After listening to Sasha’s latest BBC Radio show, I was still left yearning for How To Dress Well’s vocals and it brought me back to one of my favorite tracks of this year.

Don’t Say No has been appropriately described as “baby making music”. The classy rim taps in a groovy 6/8 rock beat with the strangely warm over exposed instrumentals just feels so comfy and cosy. The build up is undeniably moving but still remains cool. And let’s not forget the weightless but powerful vocals. I’m just astonished I can get the same rush of feelings from this low-key track as I do when I’m jamming to festival banger tracks. Shlohmo really made a under rated masterpiece with How To Dress Well.

Back in February, Shlohmo even got RL Grime to endorse his then new track. RL Grime tweeted shortly after Shlohmo posted this smooth and sultry track and claimed it to be one of his favorite tracks. I have to agree with Grime… it’s easily one of my favorite tunes.

Not only does this track jam, but the rest of Shlomo’s EP does not disappoint. Check out his EP Laid Out!

It’s pretty rare that I come across a new track from Hollidayrain, and even rarer still when I get to post trance here on The Kollection. But here we are, with the brand new release Let me Go featuring Russell Elliott. As far as trance goes, this track is pretty standard: driving beats and big euphoric synths are the song’s bread and butter. Russell Elliott handles the vocals well, giving the track a light, somewhat melancholy twinge. Slip away into seven minutes of trance goodness and grab this track for free.

This is an emotional vocal trance track I wrote with the super talented singer/songwriter Russell Elliott. You can find him on youtube (www.youtube.com/russellelliottmusic), so go show him some love!

It’s no question that today there is an unprecedented proliferation of experimental electronic music – new artists continue to flood into the music community each and every day. If there’s anything we can be certain about in the midst of all this, it’s that now more than ever, the artists who produce high quality, original music will shine out among the rest.

HOWLINGS is one of those artists. I’ve been listening to him for almost a year now, and he consistently turns out some of the freshest music on the scene today. And his new EP, Hold Me Close, is nothing short of a testament to that. HOWLINGS’ music integrates a wide range of sounds – from chilling synths to crisp drum loops, dope bass lines to smooth reverbs – each song emanates a kicked back, relaxed atmosphere. This EP is comprised of four sleek new tracks by HOWLINGS and four top-notch remixes. You’ll definitely want to Kollect this EP for free, thanks to HOWLINGS’ generosity. Also, show him your gratitude and support by dropping into his Soundcloud and checking out more of his music.

That’s it for now. Keep it real ladies and gents, and keep on Kollecting.

While a 2 track EP may seem like a small project, Stars Above demonstrates how even a small project can have a big impact. With Higher than the Sky relying on its assortment of musical elements to draw us in with each passing moment, Stars Above emphasizes an elegance that differentiates itself from the typical sounds that make up most dance music. “Daybreak”, for instance, greets us with percussive notes that lead into a gorgeous piano line. Instead of ramping up the percussion aspect as would seem normal, Stars Above builds the track out from the piano and layers it with a healthy dose of synths. So if you’re looking for an EP that is atypical of a heavily saturated, and generic, EDM scene, then take a chance on Stars Above’s Higher than the Sky.

Electro-Pop. That’s the best way to characterize this interesting remix by London-based producer Rudi Zygadlo. He manages to transform the original- an infectious, poppy track- and convert it to something brand new, while keeping the breezy hooks of the original. The young musician has been making his mark in the electronic music world, creating fresh takes on other dance tracks as well as various originals. No genre may define him exactly-he’s experimenting with dubstep as well- but as long as he keeps producing work this fresh I’m a fan. Check out his Soundcloud page to hear more.

Together is a new group on my watchlist – and a rather large group at that. This artist is actually a collection of more than 100 Swedish producers who have joined together to support charities after being inspired by Avicii’s “House for Hunger” project in 2012. Their big track, for sale on Bandcamp, is a melodic progressive song, filled with light vocals, crisp synths and a driving drumkit. All proceeds from this release are going to the Hungerhjälpen charity foundation.

We’re a group consisting of 150+ Swedish producers and we have all come together to make this one song for charity. All the money collected from people buying the track will go to the charity foundation Hungerhjälpen
