In Their Skin is another take on identity theft, with the benefit of having the morose but hot Selma Blair. Dark comedy is served up by Simon Pegg in A Fantastic Fear of Everything. And Jerry offers a quick E-meter reading of The Master, the latest opus from the often great Paul Thomas Anderson.

So, dear listeners, buckle up, try to relax and allow your chinwagging hosts to whisk you away to a land of magic & funnily dressed people… And no, we’re not talking about a trip to Little Italy.

A gracious good day to all the horror fans out there in listening land. This week’s episode of The Horror Movie Show, hosted by fun-guy Mark and fungi Jerry, is all about the third season of The Walking Dead. Be warned: if you haven’t seen the final episodes this year, don’t be surprised by all the spoilers. These guys do not keep secrets well.

Much has happened in this latest season. Rick and the gang have been holed up in an abandoned prison. Andrea was picked up & taken to a fake town led by a maniac who calls himself the Governor. Much fighting has taken place between the two groups, despite Andrea’s attempts to keep human from murdering human. And by the end of the last episode, Phil the Governor has been sent packing with his swinish tail between his legs & just two tough guys to back him up. There can be no doubt he will return.

Rick has regained some of his humanity, a commodity that is rarer with each savage & unnatural day in zombie apocalypse hell. While the group lost several of its staunchest — or at least toughest — members this season, Sheriff Rick’s Rest Home and Retirement Haven will be back for a fourth season in the not-too-distant future. We look forward to it.

Good day, sports fans, and welcome to The Horror Movie Show! Of course, when we say sports, we mean blood sports. More specifically, we mean the sports in which people are possessed by demonic entities & their friends have to chop them into pieces with an axe or a chainsaw in a most disgusting manner. And, to be absolutely precise, we’re talking about the highly entertaining Evil Dead movies.

This episode, your horrid hosts Mark & Jerry take it upon themselves to critique each & every Evil Dead movie, beginning with writer/director Sam Raimi‘s 1981 low-budget gorefest The Evil Dead. That is followed by chitchat about 1987′s Evil Dead 2 and 1992′s Army of Darkness. Actor Bruce Campbell acquits himself admirably throughout, playing Ashley J. Williams.

After a brief mention of the 2003 comedic stageshow, Evil Dead: The Musical, the guys get on with their review of the franchise reboot: Evil Dead. There are many similarities to the original flicks, but also significant differences. For one thing, no Ash.

Another new episode — in fact, No. 102 — means that hosts Mark & Jerry are now well past that massive 100th episode summit & can only be headed downhill rapidly. What can our lovely listeners expect to hear? There is a plethora of newish movies reviewed, including the much-anticipated serial-killer thriller Sinister, starring occasional novelist Ethan Hawke. And that’s just the beginning of this jam-packed episode.

The boys of spring get busy with spirited chitchat about The Collection, the inevitable first sequel to 2009′s The Collector. Can the first offspring of this Saw-like torture-fest stand on its own two mangled feet? Sequels are inevitably shaky.

Also reviewed: the odd 2011 feature All Superheroes Must Die and a pair of 2012 flicks, Redd Inc. and the entertaining Irish sci-fi flick Grabbers. Now, to the old-timey radio! The Horror Movie Show is about to begin!

Well, the Centennial Festivities have ended and hosts Jerry & Mark are currently undergoing complete blood transfusions to clear the celebratory poisons from their shrivelled veins. But just before their core body temperatures were lowered to 27˚ Celsius, the guys managed to croak out yet another episode of The Horror Movie Show.

This week’s chinwag includes reviews of both the 2006 feature Silent Hill and the new Silent Hill: Revelations 3D. Many of the original cast reprise their roles, but unfortunately there is no appearance by Laurie Holden as Officer Bennett. One suspects she’s busy these days as the dynamic Andrea on AMC’s excellent The Walking Dead.

So how does the new Silent Hill flick compare with the original? Since the first was based on the once popular videogame, a sequel seems a bit… superfluous. However, in the six years between first flick & its sequel, special effects have continued to improve. Listen up & discover if the technical advances — as well as a new writer-director, Michael A. Bassett — make this sequel worth watching.

Mark & Jerry also discuss a decidedly tortuous low-budget 2011 movie given the unusually honest title of Vile. The guys agree there should have been more screentime for friend of the show Maria Olsen & a bit less viciousness. But hey, sometimes a bit of torture is just what the doctors ordered.

Also reviewed is 2012′s The Harsh Light of Day. What would you be willing to sacrifice in order to take revenge on the evil swine who murdered your family? This feature offers viewers a heady mix of vampires & vengeance, just the thing for a quiet evening at home with the kids. Just kidding!

To celebrate this enormous event, your hosts are featuring a pair of big Hollywood horror productions — the terrifying ghost-story Mama and the action-adventurish Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters. The first is dark, moody, atmospheric, with a truly monstrous evil spirit. The second is pretty gosh-darned silly.

The guys also take a good look at the goofball end-of-the-world comedy It’s a Disaster, starring fave-rave funnyman David Cross and half-human-half-Pekinese hybrid-actress Julia Stiles. If you knew you only had a couple of hours to live, how would you spend that brief period? (Maybe watching a horror movie….)

And to help celebrate this epic episode, Jerry reads some listener mail & the ghastly guys also poke a stick at a very good short flick, Zombie. Written by & starring Bill Connington, directed by Thomas Caruso, this is a disturbing story of love & lust gone awry. Connington is genuinely frightening as a fun-loving Jeffrey Dahmer-style maniac. The moral is: Never trust the soft-spoken.

This episode begins with a frightened look over the shoulder at the most recent episodes of everyone’s favourite primetime TV zombie series, The Walking Dead. How nuts is Rick? Will the Governor make an honest woman of Andrea? Is Hershel’s amputated leg now living its own undead existence, hopping from place to place in search of fresh insoles? None of these questions are adequately answered in detail.

Our hosts with the ghosts next chitchat about a handful of short horrorish films (including a zombie tale), all online at www.dreamseekersprods.com. Key dude here is director Peter Dukes & he’s obviously able to deliver on style — which ranges beyond horror. Something full-length would be worth a look.

Continuing the zombie theme for this show is a lengthy review of the romantic zombie comedy Warm Bodies, starring pretty-deadboy Nicholas Hoult, the lovely & chatty Teresa Palmer, the even lovelier John Malkovich and the undoubtedly amusing Rob Corddry. Should this flick be allowed to survive or does it belong in an unmarked shallow grave? Listen & learn.

Driving the final nail in this shuffling, decomposing mess is a re-review of Colin, the 2008 Brit flick told from a good-hearted zombie’s point of view. Great low-budget horror. So, walking briskly away, let’s not draw attention to ourselves. The hosts are already yammering.

Though Jerry gave his opinion on Peter Jackson‘s first part of the three-headed beast The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey in a previous show, it is Mark’s turn to tell listeners what he thought of it. (He liked it.) Hard to believe Pete’s gonna stretch this out for another two over-length flicks, but at least it’s an excuse to get out of the house around Xmastime. Sometimes the aroma of turkey is the odour of doom.

Jerry & Mark also discuss some new & weird horror flicks, including the unpleasant Victim, the super-silly Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter (a Canadian-made musical-comedy, no less) and the ambitious first-feature effort by a YouTube phenom: Sunshine Girl & the Hunt for Black-Eyed Kids. In this episode, your hosts Jerry & Mark unleash their opinions of Quentin Tarantino‘s latest blockbuster, Django Unchained. Bloody, outrageous & darkly comedic, this movie does for the U.S. slave industry what Inglourious Basterds did for the Third Reich. Christoph Waltz is the common thread, actor-wise, between the two movies & is excellent as the dental bounty hunter. Jamie Foxx & Leonardo DiCaprio are also fun to watch.

Following that, the guys discuss the entire series of Death Race movies. The original (Death Race 2000) was made back in 1975. The enjoyable reboot was in 2008. Now there are two prequels. But are they worth watching? Listen up & you will hear.

Finally, with word on the street that professional wrestling may be slightly fixed, Mark & Jerry take a look at 2007′s The Condemned, starring WWF Hall-of-Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin and British rock-head Vinnie Jones. If that isn’t enough for you, then I’d suggest you cross the street & pretend you don’t see us. But don’t get run over — these drivers are crazy!

This hyar is another rootin’, tootin’ edition of The Horror Movie Show, the only podcast that asks the question: “How far would you go to stop the Zombie Ronald Reagan?” Pretty far, I’d guess.

This week your hideously malcontented hosts Mark & Jerry are judge, jury & executioners of a review of Dredd, the remake of the Judge Dredd movie that nobody saw or cared about, excepting Sly Stallone. The newer Dredd is one tough futuristic lawman. A tip of the hat to Karl Urban (Bones McCoy in the rewarped Star Trek movies); Karl never removes his Judgin’ Helmet, quite an ego challenge for any actor outside a Kabuki theatre.

Our hosts then dish up a ladleful of other horror or horrific movies, including Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning. Jean-Claude Van Damme takes one more kick at this cat — a cat that should have been buried very deeply years ago. Also: the very funny John Dies at the End and hangin’ with Australian creeps in The Snowtown Murders.

We here at The Horror Movie Show hope our listeners in weather-ravaged parts of the world are able to take some small comfort in the fact that everybody is gonna get whacked sooner or later. When is the next ship to the Martian colonies set to depart?

Jerry & Mark, your survivalist hosts with the most — cans of beans, that is — begin with a review of a new horror flick, House at the End of the Street. The lovely but unsmiling Jennifer Lawrence (heroine of The Hunger Games) bravely takes on a whole bunch of crazily vicious possibilities in this Psycho-style thriller.

Following this review, the loveable lugs begins to delineate each of the terrible ways that our poor, put-upon planet Earth could be destroyed come midnight tonight. They begin with a comet reported to be a “planet killer” in Armageddon, move on to a hellish ice age in The Day After Tomorrow, then dally with the ridiculous notion that the chewy centre of the world might stop rotating (whatever that means) in The Core.

Also included: a gigantic meteor strike in Meteor, a horrifyingly hostile alien invasion on Independence Day and, last but not least horrible, a colossal asteroid strike in Deep Impact.

Yes, all these possible worldly endings can be yours for the praying. Get on your knees & get bizzay! Happy New Year, survivors!

Inarguably the very best of all versions of the Charles Dickens‘s classic A Christmas Carol, the 1951 version starring Alastair Sim as miserly Ebenezer Scrooge is such a stunning stand-out that Mark & Jerry must praise it in an overly fulsome way. If you haven’t seen it in all its spooky black & white glory, then make sure you do. It’s great.

Following those two reviews, the boys chat about the 2012 movie Silent Night, about a maniac who dresses up as Santa Claus to wreak havoc on a small town. What an original idea. To cap the show, a discussion of Jack Frost & Jack Frost 2: Attack of the Mutant Killer Snowman completes this year’s Xmas extravaganza.

On this week’s episode of The Horror Movie Show — hosted by both Mark & Jerry, those twin road-flares on the hapless highway of horrible hopelessness — the guys discuss the early flicks of a certain David Cronenberg. Did you know that the surname Cronenberg means “He who can travel through time at will”? You didn’t? Well, that’s because I just made it up.

However, our hosts do travel backwards through Señor Cronenberg’s filmic history. The previous episode began with Dave’s latest, Cosmopolis, and ended with the nightmarish Naked Lunch. This second of two parts begins with 1988′s Dead Ringers (starring Jeremy Irons), then moves swiftly to a frank discussion of The Fly. This excellent 1986 movie helped forever make star Jeff Goldblum seem rather insectoid in the minds of horror & sci-fi fans everywhere.

Another fave-rave is 1983′s The Dead Zone, with the always entertaining Christopher Walken. Another oddball actor — James Woods — heads up an interesting cast in ’83′s Videodrome. But now we move into some very early films indeed, including the head-explodingly gruesome Scanners (’81), The Brood (’79), Rabid (’77, starring hardcore porn-queen Marilyn Chambers) and finally Shivers (’75).

What with the snow outside (it’s got to be outside somewhere, global warming or not), this episode is a good excuse to lay down under the Xmas tree, suck down a couple of litres of spiked eggnog & relax. This stressful time of year cannot last forever.

A jolly December greeting to all the dozens of loyal listeners to The Horror Movie Show. This week’s episode is a tribute & exploration of the movies made by Canadian master of techno-horror, David Cronenberg.

Your hosts, Jerry & Mark, begin this two-part study of all things Cronenbergian with the writer-director’s newest movie, Cosmopolis. This is one wild ride, as viewers tag along with star Robert Pattinson as he either takes care of business in the back of his stretch limo, or hallucinates another man’s life, or maybe travels only cybernetically. In any case, this is one wild & crazy journey — as so many of Dave’s movies are.

Following the tail-lights of this latest release, our hosts reach deep inside their own intestinal weapons cache to examine the slimy, dripping remains of 2002′s reclusive Spider, 1999′s computer-game savvy eXistenZ, the badly mangled Crash (1996) and the hilariously gruesome Naked Lunch (1991). This last is based on the work of master stylist William S. Burroughs, a drug-addled & wonderful writer of the practically unfilmable. That just shows what I know….

So, as the Xmas season & all the rest of that jazz begins to set in with a vengeance, listen to this hour of Cronenberg dissection. Part 2 next week takes us back to the man’s humble beginnings. Cheers!

Finally, the actual reason for the Civil War is explored in a no-holds-barred documentary about how vampires were on the side of the brutal, slave-lovin’ South. Admit it… you always knew there was something like this behind a war like that.

We also have a pair of perfect Halloween flick picks, including the 1986 feature Trick or Treat (featuring Ozzy Osbourne & Gene Simmons) and House of 1,000 Corpses, director Rob Zombie‘s troubled first film. With the third season of AMC‘s excellent series The Walking Dead already shambling through its first couple of episodes, your clammy hosts Mark & Jerry take brain-shots at what’s happened so far, as well as what has already happened and what we can expect in the future. There are many unanswered questions: Will we learn what has become of Andrea? Who is the guy who wants to take over this awful world? Will Lori’s baby be a cute little zombie-human hybrid, a creature who can bring peace between the two factions? No, of course not. That’s a stupid thing to say. You’re thinking of that reptile-invasion TV series, V. Don’t be a jerk.

Mark is of the opinion that this season is shaping up to be faster-paced than last. Jerry believes that the survivors should begin to eat the zombies. Mmm, tastes like chicken jerky!

A gracious good day to you, gentle listener. This episode of The Horror Movie Show — hosted, as ever, by those softly sobbing spectral shapes in the shrubbery Jerry & Mark — begins with an examination in minute detail of Snow White & the Huntsman, comparing it with the first full-length version of that fairy-tale, Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs, the lavish Walt Disney feature from 1937. The new version features gorgeous Charlize Theron as the Wicked Step-Queen. Downside is that ratty Kristen Stewart plays Ms. White.

Hot on the heels of Snowy are tightly fitting digital diatribes about Japan’s 1998 Ringu & its American remake, The Ring (2002); three different versions of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (though the most recent is still in production); both the 1973 George Romero flick The Crazies & its very fine recent remake; and both versions of Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark. Following that, the boys discuss the two versions of The Andromeda Strain that might be picked up (be sure to wash hands thoroughly) and two of the hundreds of versions of Dracula (the 1931 version & the 1992 release, directed by Francis Ford Coppola). The final remake & original talked about is The Hills Have Eyes.

Sadly, comparing Paul W.S. Anderson‘s latest sequel, Resident Evil: Retribution, and Japanese anime feature Resident Evil: Damnation, is a bit like comparing soft, mealy apples and mouldy, dry oranges. Neither is very palatable, at least according to Jerry & Mark, hosts of this here episode of The Horror Movie Show. Of course, fans of lovely Milla Jovovich will be delighted to see the ultra-skinny action hero back in her S&M gear. But the action is strictly from repeatsville.

Also on the bill is a discussion of the amusing Eddie the Sleepwalking Cannibal and Airborne, a flying ghost picture costarring the original Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill. We all know what Obi-wan advised young Skywalker to do when confronted with a large spaghetti monster: “Use the forks, Luke!” No, it’s not very funny, but them’s the breaks.

The world will note that The Amazing Harpo, wheaten terrier extraordinaire, passed away quietly at home with her closest friends cuddling her, October 1, 2012. According to several sources, the five-year-old Harpo was reported to be the “world’s best dog” and “a very sweet, clever girl.” She is remembered by her many friends & large extended family. See you around, puppy, if we’re lucky.

Continuing our series of brand-new episodes of The Horror Movie Show — hosted as ever by Jerry & Mark, those scamps — is another look at chilling, thrilling movie remakes. This week the boys discuss several originals & remakes, starting with the recent rehashing of The Philadelphia Experiment. The original was no great hell, so what’s the point of remaking it? Ah, Hollywood… I weep for your children.

Following that, our hairless hosts move onto a comparison of the Spanish horror flick Rec & its U.S.-made version, Quarantine. Then it’s fun with vampire children with Let the Right One In and Let Me In. Horror maven John Carpenter‘s ground-breaking Halloween is compared with Rob Zombie‘s 2007 remake. And we wrap this remade episode with a comparison of the three versions of King Kong (1933, 1976 & 2005).

Perhaps it’s a sign that creative thought in Hollywood is as shrivelled as a desiccated plate of week-old braised brains, but the remakes sure keep coming. With the previous version of Spider-Man just 10 years old, this reboot of the series seems a tad premature. But what do we know? In any case, you can hear all about it on this episode of The Horror Movie Show, hosted by those twin terrors Mark & Jerry.

After dissecting The Amazing Spider-Man, our hosts discuss several other movies deemed worthy — profit-worthy, more like — of remakes. How do the originals stack up to the retreads? Hello folks! We are moderately proud to present the latest episode of The Horror Movie Show, hosted by the repeatedly flatulent Jerry & Mark. This week’s episode is the first of a three-parter on remakes of horror flicks, beginning with Total Recall. Both the Arnold Schwarzenegger and Colin Farrell versions get the once-over by our hapless hosts.

Also on deck is a pair (actually a quadruped) of Stephen King stories: Carrie and The Shining. Both versions of The Day the Earth Stood Still are reviewed, as are the two very different take on the H.G. Wells‘ classic (The) War of the Worlds. Finally, our jabbering monkeymen discuss the ever-lovin’ Planet of the Apes. Hard to beat the original, what with Moses letting his damn dirty backside hang out, but there you go.

If I might take this opportunity to say that the recent remake of Coma was particularly awful — another disappointing remake from A&E, the network that tries and continues to fail to come up to the super-high standard set by AMC — and also that I think I’m having problems with my duodenum. Just so y’all know.

It’s still pretty warm in most parts of the Northern Hemisphere, so don’t get overheated as you disagree violently with our argumentative hosts. Unless you’re feeling a chill. If that’s the case, throw on your winter coat and snuggle up close.

Good day, Ladies & Germs! This episode of The Horror Movie Show, hosted as ever by damp, sweaty Jerry & Mark, features reviews of a few new horror movies, as well as the usual assortment of comments, ribald humour, political disdain & extreme body odour. Movies reviewed this week include The Hunger Games, a flick aimed at the tween crowd, as well as the big, noisy, obnoxious Battleship. Basing an entire movie on a simple board-game might seem like a silly idea, but it’s better than a movie titled Hungry Hungry Hippos.

Mark is of the opinion that the straight-to-video anthology movie V/H/S is worth watching, though Jerry disagrees so violently that blows may have been exchanged between our horrible hosts. And to round out this quadruple-sized dose of scary movies, the boys chat about the blackly comical Norwegian feature Troll Hunter.

Not that anyone ever asks my opinion, but I think the best of the bunch is Troll Hunter. Yumpin’ Yiminy, dat’s vun big tree-headed troll dere!

Welcome to the second part of The Horror Movie Show‘s special edition about Nazis involved in shenanigans from beyond the grave. Hosted, as always, by Mark & Jerry, this episode includes reviews of several recent Nazi horror flicks, including the 2011 Finnish-made War of the Dead, Nazis at the Center of the Earth, The 25th Reich and Iron Sky. These last three are all brand new, demonstrating that interest in crazed German warmongers is hardly a thing of the past.

As well, Jerry & Mark manage to slip in a few comments about other notable Nazi video-nasties, such as Marathon Man, the original Star Trek episode in which some Federation idiot turns a peaceful planet into a version of Hitler’s Germany, and even Gregory Peck hamming it up in The Boys from Brazil.

So take a break from the hot weather and listen to our hosts with the ghosts babble about the possibility of undead Nazi battalions and secret German war installations on the dark side of the moon. Better than mowing the lawn in this heat.

If you are German, we’d like to point out that just because you weren’t born in the long-ago time doesn’t mean we aren’t mocking you, too. We find the Germans to be a very risible people, though they themselves appear to encompass as little humour as an Albanian warlord. But please, let our horrible hosts speak for themselves. And given that the Chinese intend to up the stakes & belch out even more automobile & industrial pollution in the near future — particularly if they can get their hands on the filthy, poisonous Alberta tar-sands oil — things are only going to get worse. (I don’t trust Enbridge, the company that wants to ram a pipeline through pristine British Columbia, all the way to the delicate Pacific coast. The company has proven itself to be irresponsible & environmentally unfriendly.)

Best idea is to stay indoors, keep horror movies playing on your television 24-7 and pray the intense heat keeps the zombies in the shade. Hoochy mama, it’s warm!

This week’s show — hosted by your personal best friends Jerry & Mark, those two sons of fun — includes rundowns on several new horror and horror-related flicks, including the U.S. remake of Latino ghost story Silent House (starring Elizabeth Olsen, kid sister to Mary-Kate & Ashley), science fiction thriller Lockout, Civil War-era zombie apocalypse tale Exit Humanity and the independently made, low-budget but worthwhile Cell Count. This last was written & directed by Todd E. Freeman. Always good to see something by a worthy newcomer to the genre.

Here’s hoping your summer is going well & you’re not trapped under a bushel of flaming corn-plants somewhere in Indiana. Remember to drink plenty of fluids (as opposed to drinking solids) and keep to the shade. It’s harder for them to “get you” if you’re constantly peeing and hiding in dim light. Cheers!

Good day to all the lovely listeners of The Horror Movie Show, hosted as always by that pair of gritty-socked goons Jerry & Mark. This week the guys discuss toymaker Hasbro‘s Hollywood blockbuster Battleship. Hostile extraterrestrials — is there any other kind, other than that milquetoast E.T.? — try to conquer our precious planet. Luckily for Earth, the Americans are able to use their “battle-ships” to fight the ungodly illegal aliens. (Funny how Earthlings will rally together to defeat a hostile enemy, but we won’t put a leash on Exxon, etc.) Hopefully the movie is more interesting that watching each commander call out “B-9″ and “7-G.”

Also on the ticket is the tongue-in-cheek Lesbian Vampire Killers, a little flick that could share a double-bill with Shaun of the Dead. Two American dudes trapped in a woodsy cabin with hot Scandinavian babes who are one-by-one turned into lesbian vampires. Fun & funny.

Last movie reviewed this show is the cult-hit Battle Royale, a Japanese movie about high school students forced to hunt each other to death in a near-future in which the teachers have simply had enough of the students’ bad behaviour. Doesn’t anybody force kids to write lines as punishment anymore?

Speaking of vampires, the boys also review Blood: Last of the Vampires, a movie that could be described as a live-action anime. And just to show we’re not entirely obsessed with bloodsuckers, the other two flicks reviewed are Aaah! Zombies (aka Wasting Away) and Night of the Living Dead: Re-Animation. The latter co-stars the always fun Jeffrey Combs — star of the original three Re-Animator movies.

These quite-possibly mythical medicos recommend listening to The Horror Movie Show, hosted in the usual fashion by Jerry & Mark. In this episode several flicks are examined for signs of life, including John Carter, the tale of a civil war soldier who winds up being a superman on Mars. Sounds plausible. Also in the red-dusty mix is ATM, a low-budget but interesting thriller starring the megalovely Alice Eve.

The always-watchable Danny Dyer plays a most affable loony in the Brit-flick Deviation. And last but by no means least, the boys discuss Trail of the Screaming Forehead, one of the better intentionally funny horror flicks of the last couple of years.

And please — the next time you watch a horror movie, notice the soothing effect on your T-zone, the line that runs from shoulder-to-shoulder and from your clavicle to your duodenum. Unlike harsh comedies or heart-clogging romances, horror movies help eliminate unwanted tension and free up your critical Panic Gland. Nothing works like a horror movie to unstrangulate your large bowel and open up your pyloric valve. Yes, nine out of 10 semi-legit doctors agree: horror movies soothe your T-zone.

Hello everyone. You have fallen into the sonic blast radius of The Horror Movie Show, hosted by the ever-quivering Jerry & Mark. This episode, the feckless duo fearlessly dissect Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. The first instalment in this comic-book-inspired series was silly; can the sequel surpass it? Jerry then expounds upon Jennifer’s Body. And what a body it is — that Megan Fox is passably attractive, I must say, even with suspected toe-thumbs. Jerry also, for no apparent reason, recommends the mockumentary Paul McCartney Really Is Dead: The Last Testament of George Harrison, a wacky look at both the Beatles and conspiracy theories. Following that, the boys each have some strong opinions about Dave Foley‘s Monster Brawl. ”These are the stinkers I know I know, these are the stinkers I know….”

To wrap this edition of The Horror Movie Show podcast, Mark & Jerry discuss the 2011 documentary Corman’s World: Exploits of a Hollywood Rebel. Long considered the master of the B-movie (The Raven, Death Race, 1955′s The Fast and the Furious), Roger Corman deserves more credit than that. Corman’s method of hiring up-and-comers to write and direct movies on shoestring budgets and tight deadlines was a proving ground for dozens of creative types, from Martin Scorsese and John Sayles to Tommy Lee Jones and Jack Nicholson. This is an entertaining documentary any movie buff will love.

The title of the Coen Bros. movie with J.K. Simmons as the CIA manager is Burn after Reading. Now feed me, Seymour! Feed me!

Greetings to all the citizens of the world from Mark & Jerry, hosts of The Horror Movie Show, a usually weekly podcast that informs on all things horror related — or at least ridiculous. This week the shows reviewed include interesting The Cabin in the Woods, one of only a handful of Horror-SciFi-Comedy-Action movies ever made. Is it as good as, say, The Goonies? Who really knows? The gruesome twosome then discuss the season finale of The Walking Dead. (Yes, the episode aired some weeks back. But neither of these idiots can use a PVR. Only VHS video. I could smack ‘em.) Be warned that big nasty Spoilers abound!

Following that is a lively discussion of a movie and its sequel, specifically Laid to Rest and ChromeSkull: Laid to Rest 2. Recounting the story of a bloodthirsty maniac who likes to torture people to death for no good reason is so seldom attempted by those who churn out horror movies. This is a rare treat.

So these “funny” guys, Jerry & Mark, want you all to know that they have been working hard to watch only the horror movies that make for great conversational topics. Not for these idiots are the movies that leave the viewer stunned with the sheer audacity of a true auteur‘s vision. No, these two goons make a point of watching the noisiest, loudest and highest volume horror flicks available. We asked Mark to tell us why. His answer: “What? You’ll have to speak up!”

Welcome to the latest episode of The Horror Movie Show, the best horror movie podcast in the entire known universe. If you don’t believe us, just try listening to the crap being broadcast from the central plexus of Galaxy M-147B! Whew, stinko!

With literally trillions of horror movies being released every day, it might seem an impossible task to watch every one of them. And, of course, it is impossible. But our hapless hosts Jerry & Mark do manage to review The Darkest Hour, Skeleton Lake, The Skeleton Key, The River and Two-Headed Shark Attack.

The Darkest Hour sees a small group of American friends trapped in Moscow as aliens attempt to conquer the planet with really cool disintegration beams. Skeleton Lake and The Skeleton Key are both movies with “skeleton” in the title. The River is a TV movie and Two-Headed Shark Attack is like having a mouthful of warm chum, so to speak.

Let’s hope that there are no two-headed sharks listening to this episode. I don’t want to hurt their feelings.

Celebrate The Horror Movie Show‘s Diamond Jubilee Episode with mumbling, spluttering hosts Mark & Jerry. On this week’s show, the goofballs discuss a couple of fairly recent horror flicks: Underworld: Awakening and arctic survival tale The Grey.

Lovely, skinny Kate Beckinsale reprises the role of Selene once again in the latest Underworld sequel. By this time in the rather haphazard series, the werewolves have been hunted by humans to the point of extinction and the vampires are next. The battle would appear to be between Kate’s crew and us fearful vampire-killers (are we really supposed to take the bloodsuckers’ side?).

One might think that Liam Neeson could do better than the wildly inaccurate The Grey. However, even with its complete and utter lack of wolfish realism, the story is fast-paced and entertaining; our friends at Greenpeace might disagree.

To round out this episode, Jerry had a chance to see La Jetée, the 1962 short French film that is the direct inspiration for Terry Gilliam‘s wonderful time-travel-paradox movie 12 Monkeys. So grab your bananas and give this Diamond Anniversary Episode of The Horror Movie Show a listen.

Good day, boys and ghouls! We are happy to bring you the latest episode of The Horror Movie Show, hosted as per usual by those sons of fun Jerry & Mark. This week the guys talk about the latest couple of episodes of The Walking Dead, the new Daniel Radcliffe spookfest The Woman in Black, the fine and spooky The Awakening and the freaky science fiction flick, Perfect Sense, starring Ewan McGregor.

Excepting the ultra-American adventures of our quickly diminishing cast on AMC‘s excellent The Walking Dead, the three feature films featured this episode are all British. But don’t let that put you off. The English pretty much invented the whole idea of ghosts. Or is that fairies? All I know is that Popeye says, “There ain’t so such things as ghosks,” and that’s good enough for me. It’s been a long week. I just found out that Mark & Jerry are thinking of having me replaced by a small plastic box that dispenses postage stamps. And nobody here at our headquarters in the mighty Splutt Building has sent a letter in years. I’m so depressed. But never mind my problems, let’s listen to the new podcast.

From his first big break working in New York for his Mad Magazine hero Harvey Kurtzman to a chance meeting with a young John Cleese, Minnesota’s Terry Gilliam has gone from being a struggling cartoonist and self-taught cut-out animator, to become one of our most daring — and daringly weird — movie directors. The various Monty Python flicks, Brazil, 12 Monkeys, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas, The Fisher King, Tideland — all have an aspect of the nightmarish and fantastic. Gilliam deserves a spot in modern horror movie history.

Good day, everyone in the entire world — and beyond! This is the newest episode of The Horror Movie Show, hosted by those grinning skulls of fun Jerry & Mark. This show features several newish movies and one true chestnut.

First up is Teeth, the likably twisted story of a young lady who can smile with more than the mouth in her face, if you take my drift. She can definitely bite the hand that, uh, feeds her. Also discussed is Perfect Life, about a half-dozen murderous bank robbers who encounter something rather more dangerous in the woods. For big box-office appeal, we feature Immortals, with Mickey Rourke gloriously and greedily chewing, devouring and swallowing entire the scenery around himself. Finally, our feckless hosts take a loving look at David Fincher‘s genre-changing Se7en, starring Morgan Freeman, Brad Pitt, the limp-as-a-dishrag Gwyneth Paltrow and the anonymous Kevin Spacey. The latest episode of The Horror Movie Show, with your Maccabean and revolting hosts Mark & Jerry, features several new horror flicks, some personal comments that should not be repeated and a dash of something that could be table salt. Hope it’s not anthrax spores. Doesn’t taste like salt…. Uh-oh.

To begin, the newest entry in the Final Destination series — FD5 — gets the once-over. Could this be the last entry in that gorey and entertaining series? Also discussed with proper disgust are the James Cameron-produced Sanctum, the interesting remake of an old TV episode titled The Box (starring the always watchable Cameron Diaz) and, of course, the latest two episodes of the excellent series The Walking Dead.

For those that enjoy Jerry’s rants & angry comments about the GOP loonies and their race to win back the Outhouse — I mean White House — best listen again to Podcast 55. There is almost no discussion of politics in this episode. Or in this introduction, for that matter.
