Or should I say, a government of the fools, by the fools and for the fools. Obama’s former Car Czar Steven Rattner has wrote a book about the failed Obama administration. The first of many, one assumes. We all know that old saw about rats and sinking ships. According to Ratter, Obama was “out to get” the car companies from the start. Some other gems.

-When Obama was told of the plan to pay GM CEO Rick Wagoner a $7.1 million severance package after Obama ordered that he be sacked, Rattner writes: “Suddenly I felt that I was indeed in the presence of a community organizer…”

-Rattner describes presidential political adviser David Axelrod coming to car meetings armed with poll data to support the takeover and Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel identify Congressmen in whose districts large Chrysler facilities were located.

-”[Obama's economic team] veered dangerously close to having the government take control of the two most troubled banks, Bank of America and Citigroup.”

-”If his team had linked arms with the outgoing administration, as President Bush’s advisers had proposed, billions of dollars could well have been saved.”

-Rattner says Chief of Staff Rahm Emanual dictated Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner’s schedule, public appearances and staff selections.

-He says Obama economic advisers Larry Summers and Austan Goolsbee and FDIC Chair Sheila Bair as enemies who slowed down decision making with infighting

-Rattner said Obama was frustrated with the auto companies from the start: “Why can’t they make a Corolla?” he has Obama asking.

Oh, the next couple years will be entertaining as the Republicans investigate this administration from top to bottom. There has to be all sorts of entertaining revelations to come.

It’s hard to believe that the government still chases after home distillers of liquor, but the Federal Government treats it as if it’s heroin or crystal meth. The government regulates everything it can get its hand on. The BATFE is really charged with a lot of excessive nonsense. It was that department of the government that started the Waco incident because they didn’t like the idea that some religious cult hoarded guns. It had nothing to do with David Koresh’s pedophilia. And it resulted in the death of a lot of innocent people.

They go after home distillers because they can’t tax them, so they make it illegal. If someone is making booze under the radar, that’s revenue the government can’t get. So they want to punish those people. Despite propaganda to the contrary, that is their main reason, not bad moonshine.

Me tooism has infected the left now that they were made to feel like eunuchs after the success of the non-partisan, non-poitical Glenn Beck “Restoring Honor” Rally, which they apparently feel very threatened by. So they’re holding their own rally on October 2.

Labor leaders, liberal religious leaders and the NAACP will hold a rally on the National Mall on October 2, one month before the fall midterm elections, in an attempt to show they too have political clout and momentum in response to last Saturday’s massive gathering of Tea Party types led by Fox News host Glenn Beck.

“The AFL-CIO is determined that the Tea Party and its corporate backers are not going to get the final word,” said AFL-CIO executive vice president Arlene Holt Baker. “We will expect tens of thousands of union families to come.”

“We are fueled by hope and not hate,” Holt Baker said.

Oooh, “We’re not about hate!” That’s news to the people who’ve been beaten or assaulted by Union thugs. Since Beck’s rally had nothing to do with hate at all, and wasn’t political, this gatheing of political ideologues who are starting off with a false premise does not augur well.

They are trying to rally their troops to endorse more dependence on the state and radical statist enablers. The big difference is Beck asked people to come to his thing. They will be telling, aka encouraging >koff<, their people to go. And we’ll see how many they actually get. Beck had many more months to promote his gathering on his popular TV show. They will be trying to harangue people to go to theirs and they will bus in as many as they can round up to make it look big.

I suspect Beck’s rally will come off looking better. Just a hunch.

We didn’t lose the Vietnam war, no matter what they may have told you in school. We defeated the North Vietnamese army, the Tet offensive was the last hurrah of the North. But the Democrats used it and the capitulation message that came from CBS’s Walter Cronkite as an excuse to cut off funding to the war. The Nixon Administration (mainly Dr. Henry Kissinger) had been negotiating with the North for a peaceful resolution. But cutting off funding, the North knew we were going to leave. So they just waited till we did and moved in. Peace treaty or not, as soon as the majority of our troops pulled out, they moved in and the South fell to the communists. A very serious humanitarian disaster followed for years.

The Democrats and the leftist anti-war crowd shrugged. The same people who were complaining about American committed “atrocities” in the war, most of which were nothing but communist propaganda, didn’t seem to care about the atrocities that were perpetrated on all these displaced people. A vast number of them came here.

Prepare for something similar. Barack Obama gave a speech today indicating that we were done in Iraq, and would be winding down in Afghanistan. This is basically telling Al Qaeda and other monsters in the region there will be a power vacuum and they can move in unopposed. It will happen. And when it does hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people will die. Many will be displaced. Many will relocate here. Two more dominos will fall and Muslim extremists will have two more nations under their control.

Obama has neither the skill, the wisdom or the will to maintain our war efforts. He put good people in charge, but he has lost the support of most Americans and will try to appease his base, who are losing interest in him fast. The same crowd who didn’t care about the boat people and the Cambodian killing fields will make jokes about the Iraqis and Afghanis who lose their lives and freedom to terrorists and the Taliban. I’m sure sanctimonious clowns like David Letterman will make cracks to Paul about how glad he is we’re out of there. Then wipe mock flop sweat from his brow.

Jimmy Carter sold out the people of Iran. Obama will have two nations on his conscience, if he has one.

Unless some miracle happens in the next year, I say expect to see a lot of horror stories coming from the middle east. That may sound really pessimistic, but this administration is repeating history.

Elections do have consequences. When Bush started his war on terror and said it would take 10 years, I thought: “If your war is unpopular and the other party gets elected, it can end badly.”

I hope I’m wrong.

It’s coming apart, slowly but surely.

A high-level inquiry into the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change found there was “little evidence” for its claims about global warming.
It also said the panel had emphasised the negative impacts of climate change and made “substantive findings” based on little proof.
The review by the InterAcademy Council (IAC) was launched after the IPCC’s hugely embarrassing 2007 benchmark climate change report, which contained exaggerated and false claims that Himalayan glaciers could melt by 2035.

The panel was forced to admit its key claim in support of global warming was lifted from a 1999 magazine article. The report was based on an interview with a little-known Indian scientist who has since said his views were “speculation” and not backed by research.

Independent climate scientist Peter Taylor said last night: “The IPCC’s credibility has been deeply dented and something has to be done. It can’t just be a matter of adjusting the practices. They have got to look at what are the consequences of having got it wrong in terms of what the public think is going on. Admitting that it needs to reform means something has gone wrong and they really do need to look at the science.”

The statists who have been running this scam will not go down without a fight. They see it as a huge cash cow. The new taxes and other schemes they want to impose on us all are something they have been trying to implement for over a decade now. The political leaders presently in power are still trying to get laws passed. But the public is growing increasingly resistant and in tough economic times, these costs and measures will be economy killers. They will not get through before the November elections, and after that I would say the chances are next to nil.

But until Global Warming is dead and buried we shouldn’t celebrate yet. But it’s getting there.

UPDATE: Another shot to the foot

To the people who endorse dependence on the state and limiting people’s freedoms, this picture has to be disturbing. It’s the people who showed up for Glenn Beck’s Restoring Honor rally in Washington. It’s a clear sign that people are motivated to vote out the big government loving progressives in either party.

Of course, the lap dog media is out there pointing out the the attendees are “mostly white” because, you know, white people have no right to opinions. They’re stupid racists. They should just shut up and do what they’re told. And that goes for any black people, gays or any other minorities who step off the reservation. You will be punished, slaves! Get back in line!

That’s really what the critics of this thing are saying. They’re afraid of debate and they’re really afraid of change. The kind that removes them from power, naturally. They had such a good scam going, bleeding the nation dry. And whittling away what’s left of people’s rights. And making sure they understand that their opinions don’t matter because they’re in charge and you are just supposed to thank them as they beat you.

Does that sound too harsh?

Now, I’m not totally down with Beck’s spiel. I don’t think religion is what needs to be back in government. It’s SANITY that matters. We have people running the show who are destroying the greatest, most prosperous nation on earth and are determined to continue their work. Beck is into generalities. He means well. And at least he is getting people’s attention.

His rally was not political. It was not partisan. That is one of the big lies that the detractors keep saying. It is about restoring core religious values to our society and government. Gee,what a frightening thought that must be to all those amoral, lying hacks in the press.

Especially the so called “progressives”, who better be worried because signs are not going their way. Could they get a crowd like that now for any of the bogus agendas. Doubtful. This one was three times the size of that famous anti-Vietnam rally that was in a scene from Forrest Gump. The one Norman Mailer wrote about as Armies of the Night. Only 100,000 showed up for that.

The counter demonstration to Beck’s rally only attracted some flies and homeless people looking for free food. Oh, yeah and some assorted nuts and flakes.

The press is going to town on the Beck Rally, but the good one to watch is in a couple of weeks. The 9/11 memorial. It’ll be interesting. Attending will be people like Geert Wilders the rising Dutch politician who wants the Koran banned in his country, as hate literature, to make a point about his country’s double standard. He also want Muslim immigration stopped because it’s threatening to swamp his tiny nation. The press has already branded him the new Hitler. Watch them go crazy in two weeks.

Like it or not, things are coming to a head. It’s like the late 1930s all over again. Forces are trying to push their agendas on unwilling populations and there will be blow back. Add to that a global economic meltdown and it can get really ugly. Our alleged president is not going to help matters any.

The left wants to make “the right” out to be all about racism and so on. But that’s not it at all. And the more they try to play that card, the more they will create a response they will not see coming. Yesterday was a sign of things to come. The people were well behaved and they picked up after themselves. The lefties are going out of their way to insult tea partiers and anyone else who sympathizes. They fail to understand that they’re making the majority of people in this country angrier and angrier with their relentless lies. Not a smart thing to do at all. As they are bound to discover.

Watch this video for a good overview. It’s from non-partisan Reason TV.
