Kendra Wilkinson sustains minor injuries in Tarzana collision

Officials say a celebrity sustained minor injuries after a two-vehicle collision in Tarzana Sunday. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, 27-year-old Kendra Wilkinson, a former Playmate and reality TV star, was traveling in her Audi when she collided with another vehicle driven by an unidentified motorist.

Ms. Wilkinson was treated and released from Providence Tarzana Medical Center. It is not clear what injuries the other driver sustained in the wreck. Officials are conducting an ongoing investigation to determine the cause of this incident. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports 18.6 percent of all crashes in 2009 happened off the roadway or on the median or shoulder. Still making a Splash! Kendra Wilkinson dives into a game of softball after quitting reality show

There are some people whose natural habitat is on dry land. Having dropped out of Splash Kendra Wilkinson showed she's still got a sporty side - albeit on dry land - as she pounded softballs on Saturday and helped ground the opposing team into the dirt. The 27-year-old reality star quit the ABC reality series on April 2 because she couldn't bring herself to make a dive off a 23-foot platform.

Kendra, 27 realized she looked like a scardey-cat when she refused to make the dive. ‘One thing I don’t quit,' she said afterwards. 'This is the first time in my life I’ve quit something. This will haunt me for the rest of my life.' But the mother of one obviously shook herself off and went into the garage for her old softball glove. Wilkinson is a star softball player and was a key member of her high school team. She now plays ball with a team in Calabasas, where she lives with her retired NFL playing husband Hank Baskett and their son.

Kendra was in top form while playing Saturday. She played all positions, including outfield and pitcher. She had several at bats, and managed to smash one way into the outfield. Kendra on Top returns to WE for the second season this fall.

Kendra Wilkinson on 'Splash': 'I felt like I was risking my life'

Kendra Wilkinson has admitted that she felt like she was putting her life in danger on Splash. The former Girls Next Door star decided to quit the ABC competition in last week's episode instead of performing her dive, because of a fear of heights.

"I feel like the world is off my shoulders now," Wilkinson told People. "Every morning I would wake up and be shaking. "It's a really risky show. I related jumping off the high board into the water to jumping to my death. That's how big of a deal it was. To me, it really meant risking my life."Wilkinson, who admitted that she didn't realise diving was an "aerial sport" until she signed up, suggested that viewers have been largely sympathetic.

"People link quitting to failure," she said. "But on the other hand, I think people understood. After I quit, I expected the world to fall down on me and it actually ended up being the opposite. It's one of those situations either you understand or you don't. If you don't, you hate me. And if you do, you love me."

Wilkinson continued: "The reality of the situation is I was truly afraid and could not fulfil my role on the show and had to let it go. There were other contestants who truly wanted to win. I just wanted to get over my fear of heights. I wasn't on there to be competitive."

The reality star also praised the cast of Splash and hinted that not all of them are completely happy with their time on the show, saying: "I'm not going to say names, but after I quit, I had a contestant call me and say they wanted to do the same thing I did but they didn't think they could do it. "I praise the whole cast of Splash with all I have."Wilkinson has previously described signing up for Splash, which airs Tuesdays on ABC, as a "mistake".

ABC’s Splash is a diving competition. As in, you get on a springboard high up in the air and dive off it. Going in, Kendra Wilkinson understood this concept and agreed to appear on the show despite her fear of heights. Well, in the few weeks she’s been diving, she’s surprisingly still scared of heights and now she’s quit the show.

She refused to dive off a 23-foot-high board in the last episode and eliminated herself from the competition. ”It’s bittersweet. One thing I don’t do is quit. This is the first time in my life I’ve quit something. This will haunt me for the rest of my life.” That is to say, it will haunt her up until next week when she forgets all about it.

Kendra says she was planning on quitting for at least a week. “I was supposed to quit with last weeks dive but I didn’t and did it. Felt amazing and it was a huge accomplishment to me and my family.”She overcame her fear one time and then she quit. I’m sure Kendra’s family is really impressed. They’re probably all clapping for her. A slow, sarcastic clap.

Oscar winner dies: Ruth Prawer Jhabvala, an Oscar-winning screenwriter and award-winning novelist with a long association with Merchant Ivory Productions, has died. She was 85. Jhabvala won two Academy Awards for her adaptations of the E.M. Forster novels "Howards End" and "A Room With a View." She was also nominated for adapting 1993's "The Remains of the Day." All three films were also best-picture contenders. Firoza Jhabvala told the Associated Press Wednesday that her mother died in New York after a long illness.

WWE lawsuit settled: Martha Hart, widow of World Wrestling Entertainment performer Owen Hart, told the Associated Press Wednesday that she has settled her lawsuit against the WWE over unpaid royalties and the unauthorized use of her late husband's image. Tom Hanks tears up: Actor Tom Hanks made his Broadway debut this week in “Lucky Guy,” a play written by his close friend, the late author and Hollywood screenwriter Nora Ephron. The opening was a success, but tinged with sadness over the loss of Ephron, who died last year at the age of 71 of complications of leukemia. Hanks couldn't contain his emotions during the opening-night curtain call, tearing up as the audience gave him a standing ovation. He later told the New York Post: “That was a tough moment. We were going to do this, and Nora and [show director] George C. Wolfe were going to walk out onstage. I miss her. What more can you say? Nora was just a magnificent hang . . . Well, look at it now! The format is moving on to bigger and better things – namely, the American air in the face of ABC. The show lines up the typical suspects of a reality program – some semi-celebs, actors, atheletes, a beauty queen and... Louis Anderson?

Well, yes, the 59-year-old comedian will be part of the show and everyone expects him to serve up some laughs with his performance on the diving board. Anderson himself isn’t offended by that, though, in fact, he’d enjoy it, apparently: "I didn't look at this as a show that's going to make fun of me even though some people probably do when they hear about it," Anderson said on a recent morning while practicing at the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center in Pasadena. "But they'll be surprised that it won't be what they think it's going to be.... Is it more impressive to see someone who's fit dive off a 5-meter or someone who's fat?"

Fair point, but Splash is a show, designed to poke fun at the athletic ineptitude of famous people after all. In a good way, of course. Mostly. So, will you be tuning in and why? To see impressive amateur diving? Or to laugh with (and at) the contestants? Splash kicks off at 8PM tonight and it might well be worth a watch.

Kendra Wilkinson’s relationship with her Splash coach Greg Louganis has taken a nose dive, and RadarOnline.com has the video. The Playboy Playmate unleashes a tirade of mega proportions in a clip from ABC’s new reality show after Louganis challenges Kendra, 27, to jump from a three-meter board.

“I know Greg is the best diver of all time,” Wilkinson says in the season premiere. “Everybody would probably be pissed at me if I talked s**t about him, but guess what? I’m talking s**t about him. I don’t like him.”Louganis had previously called out the buxom blonde, insisting she was putting on “an act” about her fear of heights.

“What the f–– do you think you’re telling me right now? That I don’t have a f–– fear of heights?” Wilkinson screams. “I’m sick of you picking on me, Greg … I’m working on me, not you. Tell America right now that my fear of heights is an act.”
