Re-launching The Leopard Anchor

You might have noticed that this place has been sitting, stale and unloved for quite a while. Truth be told I just wasn't feeling it, I missed blogging but I felt like I'd lost my place and needed to find it again. Well, I think I have. I'm relaunching in a new space on Wordpress (you can find it at http://leopardanchor.com/) and I feel great about it.

I wrote a post in the new space about my re-launch (here), some things will be changing and some things will be staying the same. I want to talk more about life, I want to get more in-depth and sometimes gritty, I want to talk about feelings and extraordinary women, about improving ourselves and forgiving each other. However, I'll be keeping the pretty photos and the frivolous things, craft will still be sneaking in, of course. And there's no doubt that I'll be jabbering on about photography too.

I hope you'll join me on the new part of this journey.

Uh-oh, the stray cat had stray kittens

At the farm we have a stray cat that hangs around on the porch, he's lovely and he gets treated very well.

It seems he's been having a little fun as at least 5 kittens turned up a couple of weeks ago, only one of them is brave enough to hang with humans though.

Wow. It's been nearly a month since I did a WWW post, moving across the Atlantic and then losing the internet connection at the farm for a couple of weeks will do that to a gal.

The one blog post to incite enormous jealousy is Retro Chick's adventure on the Orient Express this week, it is one of my dreams to go on that thing.

The vegan ice cream floats on Vegan Housewives look incredible, I must try them soon.

This next one is actually from a month ago, but I'm still thinking about it. Tilly & the Buttons (one of my first and favourite sewing blogs) interviewed Sarah from The Craftivist Collective in May. I had never heard of Craftivism before that, but now I've been mulling the idea over constantly since reading the interview, to the point where I'm considering setting up an Ontario contingent.

This recipe isn't new, but it is the best cookie recipe in the world, bar none.

I realised that I haven't done a write up about the School of Rock I attended in April, I guess I got busy. So here's a link some write-ups from Kat herself and the other attendees. Needless to say it was awesome, educational and very rock n' roll.

That Sunday feeling (on a Friday)

I'm hopefully going to be working this Sunday (weather dependent), and Saturday is traditionally the day of a million errands, so I'm calling today my Sunday (as if I haven't had 3 weeks of Sundays).

It's finally raining here, it's been so hot and dry that the ground really needs it desperately. It just so happens that my favourite kind of day is one with the rain lashing the windows, where I can curl up with my dog and my kindle and eat PB on toast.

So, on my Sunday I'm hanging out in my new $5 PJ bottoms, reading (Insurgent by Veronica Roth), starting on my Smash journal, drinking chai made with almond milk, writing proper snail mail letters and probably napping. Heaven.

Let me tell you, this peanut butter is probably the best thing I have EVER tasted, I randomly came across it in Walmart the other day and it is incredible.
