POLKA CELEBRATION with Joe & Debbie Wondolowski premieres this afternoon from 2-3pm Eastern Time
(1-2pm Chicago Time). Their program will air on Sunday afternoons (new show for the week) with a repeat on Tuesday mornings from 11am - 12pm Eastern Time (10-11am Chicago Time). Joe & Debbie are from St. Louis , Missouri.

SHOUTCAST/Windows Media Servers Down

This morning, a Trojan virus damaged the system registry on our main server. The virus even got through our firewall. As a result, the SHOUTCAST/Windows Media feeds will be down for most of today until we can restore the system and there will be no LIVE programming today.

The QuickTime feed is not affected as that is part of the BackBone system.

We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused, and will be back up as soon as possible.

The Polka Jammer Network has added a new chat room on it’s website. It is called the PJN Pub. Here you can meet up with all your friends and have a good time.

Go to www.polkajammernetwork.org, click on CHAT, select a screen name, and you’ll be in.

You will need the latest version of Java for the ste to work. Go to www.java.com and download the latest version.

Currently, the chat room is open during all LIVE shows, but we will consider opening up the room all day if there is sufficient listener intetest.

New Shows Coming To The Polka Jammer Network in October

We would like to announce the addition of 3 new IJ’s to the Polka Jammer Network beginning in October.

Joe and Debbie Wondolowski will be joining the Polka Jammer Network beginning on Sunday, October 5th. The couple hails from St. Louis, MO and air a show on Saturday mornings from 9-10am CDT (10-11am EDT) locally in St. Louis over WEW 770AM (streaming on the Internet at www.wewradio.com).

Their show is called POLKA CELEBRATION, and will air on Sunday afternoons from 2-3pm EDT (1-2pm CDT) with a repeat on Tuesday mornings from 11am - 12pm EDT (10-11am CDT) beginning on Sunday, October 5th.

We also like to announce the addition of Todd Zaganiacz to our lineup beginning on Tuesday, October 7th. Todd is from South Deerfield, MA. He has a show called THE POLKA CAROUSEL which airs on Sunday mornings LIVE from 6-9am EDT (5-8am CDT) locally in MA over WMUA 91.1FM (streaming on the Internet at www.wmua.org)

Todd will air a LIVE show on the Jammer called THE POLKA NITE CAP. The program will air on Tuesday nights LIVE from 10pm - 12am EDT (9-11pm CDT). It will be rebroadcast on Friday mornings from 11am - 1pm EDT (10am - 12pm CDT) beginning on Tuesday, October 7th.

We welcome Joe & Debbie Wondolowski and Todd Zaganiacz to our family of IJ’s!

Show Archive Section/Dial-Up Feed

As you may know, we recently added a SHOW ARCHIVE section to the Polka Jammer website for the convenience of those listeners who are unable to tune in to our shows durng their regularly scheduled days/times. However, we have been receiving reports from dialup listeners of excesive buffering. We resorted to obtaning a backup dialup feed to test the signal. It turns out that the feed coud not support the bitrate we had the shows encoded in. In other words, the bitrate was too high. In addition, we received reports of audio that sounded speeded up on older computers.

As a result, we have re-encoded all shows in the SHOW ARCHIVE to a bitrate the dialup feed can effectively handle, and we downgraded our main dialup feed to better handle the thoroughput of dialup modems.

If you know if any listeners who use dialup, please let them know that we have repaired the dialup feed and they should be able to tune us in.

For those of you who use CABLE/DSL, please be aware that the SHOW ARCHIVE section is provided to both CABLE/DSL users and DIAL-UP users as a means to be able to hear our programs at any time you wish. It is NOT intended as a substitute to listening to our programs during their regularly scheduled days/times.
