Constructed in 1910 after the original 1850s building was destroyed by fire, The Elgin Buildings original location was 118 Yonge St at the NW corner of Yonge and Adelaide Sts. In 2013, the facades were dismantled, moved one block north and reassembled on the SW corner of Yonge and Temperance Sts.
