Our unique service aided by our unique Online Booking Management system means the Inventory process takes care of itself. With referencing, gas safety certificates, preparation of Tenancy agreements etc. all to be dealt with prior to the start of a Tenancy, our clients know that, our Inventory Clerks will be fully prepared and produce a Report of the highest quality.

[TLD - Question]. Wow so you’ve bee around since 1999, I bet you’ve seen all kinds of stuff in your time, so Paul, what area does your company cover?

[Paul Wells]. ‘Yes, as an Inventory clerk you get to see some great properties and meet all types of different people, some good some bad…each day is different, but always interesting. Our service is focused on London and the surrounding areas. We provide a short-notice, professional service aided by our unique Online Booking Management system; free to use for all our Clients. Our Inventories are fair and conducted from an independent viewpoint’

[TLD - Question]. Why do I need an Inventory?

[Paul Wells]. ‘If your a Landlord, an Inventory is a very important document to safeguard your investment. It is now generally accepted that the compilation of a detailed Inventory and Schedule of Conditions is a necessity and no longer simply an option for Landlords and tenants.

The reports we compile at the outset and termination of tenancies are detailed, concise, well presented, and tailored to leave no element of doubt. This means that at the end of a Tenancy, any dispute between a Landlord and a Tenant can be resolved quickly using the evidence from the comprehensive written and photographic record compiled in our Inventory reports. This allows property managers to broker agreements between parties without the need to revert to the Dispute Service’

The advent of the Tenancy Deposit Scheme has been good for Tenants and Landlords, but in the event of a case going to the dispute service, can result in hours of administrative work for Property Managers and Agents; a professional Inventory and Schedule of Conditions has never been more important.

A survey by Hometrack, the property data company, said house prices fell for the fourth month in a row during October as buyers continued to stay away from the market.

The company, which asks estate agents and surveyors to give achievable selling prices for different types of homes in every post code in England and Wales, said falls were recorded in 56pc of postcode districts, while just 0.1pc of areas saw a rise.

 The number of new buyers registering with estate agents dropped by 2pc during October, the fourth month in a row in which demand has declined, but the number of people putting their homes up for sale continued to increase, rising by 1.9pc.

I went to the Canary Wharf Ice Rink last year with some work friends and it was great fun, i would recommend it to anyone. I’m planning on going again this year, but a word of warning, I’m absolutely hopeless when it comes to skating so if you see me keep your distance or prepare for a nasty crash..that’s me in the photo from last year.

The Canary Wharf Ice Rink opens 7 days a week from Saturday 14 November 2009 until Sunday 21 February 2010. Opening hours are Monday to Saturday 9.45am-11pm and Sunday 9.45am-7.30pm. The last skate session begins 1 hour prior to closing time.

The Limehouse Basin, built by the Regent’s Canal Company, was formerly known as Regent’s Canal Dock and was used by seagoing vessels and lighters to offload cargoes to canal barges, for onward transport along the Regent’s Canal. Although initially a commercial failure following its opening in 1820, by the mid 19th century the dock (and the canal) were an enormous commercial success for the importance in the supply of coal to the numerous gasworks and latterly electricity generating stations along the canal, and for domestic and commercial use. At one point it was the principal entrance from the Thames to the entire national canal network.

Today Limehouse Basin is one of the great successes of the redevelopment of Docklands, it is home to the beautiful Limehouse Marina with luxury residential developments along the basin. The redevelopment of the Basin started in 1983 as part of the London Docklands Development Corporation’s overall masterplan for the Docklands area. However, it took many years for the scheme to come to fruition.

The property boom and bust of the 1980s set back progress considerably, as did the construction of the Limehouse Link tunnel which was built under the north side of the basin in the early 1990s. By early 2004 the majority of the once derelict land surrounding the basin had been developed into luxury flats.

The Limehouse Marina area is a beautiful place to live, it offers spectacular views of the Marina and is ideally situated for Canary Wharf and the City of London. There are residential developments dotted all around the Marina, everything from town houses to stunning penthouse apartment, all within walking distance of the Docklands Light Railway and mainline rail services.

The marina is just off Narrow Street, home to a number of good pubs and restaurants, including The Narrow, a gastropub run by Gordon Ramsay.

15 Westferry Road | The Pride| A world-class landmark building

Glenkerrin, the Irish property developer who paid £32million for the site the former dock worker’s pub this spring, has re-submitted its planning application for 15 Westferry Road, called The Pride.

This week the developer posted its Autumn 2008 Newsletter to all the local residents informing them of their application and plans for the site. The newsletter describes the developers plans as ‘a landmark building’ and states that there will be a total of 430 new apartments, comprising of affordable housing as well as a five star hotel with accompanying facilities.

The newsletter also talks about the developers neighboring site further along the Isle of Dogs, 443-451 Westferry Road called Island Point. The developer wants its application for The Pride and Island Point to be treated as one.

Government regulations require any developer to provide 40 per cent social housing on a scheme. But the Irish developer is looking to transfer the majority of its affordable units to Island Point, Glenkerrin has argued that the decision to load the social housing onto Island Point was made as the tower at The Pride would not be suitable for families.

In July 2008 The Wharf newspaper reported that this proposal was badly received by local residents as well the Blackwall and Cubitt Town councillor Phil Briscoe, who The Wharf quotes as saying “It seems like an unusual amount to push off-site. It’s a very dangerous precedent. Everyone wants a mixed and sustainable community, and this doesn’t seem to offer that.”
