Once you pair your iPhone with the UniKey accessory, locking and unlocking the door become just a matter of tapping on the exterior of the lock. A flashing green light will let you know if the door is successfully locked or unlocked. No interaction with your device is required because the door is actually unlocked once Kevo detects your iPhone to be in the locks range. The similar technology on some of the upscale vehicles, where you can lock/unlock and even push-button start your car if the key in close proximity.

The accessory will initially launch as an iOS-exclusive because “Apple is just so much further along with their low energy protocol” compared to mobile devices from other vendors.
