Today (June 28th), Big Sean finally releases his debut album "Finally Famous". I know a lot of people thought this day was never going to happen but it did! And you will probably be pleasantly surprised at the album because it is definitely a solid project. If you're a Big Sean fan, do go out and support. #Detroit #idoit #boi

And furthermore, the one and only Beyonce has released her fourth studio album aptly named "4". If you haven't heard it, you are missing out because she is doing some hardcore singing this go round. Definitely check it out.

Beyonce teamed up with First Lady Michelle Obama for her ~~"Kids Need to Stop Eating So Much Junk Food and Getting So Fat"~~ "Let's Move" campaign and created this fun and super adorable video for everyone to remember how great Beyonce is. How many other artists could create a video where you can get your Dougie on, salsa, be patriotic and work out all at the same time??

So this singer Frank Ocean, who is also in the terrifying yet entertaining group, Odd Future, dropped his debut album, "Nostalgia, Ultra" in February. I just listened to it (#latepass), but I love it! He has a great, soothing voice and when the last song was over, I went right back to track one and listened to the entire album all over again.

Some of the stand out tracks include "We All Try", "Songs For Women" and the touching ode to lost father's "There Will Be Tears". You can download the album for free so what are you waiting for?

Friends With Benefits looks way better than "No Strings Attached", simply because it has way cooler people in it. Mila Kunis, Justin Timberlake, Emma Stone, Andy Samburg, Woody Harrelson, the cool mom from Easy A. Take your pick.

There's also a line from Mila Kunis's character throwing shade at Katherine Heigl! Yes! Someone else who realizes how terrible Katherine Heigl and her "I need a guy to teach me how not to be so uptight" movies are. Consider me sold.

Friends With Benefits will be in theaters July 22, 2011.

4. It was left up to Rebecca Black to teach us that yesterday was Thursday. Today is Friday. Tomorrow is Saturday. And Sunday comes after. We so excited.

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, BECAUSE OF THIS:

Prepare for the apocalypse. Hopefully it comes before "Friday".

Well, well, well. What do we have here? An R&Bish group from Toronto called The Weeknd that is being touted by the one and only Drake? It appears so.

One can see why Drake likes The Weeknd, a duo that consists of Abel Tesfaye and Jeremy Rose. Their music sounds similar to Drake's moody R&B tracks, just with better vocals. Check out their song "Wicked Games" below and let me know what you think!

As you probably don't know, I recently moved to Los Angeles from Detroit to do this screenwriting thing (yay!), but I have shamefully neglected my precious blog while in the process (boo!). However, I do have every intention of getting back into the blogging game and even have plans to do a major rehaul of the site. So stay tuned for an even better version of The Insomniac Zone, not sleeping on a computer near you in early 2011!

If you are a fan of the classic fairytale "Little Red Riding Hood", Amanda Seyfried, Catherine Hardwicke, Twilight or guys who look like a sexy mixture of Ed Westwick + Joaquin Phoenix, you should check out the trailer for Red Riding Hood.

What happens when you have one of the most ~~annoying~~ played song on radio right now?? You get every relevant rapper in the game to come together and get on the remix! Except for Tyga, because he's not that relevant so it doesn't really matter you made the original version of the song with him. #KanyeShrug

The best part of this song....(besides hearing Andre 3000 rap) is not having to hear about "Valentimes".

The Highs, Lows, and WTFs Of the 2010 MTV VMAs

I usually give a nice little break down of the Highs, Lows and WTF moments from award shows but if you tuned into yesterday's VMAs, you probably realized it was all just one complete flatline of boredom. But to sum it up really quickly:

- Eminem rapped angrily while Rihanna took a surprise break from filming that sure to be terrible movie, Battleship, to sing along with him.

- Chelsea Handler wasn't that funny. She probably should have hit the bottle before the show started.

- Some other stuff happened that was so unexciting I don't actually remember what it was.

- Justin Bieber showed why everyone is slowly being converted into a Belieber. Or did he?

- Usher glided around the stage.

But wait! There's more...

- Florence and the Machine did a really great job singing LIVE (remember when artists used to do that?). Definitely take a listen to Lungs if you get a chance.

- Taylor Swift sung some kind of exoneration song about that time Kanye West ran up on stage and socked her in the jaw...oh wait. No. He actually only snatched the mic from her. Big difference. (#KanyeShrug). Anyway, Taylor might wanna just stick to singing songs about being 15 or whatever. She should also just GTF over it already.

- Mary J. Blige stole the show from Drake. And he looked so nice too, what a shame. Swizz Beatz discovered that he can indeed fit into his son's clothes.

- B.o.B. performed that really really annoying "Airplanes" song. ~~Hayley Williams~~ Paramore rocked.

- Linkin Park rocked.

- Lady Gaga and Eminem won every award.

- The anticipation of what Kanye was going to do might actually been a little better than the performance but it was still good.
