/>

I just re-discovered Joan Rivers, and she delights me. Of course, I've known who she is for ages, but I never paid much attention. Then I started DVR'ing Fashion Police (I have a new baby, and in the very little down time I now have, easy TV is about all I can focus on). Joan's jokes crack me up, and I love the show. Then I discovered her reality show, Joan and Melissa. I usually avoid reality TV (except for House Hunters International!), but I watch this just for Joan. I love her because she's bold and brazen, she says what's on her mind, she wears bright, beautiful clothes, big jewelry, and fur, she's been around the block a hundred thousand times, she's had over 700 plastic surgery fixes and doesn't apologize for it, she's generous, she drinks, she loves "the gays," and most of all, she's FUNNY.

She makes me laugh out loud, and she makes me feel hopeful. Unlike Joan, I'm kind of quiet, kind of soft and shy, sometimes apologetic when I do state my mind, and not as confident and outspoken as I'd like to be. Joan is definitely herself, and by being herself, I feel like I have permission to be more of myself. I love that feeling, and I'm grateful to have her as a source of inspiration.

Who is your Joan Rivers?

Celestial Magic

I was musing recently about astrology. How is it possible that the alignment of the planets can serve as a roadmap for our lives? When you really think about it, it's totally profound. It shouldn't make sense in practical terms, but it does. And when you're working with an expert astrologer, the insights that your astrological chart can provide are mind-boggling.

Maja D'Aoust, an incredibly gifted astrologer I know, looked at my chart the other day and pointed to a specific section of the geometrical graph it formed. She asked me if my father had been distant (he had - I grew up with my mother after they divorced). It was just so amazing that she honed in on that one very particular and very specific aspect of my life...and that I was born into a situation that evolved into that. The complexities of this are ever-intreguing, because it makes one think about whether or not we have free will. I always believe we do, but then things like this make me realize that, free will or not, we come to life here on earth with certain issues to deal with and work through.

If you're interested in getting your chart done, Maja is awesome. I asked her what she thought about how and why astrology is so powerful, and she told me about cymatics and Ernst Chladni, a man who discovered that sound waves create a vibration that affects physical matter. Maja said that she believes the alignment of the planets can create a similar vibration, or pattern, that affects our physical life experiences. It's so profound that it's hard for me to really conceptualize, but it makes sense. And it is beyond fascinating.

Another one of my favorite astrologers is Susan Miller. Her AstrologyZone horoscopes are so great that I'm amazed that they're free. She's been spot-on with her forecasts for years now, and I just love her and am so grateful for her contributions!

There are so many ways to gain insight into our lives through divination: we've got astrology, the tarot and other divination cards, scrying, the i ching, runes, our own intuition, and much, much more. In fact, I just checked out Wikipedia and found all of these methods of divination. If you're really interested in figuring things out, as I am, there's no reason why you can't delve into whatever aspects of divination are calling out to you, and start learning how to understand (or start to understand) the grand scheme of things. It may take a lifetime of discovery, but what a fun way to continue to learn and grow!

Do it Anyway.

I came across this quote the other day, and it really stood out to me. It's called "Anyway: The Paradoxical Commandments" and apparently it's been around awhile. It sounded familiar to me, but I don't think I'd ever read the whole thing.
One of the biggest blocks that gets in the way of pure, true happiness for a lot of us is the fear of what other people will think if we switch gears, march to the beat of our own drum, and stop swimming in the same old murky pond everyone around us has been swimming in. Oftentimes, we're unknowingly held back by the limitations that were handed to us when we were little kids, believing that, for example, we're never going to be good at sports, that indulging our creativity is a waste of time, that money does not and never, ever will grow on trees, or that life's a bitch and then you die. It takes a lot of focus and energy to find our true path, and then to stay on it, but I've seen it happen again and again, and I know it's possible. When we listen to our intuition, which leads us to follow our hearts and our spirits, we can't ever go wrong.

So, on that note, a little inspiration:

"People are unreasonable, illogical and self-centered.
Love them anyway.

If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.

If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.

The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.

Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.

The biggest person with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest person with the smallest mind.
Think big anyway.

What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.

People really need help but may attack if you help them.
Help people anyway.

Give the world the best you have and you might get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you've got anyway."

― Dr. Kent M. Keith

And here's an addition that crossed my mind as I was looking for an image to go along with this:

"People may think you're an idiot for putting a Donald Roller Wilson picture of a monkey up with this post.
Put the picture up anyway."

Laughter is the Best Medicine

I've been working with a lot of wonderful, incredible clients this year. Recently, many have been asking your about life's purpose, and seeking to understand the deeper meanings of things you are experiencing; ways to heal old wounds, forge new ground, and find your true place in this world. While seriousness and dedication to discovering and then following your path is vital to your fulfillment, so is joy and laughter. We (myself included) put so much pressure on ourselves to do the right thing, and then feel guilty if we decide to do the wrong thing, or spin around in circles just trying to figure out what we're supposed to be doing, what it all means, and why. Sometimes the best thing we can do for ourselves it to take a break, to relax, and to laugh. Nothing relieves stress like pure, true, unrestricted laughter. This video cracked me up, so I had to share.

Psychic Intensive Workshop November 19th & 20th!

Are you ready to work on building your psychic/intuitive skills or fine-tune those you already have?
EXCITING NEWS!

I've teamed up again with renowned psychic, healer, and educator Debra Lynne Katz to create an amazing new course available through DailyOM.com: Manifest Money Now!

The unique methods and precise techniques presented in this course REALLY work; Debra and I are living proof! The overall philosophy we present in Manifest Money Now! is the same one that helped Debra publish 3 best-selling books and launch the International School of Clairvoyance. They also helped me to transition from laboring away in unfulfilling and underpaid marketing jobs to doing work that I love - and making money at it! Believe me, if I can do this, with all of the blocks and resistance to manifesting money that I've unintentionally gathered throughout my life, then I'm confident that YOU CAN TOO!!!!

In order to manifest money and live your dreams, you must take a leap of faith and make a dramatic shift in your life, leaving behind your old, outdated and ineffective patterns of resistance, so you can discover a new, richer and more fulfilling existence.
Highlights include:

Identifying your roadblocks to creating money

Healing your spirit-body connection so you can manifest with ease

Creating alignment in all areas of your life

Blasting through subconscious money-related limitations

Healing the negative limitations that others hold over your ability to succeed

Manifesting within the organizations with which you work

Separating yourself from the "gloom and doom" financial outlook of the economy

And much, much more!

Every single attendee had experiences with their psychic/intuitive abilities, by doing readings for others, practicing remote viewing (both on places, for fun, and people, to diagnose illness), contacting guides, and conducting powerful energetic healing techniques on themselves and on each other. I want to thank my wonderful teacher, Debra Lynne Katz, for her support and expert guidance; many of the techniques we used were ones she taught me during the private training program I participated in with her, as well as from her books, "You are Psychic," "Extraordinary Psychic," and "Freeing the Genie Within" (see my sidebar for more info).

One of the things that struck me the most about this weekend was how easy it was for everyone to tap into their abilities with the proper meditative techniques. The biggest thing that stood in the way was self-doubt, which is something I'm familiar with as well, as I practiced diligently for over two years before feeling I was good enough to charge for my services. I've learned that the only way to overcome doubts with your intuitive abilities is to gain experience by practicing and getting used to how guidance comes through. It may take time, but if you feel this is your path, it is definitely worth it.

I'm grateful for the personal healing that my intuitive development path has afforded me, for the opportunity to be of service by offering sessions and healings to others, and to be able to help people tap into their own intuitive abilities through workshops and private intuitive development trainings.

My next workshop, Discover your Past Lives, will be held at House of Intuition on Sunday, August 14 from 3-4:30pm. It's inspired by the work of Dr. Brian Weiss, one of my favorite past lives experts - so if you're interested, check it out!
Do you hate your job, your bank account balance, or your love life? Don't prolong your suffering - get to the root of these problems and start living the life you've always dreamed of! Join me on Sunday, June 5 at 3pm at House of Intuition (2237 Sunset Blvd in Los Angeles) for an empowering workshop that will help you release and move past these issues.

We all have “blocks” in different areas of our lives that affect how we see ourselves, how we deal with issues, and ultimately how we direct the course of our destiny. Oftentimes, blocks cause us to remain stuck in negative or even just “blah" patterns that repeat over and over. Years go by, and we become frustrated and feel powerless over the fact we can’t seem to lose weight, manifest the relationship, career, or financial portfolio of our dreams, or move into the house we’ve always wanted.

In this hands-on workshop, we’ll go through several very powerful energetic clearing techniques that will help you to identify and release your blocks. We’ll follow with very specific and highly effective visualization techniques that will help you get on the path to creating the life of your dreams.

You can take your power back and direct the course of your life! Come prepared to release the old, stuck energy that is holding you back, and you will definitely feel some pretty big shifts take place!

Don't just wait or hope that things will change - take control NOW and direct the course of your life! Join me at House of Intuition on Sunday, June 5 from 3-4:30pm; the cost is just $25. To register, sign up via Meetup or call House of Intuition at 213.413.8300.

Asking for Signs

The idea of asking for a "sign" when you need one never came on my radar until I started reading about intuitive development. Sonia Choquette, one of my favorite teachers, is a strong advocate for asking for signs to provide guidance for us along our path - and she's right. Nothing is more incredibly inspiring than asking for a sign, and then receiving it. We're kind of out on a limb here in this life. We don't always know what's up, where we're going, or if and how we're going to get there. The thing is, there is a higher power at play, and turning to that higher power for guidance can really help us in ways we've never imagined.

One of my greatest difficulties in doing intuitive consultations for a living has been recognizing the fact that the information that comes to me in readings is really, truly, genuinely helpful and useful to people. I grew up with a background in the metaphysical. I trained with the best psychics in the world. I completed an intensive training program and did free readings for an entire YEAR before feeling it would be okay for me to charge for the services I provide. And yet, because of personal issues, I still have doubts as to whether or not I am doing a good enough job at what I do. I want to be sure I'm being of service, not just blabbing to people. I've had bad readings, and I'd hate to be the person delivering them - how awful would that be!?!

This issue came up strongly for me this past December, a month that was incredibly busy, but one that was interspersed with several intense planetary and energetic configurations. And so, not knowing quite what to do or think while being so entrenched in the middle of things (as we simply ARE in life), I asked, in the wee hours of the morning of January 5th, for a sign that the work I do is meaningful, that the things I see and predict are real, and that I am on the right track with doing the work that I do.

What I'm about to share is pretty incredible: in fact, I'm still reeling from the signs that came through the SAME DAY that I asked from them. At about 10am, I got an email from a repeat client I'd done a reading for a few months ago. He said he needed to reach out to me for healing and advice because his heart had been broken, and that I'd told him in his last reading to watch out for this girl he was just beginning to fall for, because she was bad news. And she was. I was devastated to hear how hurt he'd been, but on the flip side of the coin, amazed and grateful for the sign that the information I'd given him in that reading had been correct. Had he only listened! Well - I'm sure he will next time. He and I are both on the same page with that one.

At around 2pm, I arrived at the House of Intuition in Silverlake, where I do readings on Wednesdays and Fridays. My first appointment came in - a young woman I'd done a reading before several months ago, back in November. She said I'd told her she'd get a particular job in January - and she'd just received the offer that morning. I was blown away yet again.

At 4pm, I had another session, this time again with someone I'd read for previously, a woman named Angel. At this point, after having received two signs already, I realized that the fact that her name was Angel was probably not a coincidence. She said she'd taken the advice I'd given in her previous reading and read Sonia Choquette's book Ask Your Guides, and had connected with an incredible spirit guide who was a powerhouse of love, guidance, and assistance. The bulk of our session involved my communicating with this spirit guide for additional specific guidance pertaining to her life. It was wonderful!

As if those weren't enough signs, the universe came through one more time, with a last appointment at the House - a woman named Angeli. You know what I was thinking - come on, TWO people with angelic names in ONE DAY? This was beyond coincidence. I loved working with her in the course of the session, and felt that true guidance came through that was very sound, practical, and helpful.

See what I mean about signs? All you have to do is ask. Let's start this year off by expecting to receive signs, to hear and accept the guidance that comes to us, and to act on it. I swear to you that it works. And I would not be saying this if I'd not experienced it firsthand. So join me! Let's go for it! Let's take the plunge and look for the best, highest, most wonderful, enlightened guidance there is - and then be open to acting on it.

How to Rely on Your Intuition in Group Interactions

Learning how to activate and really trust your intuition on a moment-to-moment basis is not a skill that develops overnight; it can take years of concentrated effort. Many of us need a great deal of calm, peaceful “quiet time” to train ourselves to listen to that subtle inner voice, accept a hunch, or interpret a vibe, and to get a sense of what these messages mean before jumping in and taking action. Quite often, however, we don’t have the luxury of working with our sixth sense and allowing our intuition to unfold on this type of schedule.

We lead busy lives, surrounded by people, constantly changing circumstances, and distractions that throw us off and prevent us from being centered. Most of us have jobs or are involved in group settings (activities involving family and friends, volunteer work, classes, etc.) that demand so much of our mental and physical energy that it’s very difficult to take the time to tune in to what our intuition is telling us. That doesn’t mean it’s not possible, but it requires a certain type of focus.

Observe the Group Dynamic

One of the most important ways to start using your intuition at work or in a group setting is to take a mental step back from the interactions of the group. Stop talking, and just observe what others are saying, how they’re moving, and the expressions they’re making. Ask yourself, “What’s really going on here?” Watch the group dynamic, quietly and subtly separating yourself. Notice how people interact with one another, and where you fit into the overall dynamic. Once you determine how the group operates, you can decide how you want to participate. You don’t have to decide all of this whilst among the group at that very moment; just gather your information. With time, and with your intention, your intuition will help you to decide what your place in the group should be, what others want and need from you, and how you can deliver (or avoid delivering) that.

Reserve Judgment

Part of the problem with using our intuition when surrounded by other people is that we can tend to filter things through a lens that’s more focused on “What do they think of me?” vs. what’s really going on with them in their own lives. Therefore, to effectively harness your sixth sense when you’re surrounded by others, you need to see situations through their point of view. In order to see these situations clearly, it’s important to reserve judgment. Then, you can ask yourself questions such as “What are their motives?” “What do they want to get out of this group dynamic?” “Can they be trusted?” “What is their life story like?” You can ask yourself these questions while others are talking, or immediately after you’ve interacted with them. Just be aware that knowing where others are coming from can help you to interact with them on a clear and truly enlightened level.

Censor Yourself

If you’re serious about developing the ability to use your intuition at work or in a group setting, you need to protect your interests by censoring yourself. This doesn’t mean setting up a barrier or shield that sets you apart from others – it’s more about turning down the volume on your ego so that you can receive the messages your intuition is piping into the mix. Do you blab on and on about your weekend, your dreams, thoughts, and interests, just airing your life out for any and everyone to hear (regardless of their interest)? If you’re a Talkative Tony or a Chatty Kathy, chances are you’re not tuning in. Let’s face it; most people are more interested in what’s going on with themselves than they are about what’s going on with you. So if you want to put your intuition in the driver’s seat at work, stop talking and start listening. You’ll be amazed at how much more space you create for your intuition to start unfolding.

Getting used to using intuition in your daily life takes time, practice, and, above all, patience. While it’s undoubtedly strong, your sense of intuition is quiet, subtle, and surprisingly easy to ignore. The only way to allow your intuition to flow and incorporate it into every action or decision you make is to set your intention, then commit yourself in the same manner in which you might decide to exercise regularly or start a new regimen of healthy eating. The more you rely on your intuition, the stronger it will become.

Is it My Intuition? Guest Article by Jim Wawro, Author of "Ask Your Inner Voice"

Is it My Intuition or am I Making this Up?

A question people often ask themselves about inner messages is, “How can I tell whether this message is from my inner voice or just from my conscious mind?”

Conscience is not the inner voice

Actually, you already know something about discerning the source of inner guidance. Conscience, for example, is the first inner guidance that everyone recognizes as being distinct from the inner chatter going on in their minds. It can come with a feeling, a pang of conscience. In fact, conscience is so common that, if you don’t have one, society calls you a sociopath! So you already have some understanding about discerning the source of inner guidance.

You also know the “sound” of conscience: it sounds the same as the internal monologue that we normally hear, although sometimes it’s stronger. And there’s an element of conscience that you know but may not realize until it’s pointed out: conscience is always negative. Conscience never tells us what to do; it only says what not to do. It only says, “Don’t!”

Conscience is not always right

Research has shown that conscience is sort of a soup made up of such things as upbringing, school, guilt, fear, and societal norms. But conscience is not always the inner voice because it’s not always right. There have been times in human history when, in hindsight, the societal norm has been incorrect. Examples include the Inquisition and apartheid. The inner voice is more than conscience, more than each person’s moral compass.

The feeling of intuition

We recognize intuition in hindsight when it has come to us as a valid creative inspiration, a useful insight, or the solution to a problem. (And sometimes intuition can come not as a thought, but as a feeling, a vision, or a knowing.) But there are many voices in our head in addition to intuition and conscience. There is also the negative voice that’s regularly pointing out our many flaws, the critical inner voice.

So, how to tell your inner voice from conscience, the critical inner voice, and other thoughts? Success Coach Michael Neal catches the flavor of the feeling of the inner voice when he says: “How can you tell the inner voice from all of the other voices in your head? The inner voice is the one that doesn’t think you suck.” If the question is whether an inner message is from your intuition or is just your conscious mind, concentrate on the feeling of the message. The inner message with the supportive feeling is likely from your inner voice.

Jim Wawro, author (Ask Your Inner Voice), consultant, and former senior partner in a 1400-lawyer firm, blogs and may be reached through his website at http://activateintuition.com/blog.

How do you know if they're for real or full of baloney? And if they're for real, what if they tell you something scary? What if you get a life sentence you're not prepared for?

The first and most important thing to do before booking a session with anyone is to get feedback from other people in order to help you determine whether or not the person is legit and honest. If nobody you know personally has been to the psychic/intuitive you're thinking of seeing, ask for testimonials or reviews. You can also ask to speak to the person first before committing to having a reading. Most importantly, trust your gut. If you get the feeling this person is right for you, go with it. If you feel doubt or fear in any way, wait a while.

The second thing to be aware of is that you, too, play a part in how the reading will go. The best reading I ever had in my entire life occurred when I had a very specific question in mind. It was a big question, but it was specific. I wasn't even allowed to verbalize the question, so I'm glad I had it fixed so strongly in my mind, because the reader telepathically picked up on it and worked very hard to answer it, to my great relief.

Don't go into a reading with an "I don't care, let's just see what comes up" attitude. Be specific. Now, that said, being specific does not necessarily mean you have to have a question. You can specifically want to know what the reader sees in your life overall, which is a great way to find out more about how you're projecting your energies, as the reader will pick up on the things that are coming up with the most prevalence. Just don't go in with a wishy-washy attitude. Have clarity.

The third way to get the most out of a reading is to be as open and understanding as possible. It is your duty as a seeker to understand the nature of psychic messages and imagery, and to play a part in interpreting the information that comes through. Try not to take every single thing that the psychic or intuitive says literally; if they, for example, see a knife in your heart chakra, know that this is obviously an energetic matter, and ask them to remove it; if they don't do that sort of thing, ask them for tips on how you can do it yourself.

A friend of a friend despises psychics (and probably will for the rest of her life) because not one, but two of them saw a malformed baby around her/in her energy field. She was scared to death that this meant they were making a prediction about her future child. What she failed to realize was that they were seeing her Teratoma, a gigantic tumor with an eye, teeth, and hair that had grown in her pelvic region when she was a teenager. She had had this tumor successfully removed (in fact, the doctor asked to save it because it was the most remarkable specimen of its kind), but obviously it had such an impact on her life that the energetic residue of it was still there.

The last thing to remember is that the future is not set in stone. It is mutable and changeable. I once had a reading with none other than Sylvia Browne, and she saw me becoming successful with a certain arsy craftsy project I was working on at the time. I decided not to continue the project for various reasons, and therefore changed that outcome. So, if an Intuitive sees something that is good for your future, know that you do have to continue doing things in a certain way to make that materialize. The same goes for negative possibilities. If it comes up in a reading that you may have a heart problem down the line, stop eating all that bacon and get yourself to the gym. If an intuitive doesn't see love in your future, don't accept the notion that you'll be alone forever! Ask them what to change to make it happen - should you join Match, try speed dating, or take up a new hobby?

They say the best readings confirm what you already know. Therefore, go into a reading with an open mind. Expect the best: expect to receive the very clearest, most helpful information you can use. Engage in the reading, and ask for clarity if things don't make sense. And, know that just because someone sees something happening, that doesn't necessarily mean that it will. You can take steps to change something for the better, just as much as you can take steps to avoid going down a path that may at this point in time seem inevitable. Remember, it's your life, and you do have control.

Reincarnation

As an Intuitive Consultant, I constantly see evidence that our souls return to life again and again. There are some really incredible books that address the topic: my favorites are "Many Lives, Many Masters" by Dr. Brian Weiss, "Children Who Remember Past Lives: A Question of Reincarnation" by Ian Stevenson, and "Life before Life: A Scientific Investigation of Children's Memories of Previous Lives" by Dr. Jim Tucker.

I recently saw Dr. Brian Weiss at a day-long workshop presented by Hay House in Los Angeles with over 800 people in attendance. It was incredible; he is a brilliant, witty, highly spiritual and humble being, and he spoke about his experiences and led us through several very powerful past life regressions. If you ever have the opportunity to work with him, I highly recommend it.

One of the services I offer is Past Life readings, and I'm honored to get to share that experience with people. The funny thing about past life readings is that, while you can't always go back and verify whether or not, for instance, you were a priestess in ancient Egypt, things almost always come up that resonate with people. I recently did a reading for a wonderful, beautiful young woman who had been an acrobat in a circus in a past life. It seemed that she was not able to speak. While not flying through the air or walking a tightrope, she spent many happy hours outdoors, alone, in nature. I also saw her in another life as a widow in a black dress, looking sadly and longingly out of a window. At the end of the reading (we saw about 6 other fascinating lives), she told me that she loves to take vows of silence and has often done so at various periods of her life, and that she really treasures her alone time. She also noted that as a child, she would play this game where she'd pretend she was a widow, that her husband had left her, abandoned and all alone. She'd get so into it that she would actually become quite over-wrought! The other lives resonated as well on many different levels.

Another client, a very precious, soft-spoken little elfin girl, was incredibly depressed, and had been so her entire life. I connected to her energy field and asked for the reason why - to see if it was a chemical imbalance, a traumatic childhood event, or something to that effect. The first thing I saw was an image of her as a beleaguered old man, pining away in a horrible prison cell, alone, distraught, and painfully heart broken. I described this to her, and she gasped; she'd actually drawn images of the prison that I described over and over again as a child. She also confessed that she has spent most of her life feeling as though her heart had been broken. The reading helped explain the root of her condition; she'd been born into this life with some very powerful, terrible memories from the previous one.

My own past life experiences have led me to discover a myriad of things about my true essence, my spirit. I learned about these lives through readings I received and through Dr. Weiss's hypnotic regressions (both at workshops and on his CDs). I've been in India countless times, in Greece, which makes sense, because I knew Athens like the back of my hand the first time I went, and in France, which is another country that I love like home. While we do have to spend time focusing on our lessons in this life, knowing where we've come from is like holding a precious treasure map of previous life experiences; where we lived, who we shared our lives with, and what lessons we learned.

If you're interested in discovering more about your soul's evolution throughout the ages, check out the books I mentioned above...they are proof positive that past lives really do exist. And if you're interested in delving in further, book a past life reading today, either here or at the House of Intuition, where I work on Wednesdays and Fridays!

New Article on Symbolism in Vision Magazine

Have you ever noticed that, if you don't go to the dentist for a cleaning as often as you should, tons of plaque just builds up on your teeth? It magically accumulates, making your mouth feel grungier and dirtier, until you intentionally go and get it chipped away and scraped off.

This happens automatically with your physical body. The funny thing is, the same thing is true for your energy body. You automatically accumulate energetic "plaque" unless you actively work to break it down and get it out of your space. How does energetic plaque look and feel? It's different for everyone, but common results are major issues that keep popping up in your life, or specific negative emotions or feelings that are triggered by something you just can't seem to shake. Energetic plaque can really hold you back, and make your life experience quite difficult at times.

Here's an example: let's say that, as a child, several authority figures were disrespectful to you. Unless you've undergone extensive therapy or energy work to release the physical, mental, psychological, and energetic effects of how this made you feel and act/react, chances are the energetic residue of this interplay is still a part of your life experience. You might strongly fear, resent, or even hate authority figures. You may possibly attract disrespectful authority figures (or would-be authority figures) into your life.

As an Intuitive, I've seen this energetic plaque on all of my clients. Everyone has build-up; even little babies have it, carried over from past life experiences. The easiest way to get rid of it is to go to a trusted energy worker who you know can help clear your aura and chakras, or energy centers. They will tell you what they see and work with you to release it. But on an ongoing basis, it would be great if you could do your own maintenance; your own energetic brush and floss.

The most powerful way to do this on your own is to meditate on a regular basis. If, for example, you know you have an issue with authority figures, imagine yourself releasing this pattern. Just visualize it dissipating, and literally feel yourself lighten up as the energy shifts. You can see people from your past disappearing; imagine people in your present and future treating you with respect. Affirm that you are releasing this pattern. If you know you have energetic plaque but can't quite find the source, you can set the intention to release whatever it is that is not in alignment with your highest good.

If meditation doesn't work for you, you can try writing this process out. To stick with the authority figure theme, write about your past, identifying things people did that offended you. Think about people or situations in your life now that mirror what happened in the past. Then write an affirmation that you release this pattern, and refuse to let it be a part of your life any longer. Read this affirmation daily; make it your mantra.

It's important to realize that you have control over your life force energy. You can allow the energy from people and situations to build up, reinforcing that dirty mouth feeling throughout your energy body. You can also decide to end a destructive cycle, and to clear your field of unwanted energy. You have the power to take the reigns, and care for your energy body just as you do your physical one. With proper care and maintenance, you will see dramatic shifts begin to take place, and you will literally steer your life into the direction you’d like it to go in.

How to Trust Your Gut

Everyone has intuition; we just don't all rely on it as much as we do our rational, analytical minds. Societal conditioning leads most of us to second-guess ourselves when it comes to intuition; what if that gut feeling, hit, or hunch is crazy, totally off, or, worst of all, WRONG? These realistic fears often hold us back, or influence us to make decisions that seem to "make more sense" than otherwise.

The problem is, our analytical minds can be just as wrong...even more so...than our intuition. Intuition is about subtle energy, feelings, and vibrations. It's infinitely wiser, and can help immensely if it's well-developed. Because we've spent most of our lives trusting our brains, though, the only way to make the switch is to let the brain ease in to the intuition. When it comes to learning how to trust our gut, we really have to start merging the two sides - analytical and intuitive - together.

How do you do this, though? The easiest way is to start small, and play little games where the stakes don't matter. You can first begin to tune into your intuition by noticing how you feel about a person or situation (happy or sad? anxious or excited? angry or lovey?), or by paying careful attention to thoughts that float into your head unexpectedly. If any of these feelings or thoughts or impressions require action, check in with your analytical mind to see if you'd be comfortable with that. If so, go for it. If not, just take note of the intuitions and then go ahead with your mind's decision. Little by little, you'll start to see that your gut is pretty right on. It just takes time and practice to trust it.

For example, I met with a client last week who had really started paying attention to the impressions and "messages" she got, which, in several cases, all happened to be little premonitions of future events that particular week. She didn't have to "do" anything, but she just took note. And guess what? They all came true. All of them.

Another client gets goosebumps when she knows she's making an incredibly good decision for herself. It's so funny - but those goosebumps are never wrong. The best intuitive coaches in the world always say that the body never lies. It can't. So trust the hairs on the back of your neck, the goosebumps, etc.

I have a friend who started developing her intuition by practicing "psychic free-flow." She would take time out to state and then write down her hunches/intuitive impressions about things. Not all of them were accurate at first, but in time, as she learned to switch over from her analytical mind, more and more became so. Now she can just blurt out her intuitive impression, and know it won't mis-guide her. That's how she connects with her gut feelings.

Learning to trust your gut should be fun and easy. If they taught intuition in grade school along with traditional studies, it'd be like this: classes for developing your analytical mind would involve reading and memorizing, then taking multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank tests that you've studied for. Classes for developing your intuition would involve painting a picture of the answer (with brushes or your fingers!), doing an interpretive dance, checking in with your body, belting out a song at the top of your lungs, or acting out a scene with dolls. Indulge yourself with this. It works!

How a Reading I Received Improved My Life

A few weeks ago, I got a reading from Debra Lynne Katz, author of three books on intuitive development and one of my personal mentors and teachers. I knew I needed help with direction in my life, but I just wasn't quite sure about what to do. Yes, I meditate, study, read, and do intuitive work on myself all the time, but I still get stuck in my own head and my own emotional patterns. That's when getting professional guidance really comes in handy.

First and foremost, Debra is just wonderful. She's so sweet, and kind, funny, and down to earth. If you're interested in learning more about developing your own psychic abilities, I highly recommend buying her books (you'll refer back to them again and again - see my link to her books on this page) and/or enrolling in her workshops. Because I know her, I had faith that what Debra would tell me in the reading would be accurate and helpful. That's an important thing to consider in a reading; if you want maximum effectiveness, you should go to someone you trust and believe in; someone whose advice you know you will follow.

Debra told me a number of extremely helpful things, but the one that most directly affected my daily experience was this: she told me to get out and about more, and to travel. I'd been so hung up on working and writing, on being dutiful and careful, that it was really starting to get to me, but I couldn't see that it would be OK to take a break. I love to travel, but I wasn't willing to give myself permission to do so. I'd never told Debra how much I love traveling; she picked up on this through her own intuitive abilities, and confirmed for me the fact that my spirit thrives when I'm going to new places and seeing new things. It's good for me, and it's good for my work. I knew this on some level, but my habitual mindset made me think that that wasn't appropriate to leave, that I had to stay here and work constantly in order to produce results. Since that reading, I've taken several really fun weekend trips, and I'm going on a longer trip next week. I feel liberated, and wholesome, doing this. I feel more free, and alive; and my work has actually improved as a result.

That may sound pretty simple, but the quality of my daily life over the past few weeks has been better because I followed Debra's advice. In essence, she gave me the permission I wasn't willing to grant for myself. That's the beauty of a good intuitive session, and that's what I aim to do in my work with clients. The smallest little piece of practical advice can make such a big difference in the level of happiness and satisfaction we experience in our lives.

Do You Really Want to Know?

A lot of things can come up in an intuitive consultation session. Hopefully, most of it will resonate with you, and help empower you to make healthy decisions in order to move forward in your life.

Sometimes, however, you may receive information that you're not exactly thrilled about. For example, I recently saw a documentary that was produced about three years ago. In one scene, a young woman went to visit a psychic, and asked about her new boyfriend. The psychic told her that their association was based on business, or had to do with career/business, and that the relationship would not last in the long run. The young woman was incensed, and badmouthed the psychic afterward, questioning her professionalism and basically characterizing her as a quack.

I was curious about the whole thing, so I went online and found out that the guy ended up dumping the woman. So, as the psychic predicted, their relationship ultimately did not work out. And yes, the pair met during the course of making the film, and their budding relationship became a big part of the film, so the relationship was in fact somewhat related to business. I suppose that if the psychic had padded her words a little more gently, she would not have angered the girl so; nobody wants to hear that their new relationship will fail. But...she asked. And she got her answer.

Basically, if you are not energetically or physically prepared to hear the truth about a situation, it will not make sense for you to ask about it, because chances are, you will not like the information you receive, and you'll spend a lot of unnecessary time being upset about it.

Once, several years ago, I did a session for a client who just found shocking and solid evidence that her boyfriend had cheated on her at least twice. She forgave him, and he swore he hadn't done anything wrong (despite explicit photos on his camera). And so, in the reading, she asked me if he would do it again. I tried to set my analytical opinion aside (umm...it wouldn't take a psychic to guess the probability on that one), and checked my vibes on the matter. And the answer was yes, he would do it again, and the girl would be better off without him. But she was not ready to hear that. I tried to tell her with as much sensitivity as possible that although he loved her, he did have a problem with monogamy. She didn't want to hear this, and said that he'd promised to be faithful to her, so I must be wrong. I didn't want to argue with her and piss her off, so I let it go; she would deal with it when she's ready.

In another instance, a client asked about her boyfriend, and I saw that he was, essentially, a destructive ratlike creature who would destroy her life. My vibes gave me the green light to tell her this, and she said she knew it. She was ready to hear this, and needed validation, which I gave her, in order to end the relationship.

I'm supposed to be somewhat of an expert on these things, but I get tripped up too, and often have to remind myself that I DO want to know the truth, not just what I think I want to hear. Not too long ago, I got very upset when my psychic friend told me that a job I was considering accepting would end up being just plain awful. I so didn't want to hear that! But I knew in my heart that she was right, and after fuming about the general unfairness of the situation, I decided not to take the position. I later got validation that this was the right step to take. The reading served as a catalyst to help me make a very good decision. I needed to know, and I was ready for the answer.

So, all in all, if you're seeking guidance, be it from a psychic intuitive, your own deck of oracle cards or any other means, you need to ask yourself: do you really want to know?

5 Ways to Make Intuitive Decisions

Everyone has intuition. We all sense things and know things, and we all use our own innate intuitive abilities to navigate our way through life, even though, at times, it may seem like we're not doing it as much as we'd like to.

The fact of the matter is, we have to balance our intuition with our very strong analytical mind, and our ego, and the opinions and thoughts of everyone else in our world. When we're too close to an issue, too tangled and caught up in it, it's extremely difficult to take a step back and see things with clarity and insight. That's where intuitive consultations can be incredibly helpful. Whenever I'm in a quandary over a big, confusing, scary, complicated decision, I always call one (or several) of my intuitive friends for advice.

But it's really empowering, and fun, to rely on your own intuition to make the right judgment calls. It's not always necessary to get advice, to seek a second opinion, or to get validation from other people. We're in charge of our own lives, and if we learn to trust ourselves, we might find that we're pretty capable of deciding what's best for ourselves.

So, that said, here are 5 ways I've learned to make decisions using intuition:

Before trying each method, move your body around - stretch your arms and legs, jump up and down, or get up and walk around a little bit, so you can get your energy flowing, clear your head, and energetically step away from the issue at hand. Take a few deep breaths to center your mind.

1. Present the question to yourself out loud. Right after that, without even thinking, just make your choice, your decision, out loud. Say it. Chances are the wisdom that comes through is right; it's straight from your intuitive self.

2. Close your eyes, and run through the scenario in your head. Imagine yourself in the outcome of one decision; note how you feel and what you see in your mind's eye. Then imagine yourself in the other decision, and note how you feel and what you see in your mind's eye with that one. Pick the one that looks and feels best to you.

3. If you have time, put the whole matter aside for a while. Just (if you can) forget about it. Pretend you don't have to think about anything. Eat something delicious, go get some exercise, go shopping, watch a movie, read a book, and get a good night's sleep. The next morning when you wake up, the right answer might just pop into your head.

4. Write it down. Present the choice, and put it out there. Remember to try and stay objective. Hold your pen loosely, and, if you are able to, try and put yourself into a calm, meditative state. Just zone out. And then write down your answer. This is like automatic writing - just let the information flow, and trust that it is correct for you.

5. Get a deck of cards, shuffle them, and ask your question. Cards are not just for psychics or professional intuitives; anyone can use them. And they work. I like the cards Colette Baron-Reid has created; they're very pretty, and also very straightforward.

If you're really stuck, try all of the above! Another thing that will help you get comfortable with these methods is to use them in small decisions - like what flavor of ice cream to get, what movie to see, where to go for dinner. Keep testing it out, and you'll find that when it comes to the bigger choices, you really can rely on yourself.

Spiritual Integrity

My friend and I were in a beautiful New Age shop the other day. The shop owner had great things for sale, although they were all pretty expensive. I'm half Indian, and it always amazes me to see how people can charge $200 for something Indian that's heavy and pretty and unique looking, that probably only cost about $5 in India.

There was another lady in the shop, a very overweight young woman who was all caught up in these candles the store owner makes. They are really, really beautiful candles: works of art. They look like the kind in big glass cylinders that you can get at the 99 cent store, but the lady decorates them very, very prettily. So lovely to look at, and, get this: the owner ALSO infuses them with magical powers as she makes them. So if you burn the one that's for love, it will help draw a lover to you. If you burn the one for money, it will bring you money. The girl bought tons of candles and the lady gave her a discount because she was a good customer. The total was $230.

My friend and I didn't like the vibe in that store. Firstly, the store owner totally ignored us in favor of her paying customer. It was like we didn't even exist, as though we'd walked into someone's front parlor uninvited. And this was a small space! Secondly, when we listened to what she was telling the gullible buyer, we were grossed out. It was just icky stuff, making her believe burning these freaking candles was going to completely change her life, telling her how she had to be all the diva and shit around other people, but not in a "you're fantastic!" way, but in a weird, uncool way.

I'm all for burning candles. Especially ones that smell good: Votivo candles are my favorite. And I love the random spell or two (for good things). I will get together with friends and do fun ceremonies, like writing down what we want to do or achieve and burning a candle for peace or healing or whatnot. I think getting into the ceremony of these things can help you re-program your mind, and help you get to where you want to go, or at least enjoy the path.

But what I don't like is telling someone that burning a certain very expensive candle will fix their life. It's like hoodwinking them. We saw that girl trudge out to her fancy new BMW with her designer handbag and designer sunglasses and figured she has money to burn, so it's not like she was struggling.

But still. She was searching for help, for truth, for meaning. And alls she got was some un-scented candles.

Trail Blazers!

I had several amazing consultations this week with some of the most incredibly creative people I've ever met. It was inspiring to me to see the work that they're doing and the difference they're making in the world. We're talking trail blazers here. Do they have insecurities? Yes. Were they dealt some hardships in life? You don't even want to know. Do they sometimes take a step back and say, "What the hell am I doing here? Am I still on track?" Totally - that's one of the reasons they booked a session! But they didn't let circumstances stop them from moving forward in life, from doing the very work that feeds their souls. They still suffer some financial hardships. They can get scattered all over the place with different projects, and they've been known to work so hard that other areas of their lives have had to go neglected for certain periods of time. But they have chosen to follow their dreams, no matter what. Their dreams are more important than following the status quo. That's what it takes, I think, to be a trailblazer.

I've met with other clients who want to follow their dreams, but get very much stuck on the "no matter what" part. I know what it's like, because I've been there. In fact, I still go there. I've stayed at jobs that were virtually toxic for my very SOUL because I needed to pay the rent. I mean, come on. We have to be practical here. And yet, there is something so truly incredible about committing to something that feels so right for you. I've heard time and time again about authors who got up at 5am to work on their novels before their day jobs began. Or people who just do whatever it takes to get to where they want to be, to achieve their dreams, to accomplish their goals.

It's easy to be lazy, or to succumb to fear and trudge on that same old treadmill, day in and day out, because you know exactly where it's going and there are rails to hold on to so you don't fall off. But what would happen if you just took a moment to listen to your soul, to really try and figure out what it is you'd really LOVE to do with your life - and then decided to just go for it, to close your ears to the naysayers, to shut off your "Yeah, but" voice, to say to hell with your self-esteem, and just jump in with both feet? It might be fun to try - because, really: you never know.

Changes...

Thanks to the amazing and talented Charlene Murphy, The Intuitive Realm is now on my very own website, Krishanti.com.
I'll be making lots of tweaks and changes over the next few days, so bear with me. I'm scared and excited to be so "out there" with this stuff - it's a big step. I will have to post about the amazing circumstances of how I met Charlene - it was truly one of those "universe" things.
Happy!
