Keira Knightley Dances In First Look At Joe Wright's Anna Karenina

In 2007 director Joe Wright made a huge splash when he directed Atonement, a period drama starring Keira Knightley, Saoirse Ronan and James McAvoy. The film was a huge hit, both with audiences and critics, and it ended up earning seven Academy Award nominations (and it won for Best Original Score). Wright's last two films, The Soloist and Hanna, were both a step away from what we have typically seen from the director - before Atonement he directed an adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, but this year he's returning to the period drama game with Anna Karenina and Focus Features has just released the first four stills from the movie.

Based on the classic novel by Leo Tolstoy, Anna Karenina stars Knightly as the titular character, who is stuck in a loveless marriage. When she begins an affair with the affluent Count Vronsky (Aaron Johnson), however, her life becomes increasingly complicated. The adaptation has an all-star cast that includes Michelle Dockery, Emily Watson, Jude Law, Matthew Macfadyen, and Olivia Williams. The film does not currently have a release date in the United States.

FLINT, Michigan--Keira Knightley, Michael Fassbender and Viggo Mortensen co-star in the drama, "A Dangerous Method," in which "the famed Carl Jung and Sigmund Freud gave birth to psychoanalysis with the aid of a beautiful colleague," said Edwin Bradley, associate film curator at the Flint Institute of Arts. The film will be showing at the FIA March 2-4.

According to an Associated Press reviewer:
Knightley plays Sabina Spielrein, a wealthy Russian who is as beautiful as she is tormented, and who ultimately comes between Jung (Fassenbender) and Freud (Mortensen). Sabina goes to Jung as his patient, shaking up his dull, structured life and also providing him a bountiful source of research for the new "talking cure" he's crafting.

The buttoned-down Jung is fascinated from a scholarly standpoint but also secretly aroused as a man; Fassbender, with his proper dress and carriage, quietly conveys Jung's inner conflict, his percolating desire. But Jung turns to his mentor, Freud, for advice. Freud, of course, thinks every symptom is a manifestation of a subconscious sexual impulse, so Sabina's case gives these two much to chew on.

The reviewer went on to say that as the film's plot unfolds, the characters highlight desires and impulses that are not unique only to those who need psychological treatment: As Sabina's behavior settles down -- as she morphs from patient and lover to student and therapist in her own right -- the relationship between Jung and Freud grows more bitter and volatile. The passive-aggressive series of letters they exchange provides some much-needed humor in this frequently serious, intellectual exercise. But they're onto something, though: As anyone who has ever been in therapy can attest, the danger is inside all of us, whether we're willing to face it or not.

Keira Knightley has stepped up her romance with her musician boyfriend James Righton by moving him into her London home, according to a U.K. report. The actress, 26, has been dating the Klaxons rocker since early last year, following her split from her partner of five years, “Pride & Prejudice” co-star Rupert Friend.

Righton has now moved into Knightley’s house in east London and they are considering getting a puppy together, reports to Britain’s Mail on Sunday. A source tells the publication, “Keira suggested the idea and he moved his stuff in a couple of weeks ago. They want to get a puppy. It’s all pretty serious.”

Actress Keira Knightley is on the promotion circuit for her latest flick, A Dangerous Method, and appeared on the The Jonathan Ross Show looking fresh-faced and flirty in a cute little black dress. The actress showed off her thin frame but admitted that she is not always comfortable with her body, however enviable it is.

Pictures from the Daily Mail show that the English actress wore a demure black dress with silver embellishments that clinched at the waist and flowed out into a 1950s style skirt, cutting off just below the knee. Knightley wore her hair casually pulled up into a bun at the back of her head, which left her shoulders and dazzling jaw line free to be admired.

The Pirates of the Caribbean actress kept her look on the sultry side, with smoky eye makeup in black and bronze tones. She left her lips nude and only a hint of creamy blush to highlight her incredible bone structure. She finished off the ensemble with chic black nail polish that added just a pinch of punch to her look.

Despite having one of the most enviably lithe figures in Hollywood, Keira Knightley admitted to feeling insecure about her body, and asking for a body double for her 2005 movie Domino. The episode of The Jonathan Ross Show, which aired Saturday, February 11, sees the actress admit that she is not at ease with her bottom. The candid actress told the host, "there was this scene in Domino where I was meant to do a bit of a strip tease and a dance with a thong on. A sexy thong dance, and I was just like, 'It's not going to happen.' And so I said, 'Could you get me a bottom please?'"

The actress then joked that for A Dangerous Method, she had to relax herself with vodka before shooting some of the more risqué scenes. A vodka shot was quickly produced for the star on set, who was surprised to find out, "It's really vodka, I thought it was going to be water."

Even though Keira Knightley has a slim figure, she says she is not pleased with the shape of her body. She said that she doesn’t like her figure so much that she used a body double in the movie Domino in 2005. When she was on The Jonathon Ross Show, she said, “I have this policy in films where I say, ‘You can have the top half but you can’t have the bottom half’, and it kind of works quite well. And there was this scene in Domino where I was meant to do a bit of a strip tease and a dance with a thong on. I was just like, ‘It’s not going to happen.’ And so I said, ‘Could you get me a bottom please?’”

When she was trying to find a bottom double she stated, “And so I went into a room with Tony Scott, the director, and these three women came in and just dropped their trousers and he was like, ‘Well, which one do you want?’ And how do you say to the bottom double, do you say, ‘Well I don’t want that one, that one’s crap.’ You don’t get a feel. They then go out and you discuss the bottom. It’s tricky, you go, ‘do I introduce myself or not’, and it’s a bit weird if you don’t. The girl we picked had a lovely bottom.”

In a new interview with that nice man (who we’d quite like to be our dad) Jonathan Ross, Keira Knightley described how much she enjoyed selecting a bottom double for herself in Hollywood. It’s difficult to believe that someone with a figure like Keira’s wouldn’t want to get their flesh out at every opportunity, but the actress says she hates her bum and refuses to get it out in films.

She told Jonathan on the ITV1 show: “I did a film called Domino and, I have this policy in films where I say, ‘You can have the top half but you can’t have the bottom half,’ and it kind of works quite well. “There was this scene in Domino where I was meant to do a bit of a strip tease and a dance with a thong on. If someone asked us this question we wouldn’t know where to even start with an answer, but apparently it’s quite common in Hollywood. Keira continued: “And they said, ‘Absolutely’. Is this what everyone gets to do in Hollywood, go around choosing all the best bits from various women for their sexy scenes? No wonder we’re all riddled with insecurity. And, naturally, Keira also talked about how good she is at playing her teeth.

She told Jonathan: “I can do Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head. That’s the big one that people normally recognise in my repertoire.”She played the tune on her teeth and then added: “There was this kid at primary school and he went on Jim’ll Fix It and he played his teeth on TV and he became like the biggest rock star in our school.

“So there’s a load of us from Stanley Junior School that can play our teeth.”To be fair, that is something we can actually relate to. Everyone in Somerset where we live can play their forehead. You just have to open your mouth and knock your head while changing the shape of your lips. Is that weird? Probably. Sorry.

In the film, the stars play two neighbours who are thrown together after finding out that the world will end in exactly three weeks' time. Carrell, as Dodge, is looking for his first love, whilst Knightley, as Penny, is desperate to see her family one last time before the human race ends.

The film is directed by Lorene Scafaria, the screenwriter of 'Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist', and debuts in UK cinemas on June 22. It's a far cry from Knightley's current film, 'A Dangerous Method', which saw her having to down shots during filming to get through graphic scenes of a sexual nature.

Actress Keira Knightley knows this too, suffering a fake tan fail while wearing a backless dress to the premiere of A Dangerous Method in London. As Keira twirled on the red carpet, she revealed the tell-tale sign of a self-applied tan: dodgy patches of golden colour smeared haphazardly in the middle of her back.

It's surprising that Knightly, an actress earning millions of dollars a year, would opt to do her own tan for the event and not fork out for a professional spray. Baffling, actually. And in a backless dress, too. Quelle horreur! We're surprised by Keira's apparent laziness when it comes to grooming, but it is comforting to know even celebs have beauty disasters.

It's the second time this week a celebrity has sported a dodgy fake tan: Christina Aguilera suffered a serious case of the streaks when she began to sweat under the hot lights as she sang at the funeral of legendary songstress Etta James. Aguilera was forced to reach down and wipe away the brown streaks that ran down her legs as she took the microphone to perform.
