#40 – House on Haunted Hill (1959)

After a two week break, we’re back and find ourselves without a ton to say about this one. House on Haunted Hill, starring Vincent Price, is a winner for us both, and a strong recommend before we even get started. Give it a listen, and check this one out.

A departure from the list as Brendan & Melissa forgo #42 “Ringu” in favour of a film that is bizarrely absent from the list of the Top Rated Horror Movies of all time (according to Rotten Tomatoes). This week, it’s 1982’s classic The Thing. A definite win for both hosts, if you haven’t seen it we both recommend watching it in advance.

This week we recommend: Mindhunters (2004) and Ravenous (1999)

#42: Nosferatu The Vampyre (1979)

This week, we look at the 1979 remake of Nosferatu. The second telling of the Dracula story we’ve covered so far, with the first being 1931’s Dracula. While it may have had its moments, this one doesn’t rank as one of our favourites, but you should check out the episode to find out why!

This week we recommend: Sherlock The Abominable Bride (2016), Sherlock Holmes (2009), and Spotlight (2015)

#43: Halloween (1978)

#44: Carrie (1976)

This week we take a look at #44 on the list, the 1976, Brian De Palma classic Carrie.

Without a doubt, the strongest one we’ve watched so far. Starring Sissy Spacek, Piper Laurie and John Travolta. If you haven’t had the pleasure of watching this one yet, you should.

#45: Re-Animator (1984)

An episode that defines the title of this show, this week Brendan and Melissa have a look at the 1985 Stuart Gordon film, Re-Animator. Definitely ranks high on the gross and uncomfortable scale, but both Melissa and Brendan felt very differently in the end.

#46: A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)

A new year, a new episode! This week Melissa and Brendan take a trip to the 1980s and check out the Wes Craven classic, “A Nightmare On Elm Street”.

Thrills, chills and genuine gross-out moments had by all, if you haven’t seen this movie… you should.

#47: I Walked With a Zombie (1943)

This week, it’s #47 on our list of “The Best Horror Movies of All Time” (According to Rotten Tomatoes). This one is the shortest we’ve watched so far, at only just over an hour, and yet was the most draining to watch.
