What We Need

We’re looking for that rare someone with strong skills in both design and development. While your primary responsibilities would be UI design, you would frequently be involved in the larger development process as well. We need someone with a strong understanding of current web technologies and the ability to translate design into XHTML and CSS. You must be up to speed on current design programs and understand design for all mobile devices. Oh yeah, you’ve got to be an Apple user and fan – Big Time.

Here’s a bullet list of requirements:

• An eye for pixel-perfect design
• A strong understanding of user experience / interaction design.
• Strong Familiarity with Photoshop/Illustrator CS6.
• A basic understanding of HTML5, CSS3, & JavaScript (huge bonus)

The Role:
General Things needs a Dev Ops Engineer to join our team, and we’ll keep it simple (because really, it is). You’ll help us manage our production environments, maintain and scale our database systems, and generally keep our system up, running, and secure.

Some of the challenges you’ll help us handle in this role include:
- Experimenting with new technologies;
- Scaling our cloud services to millions of simultaneous users with both high performance and high reliability;
- Automating various systems;
- Increasing overall reliability;
- Developing faster and better deployment systems;
- Performance testing and optimization;
- Planning, implementing, and ensuring adherence to standards.

Our Ideal Candidate Has:
* A sense of humor;
* Experience as a Linux/Unix Sys Admin, and/or DevOps Engineer;
* A penchant for lying awake at night thinking about security and uptime;
* Substantial familiarity with managing production environments on AWS;
