Latest Headline: USDA's New Tool for Mapping Water Use and Drought

The United States Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Research Service has released a new tool for mapping our nation's water use and drought. As the news release explains, "Agricultural Research Service (ARS) scientists Martha Anderson and Bill Kustas have developed an evapotranspiration (ET) and drought modeling system at the ARS Hydrology and Remote Sensing Laboratory in Beltsville, Md. The modeling system also will help forecasters monitor ET and drought conditions across the United States and overseas."

The Horinko Group's Water Division has posted it's next upcoming webinar to be held on February 16, 2012 from 1:30 - 3:00 PM Eastern. The webinar is titled "Agricultural Water Usage: Trends, Indicators, and What It All Means" and will feature speaker Noel Gollehon, Senior Economist at the US Department of Agriculture's Natural Resources Conservation Service. This webinar will break down the complexities of irrigation practices through data analysis and graphical representation of trends to educate, identify efficiencies and improvements, and provide an accurate representation of the irrigation “story.”
