[Spencer and I] are not those people on 'The Hills' anymore. We never were," the reality star told Celebuzz. "It was more an acting role than anything else."

The fact that Montag underwent numerous plastic surgeries -- 10 in one day, even! -- did not help her image, nor did it win her any fans. Then there was the couple's fake divorce, admittedly to gain publicity and boost Heidi's career, and the more recent "leaked photos" via Pratt's Twitter account.
