"Believe" I made it!

Good Tuesday morning to you!! The sun is shining and I am getting ready to go on my walk with hubby! Life is good!

I know you are probably well aware of the talents of Kelly Lunceford.....I have been following her blog ever since I discovered all of her fabulous banners that she makes - absolutely GORJUS!!

I was wowed by this Thanksgiving banner of Kelly's and this Hallowe'en banner - and I really wanted to give it a go, so when we were having our craft fair I decided to try to make one.

I didn't want to stray too far from Kelly's design because, well frankly, they are perfect! I just wanted our banner to be a bit bigger so I made the accordion flowers 4" across (I had to use two - 2" x 12" strips of designer paper for each flower-- I love love LOVE the accordian flowers (Kelly's tutorial here)

I had already cut the letters "Believe" out with a Cricut at one of my local scrapbooking stores, making the background letter 5 1/4" high and the designer paper 5" high, which was pretty big to work with which is why my accordion flowers are so big!.

This is not a dainty banner lol!

Since I used designer paper and not chipboard for my main letters, they were not very sturdy and I felt that putting glitter on each one just on it's own would be hazardous to the letter

I adhered each letter to Quickutz double sided clear adhesive sheets. I cut each letter out, peeled off the other side of the adhesive sheet and added the glitter - very easy but still messy and fun and gave each letter a little more thickness.

Each background is made out of cardstock and is cut like a pennant. I stamped each pennant with several Christmas words from different stamp sets in versamark and clear embossed.

I really was at a loss as to how to finish the top of each pennant and I love how Kelly has her Thanksgiving words computer generated across the top of each piece, and since I was now lacking any further mojo, I did the same thing using Christmas words (why mess with perfection??!).

I finished the whole thing by edging each pennant with white ink.

I am really happy with how it turned out - very colourful and happy looking - just the look we were going for!

Happy happy Monday!! and that means that it is Little Paper Shop challenge day!

We haven't been leaving Santa too much the last few years because I heard that Santa was on a losing weight kick, so we were trying to help him along.....however....it probably isn't working *sigh* so .....

I used {Christmas Tags} for today's colour challenge which is still on sale until December 7th!- it is so cute with lots of fun tags and images for you to use!

It's been a crazy weekend - we had a table at our Church bazaar and boy was I whuuuuupped at the end of the day!

I have decided I would rather make the cards then sell them - I'm not a good salesperson - I kind of say things under my breath and sometimes I even ~~want to launch myself across the table and~~ had to turn away. I was kind of surprised at that.

I am on my way to the chiropractor this morning for this silly back of mine (may have been the table thing...).....anyone have any lower back advice? Dang thing anyway......

Dirty Girls challenge and a tutorial.....

Okay be nice. This is my first tutorial on my blog.

I've done a couple for the Splitcoaststampers Dirty Dozen gallery but Jenn Balcer, who is always behind the scenes, choreographed the whole thing making it just lovely!!

Granted it's not a huge tutorial but....okay now I'm babbling....

First off, the 20th of the month is the day the Dirty Girls get together and accept a challenge from the hostess for the month.

I am so proud to say that I was a Dirty Girl, so since I had time - don't know where that statement came from - I accepted Kim T easdale's challenge to make an ornament along with a loop so it can hang from something.

Essentially, I did the challenge correctly, there is an ornament involved and a loop, but technically I cheated a little.

I just received the Sizzix BIGZ ornament die and I just freakin' LOVE it! so that is what I used and made these tags, which you will probably see a lot of in various design in the coming days and weeks.

I also used Waltzingmouse Stamps Off Beat Backgrounds along with and Very Vintage Labels No. 4. I LOVE that little tag topper and I must confess, that I didn't have a clue what those (there are three different shapes in this set) little stamps were for until I finally decided to do some research on Claire's blog (plug your ears Claire) to see if she had used them or not, and of course she had, beautifully.... D'oh me......

Okay, on to the tutorial.......I have seen a lot of the Cricut tags shaped so beautifully and since I don't have a Cricut (I sold it about a year ago.... why oh why *sob*...) I decided to make my own lovely shaped tags from Spellbinders dies.

This tutorial will make 6 tags from one 8-1/2 x 11 sheet of cardstock

Scalloped Tag Tutorial

Supplies Needed:

-Spellbinders Long classic Rectangles (second largest die)

-Spellbinders Labels Four (largest die)

-One sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 piece of cardstock

-Die cutting machine ( I used Cuttlebug)

-Paper trimmer

Step One:

Cut cardstock in half so you have two panels measuring 8 1/2" x 5 1/2".

Step Two

Cut each panel into 3 equal rectangles each one measuring 2 3/4" x 5 1/2"

Step Three

Die cut each panel with the long rectangle nestabilities.

Step Four

Center only the top of your panel under the top of the Labels 4 die, as shown in photo, making sure the bottom of the panel is not being cut.

Step Five

Run it through the die cutting machine - repeat with rest of panels

Step Six

Decorate as desired

Sorry I am not blogging lately - we have a craft show this weekend and next weekend that we are ridiculously cramming for - sounds like exams!

Here is a project that I made for the August Dirty Dozen gallery and I love it!

The theme was called Back to the Drawing board and we were to use things that you would get from a office supply store!

I used a 6" x 9" clear clipboard that I bought at Staples and attached some Zva Creative Crystal Symmetrical Flourishes and and Zva Creative roses to the front of the clipboard.

I stamped Papertrey Ink Damask Designs with cream coloured paint onto the back of the clipboard.

When it was dry, I added some thickers that I had painted with a lime green dauber and that was basically it! - very easy but such a great background for my little granddaughter Robin!

Little Paper Shop and a SALE!!

Well, first off, I am sorry for the late post today. I absolutely hate technology - let's just leave it at that or I may say something I shouldn't. bah.

On to better things!! Today is the next sneak peak for Little Paper Shop.

This stamp set is called {For You} and is a sentiment set and will be available tomorrow along with a HUGE sale - everything will be 10% to 70% off for one week starting tomorrow!! Isn't that Fabulous!!??

I paired up the new sentiment with an image from {I Heart} (yesterday's sneak peek) because I thought this was the perfect sentiment to use.

My paper is Basic Grey Nutmeg and I also used Papertrey Ink Aquamist cardstock, ribbon and button.

Our challenge today was to use a die cut on our card and as you can see, I finished the card and then didn't have ONE die cut on it - ridiculous because I always use some sort of Spellbinders or paper punch - I'm a dork - that's my excuse.....

Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #33

Well good morning again, and I just want to take a minute and thank Jami Bova {sgtStamper} for my new blog banner! It was time for a change and I went back to the chicken - I missed him/her/it dearly and I love it! Thanks Jami!

Well here we are again at another Cupcake Inspiration Challenge for Hope Stamps Eternal!

This week we have pointy little cupcakes that are so yummy-licious looking - and I get so dang hungry when I am typing up these Cupcake posts....lol!

I was totally inspired by the points on the cupcake so I went with my nestabilities friendly Waltzingmouse Stamp set called "Seasons of Love - Tags." I stamped the star in Stamping Up Really Rust to match the autumn theme and then stamped the sentiment with Memento Rich Cocoa.

I love the autumn theme so of course Cosmo Cricket Nutmeg matched up perfectly! I sewed some panels of "Nutmeg" onto my card base, attached the star tag and finished it off with a bow and a button.

This would be perfect for a masculine card because of the colours but would also be great for anyone else! I just love it!

Little Paper Shop Preview!

Yes, you are at the right place!! I've replaced my banner with this funky little chicken - I missed the chicken and it only made sense. Holy Cow it's that time again- Little Paper Shop is revealing new stamps YAY!! I LOVE new stamps!

Today's reveal is called {I Heart} and is full of images containing hearts!

I've combined three of the images by stamping and masking. I stamped the small birdhouse and then masked it to stamp the heart topiary over top so that it looked like the birdhouse was in the plant!

I like how it turned out, although I don't like the peach shadowing.....I don't know what I was thinking...

When I saw today's Inspiration Challenge, which features the gorgeous artwork of Lorelie Kay Designs, I was fixated on this fine piece and knew I had to ink up my sweet little Lillith from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!

Isn't she just the cutest little diva ever?!!

She was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink which dries so fast and does NOT bleed when you use copic markers! - wahoo!

So then of course, I coloured her with my copic markers - heading out in two minutes to pick up MORE markers.....I'm am sinful!!

My patterned paper is from Imaginisce, Perfectly Posh - and perfectly suited for glamour divas like Miss Lillith!

The sentiment is from My Favorite Things, and I can't find it to link it up, which makes me think it is out of stock - everyone loves it!

Thank you for taking a look today. I don't say it often but I am grateful for everyone who likes to stamp and everyone who just stops around to take a peek!!

A Faux Feel Challenge.....

Good morning! The sun is shining and I have got coffee in hand and a day full of happiness ahead of me!

Splitcoaststampers Thursday challenge is called Ways to Use It and this week our challenge is to use texture on our creation, so I sort of copped out and used paper that looked like it had texture to it!

I used Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses 6 x 6 paper pad, Finial and Woodland sheets and, using a simple but effective layout, created a gorgeous Christmas card if I do say so myself haha!!

I love the acetate snowflakes - aren't they pretty - too bad I don't know where they are from! Dang it - I ripped open the package a few weeks ago and then promptly forgot the manufacturer - anyone?anyone? Beuller?

I used Papertrey Ink's Peaceful Poinsettia for the sentiment, stamped in Scarlet Jewel, and then my EK Success edger for the scallops - love it!

I sewed around the edges and for the finale, I added a Zva Creative clear gem that I coloured with my copic marker!

This card was easy-ness at it's best and wonderful for mass producing!

An Old Friend....

I just love this Sewing Box - Hugs stamp set from Waltzingmouse Stamps! I made this card for the colour challenge on Splitcoaststampers and one lady even commented on how lovely my stitching was - it's very real looking!

The colours were Very Vanilla, Kraft and Bravo Burgundy - of course you can use any colour that is similar so I used Gina K Pure Luxury Soft Sand and Papertrey Ink Scarlet Jewel and Rustic Cream.

I stamped three hearts on the Soft Sand cardstock and then again on Rustic Cream Cardstock.

I cut out the middle hearts from the Rustic Cream and adhered them to the Soft Sand cardstock and then added some Scarlet Jewel buttons tied with Rustic twine.

I love the sentiment and I must say that a couple of years ago an old ....no.....good friend, that I went to Grade School with, some er......40 years ago contacted me through Classmates.com. I was thrilled to say the least!

We met for lunch with a few of the other girls from school and they are all so beautiful and fun and so dang grown up! Now we get together once in awhile to laugh and share funny teacher stories. I think it is about time for another get together - eh Jayne?!!

Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #32

Good Sunday morning and welcome to another Cupcake Inspiration Challenge! This week we have another delicious looking cupcake to be inspired by!

Every week Rachel Hope, from Hope Stamps Eternal, uploads a fabulous cupcake and our design team is totally inspired (because we are like that !) and we whip up a card to totally inspire you!

So here is today's cupcake......

and here is how I was inspired.

I used Basic Grey June Bug designer paper and a stamp from my new Bella Blvd Camp Out stamp set- I love this little motor home. My in-laws sold motor homes for years and this sweet set brings back a ton of memories!

I am using this as a retirement card and on the inside the sentiment is "Happy Retirement" (original, I know)......

My trail of "dust" is one of those fabulous Zva Creative flourishes in Jet. So you see how it hangs off the edge of the card? Just make sure if you do this, that you put a bit of baby powder on the back of the sticky part - so that it won't be sticky! a fabulous tip I learned from the wonderful Kim Hughes right here! and then be sure to use a larger envelope so the gorgeous crystals won't fold over and be all yucky.....as my grandson would say....

Home Sweet Home....

I finally received my Waltzingmouse Stamps in the mail yesterday and of course I inked them up
immediately..... I want to have fun like the rest of the Design Team!

I received the set Sewing Box - Hugs and decided to make a card with a frame of sorts.

I stamped the house onto Rustic cream cardstock with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and coloured it with copics.

I added some Zva Crystal gems to the windows and highlighted them with a gold Copic spica pen, hoping they would look like candles that had been lit and make it all comfy and cozy (how'd I do?.....)

I didn't colour the door because honestly, I didn't really know what colour to make it! That is so true......if I went with blue - it would be too much, if I coloured it green - I don't know..... green didn't seem like it at the time, but now it looks like it would have worked....oh my.....light brown may have done it too.....decisions, decisions......any suggestions? (Hey, I know I should be the one that can figure out what colour a door should be, but today I just can't lol!)

I love the new Basic Grey Nook & Pantry, it is so homey feeling, so I used a sheet of it from a 6 x 6 paper pad for my frame and background.

Using my square nestabilities I was able to cut squares from the middle of my measured piece of Nook & Pantry designer paper and Ocean Tides cardstock.

I glued those pieces together and then added dimensional foam tape to the back of the "frame" and added it to the cardbase that already had been prepared with the sweet little home image.

Using the Spellbinders Fancy Tags I stamped the sentiment and popped the tag up onto the bottom of the card.

I added a bit of Vintage Cream ribbon with a button tied with coloured twine to finish it off!

This set, along with two other gorgeous sets have been released already at Waltzingmouse Stamps. One of the stamp sets is a TOP SECRET and you even need a secret password to enter the secret blog to see the secret set! How secretly FUN is that?!

I'm off to a craft show today ~~to spy~~ to see how people set up their tables and to probably to buy stuff! yay!

Merry Christmas Colour Challenge

Good morning and welcome to another beautiful, but cold, autumn day in Southwestern Ontario. The days are getting shorter and Christmas is coming - eeeekk!!

I've started my Christmas cards as you have probably noticed and I was so thrilled to see today's colour challenge on Splitcoaststampers. Use a neutral card base with a pop of colour - easy peasy!

My sentiment is from the beautiful Waltzingmouse Stamp Set, Say it with Style, which has a gorgeous font and I love to use it - so many sentiments to choose from!

There are sneak peaks for new releases going around right now at Waltzingmouse Stamps- I haven't received my sets yet - *shaking fist at Canada Post* - but there are gorgeous samples on the design teams blogs and on the Waltzingmouse Stamps blog itself - take a peek at the mysterious new stamp set that will require a secret password to view - heehee!!

For my card, I chose to use Papertrey Ink Rustic Cream cardstock for my neutral and then combined Pure Poppy that was punched with my apron lace punch - easy and effective.

My Mind's Eye Merry Days of Christmas designer paper was used for the front of the card - perfect match!

My snowflakes are Little Yellow Bicycle chipboard which I inked up with Papertrey Ink Vintage Cream ink and then Martha Stewart chunky glitter on top - gorgeous and sparkly! Love it!

I added Stamping Bella baubles - which I have been hoarding but NO MORE! I am now in USE mode so everything is going to be getting used up - so if anyone is feeling generous....haha!!

I finished off my card by running the vintage cream ink around the edges to bring it all together!

Have a wonderful sunny day - I think I am going to try to hang clothes out on the line

Little Paper Shop Challenge!

Good Monday morning everyone and welcome to another Little Paper Shop Monday and our challenge.

If you want to play, and of course you should, you may win the Little Paper Shop stamp called Katie Caroler - sweet little thing she is!

Our challenge this week is from our lovely Mel, who is leaving us - boo hoo!! we will miss you Mel!! Mel's challenge is to use at least one stamp and one of our digital stamps into your creation - FUN!!

I chose to use the digital image {Pony} along with the stamp set {Christmas Tags}.

I put together a few little strips of designer paper, sewed them using zig zagging and punched the top with the Martha Stewart stars edge punch (which is on half price right now!)

I coloured the image with copics and then added a few different sizes of Zva Creative Crystals to the corner!

Did I mention that I WON $50 worth of Zva Creative product yesterday! Scrapbook.com and Zva Creative had a contest and I entered my Zva cards and I WON!! YAY! I can hardly wait until my loot shows up lol!

Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #31

It's Sunday and that means it is time for another delicious Cupcake Inspiration Challenge from Hope Stamps Eternal. Check out today's pretty cupcake!

I took my inspiration from the mushrooms and lady bugs and decided to use papers from my Cosmo Cricket 6x6 paper pad Earth Love.

I had recently downloaded the Around Town Tote from Papertrey Ink's My Timeless Templates and thought it was the perfect opportunity to put one together.

I also loved the plate that these cupcakes sit on and the little decorations reminded me of the Zva Creative flourishes so I used a pearl flourish and attached it onto the tote.

I added a Prima flower along with some Zva Creative flowers adhered on top with a little bit of added stickles to highlight.

Featured Stamper Rachel!!

My fearless leader, Rachel Hope, was the Featured Stamper last Sunday on Splitcoaststampers and the idea is to case one of the cards from her gallery, so I chose this one and used another The Greeting Farm stamp - Snuggle Stamp.

My card uses the Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses for my designer paper, and I use it a lot and LOVE it!

I also used The Greeting Farm sentiment from Keep Cozy and stamped it in Memento Tuxedo Black on a Spellbinders Ribbon tags trio die.

These white Zva flowers are so gorgeous!! and I love to use them, so I adhered one to the edge of the tag die and tied a bow with the Papertrey Ink ribbon.

Not feeling the greatest and I hope I am not coming down with the stupid virus - don't even want to say it.....

Just playing with my Waltzingmouse Stamps again......just luvin' em......*sigh.....

The hearts from this stamp set, Seasons of Love, coordinate with the Spellbinders Hearts and Scalloped Hearts dies, along with the Spellbinder Star dies -how perfect!

I will be selling these tags at our church's craft bazaar in November - which is coming up too fast... eek!

With all the farming and harvesting it is getting increasing difficult to find time to craft.......*pulling hair out.....*grumble grumble.......I do believe that stamping is so much more important than silly old farm work.....I mean really!

Off I go...... out to the wild blue yonder.........o'er fields and plains......

Papertrey Ink October Blog Hop!

Hello and welcome to another Papertrey Ink Blog Hop and I LUV 'em!! This is the time of the month where we are inspired by other Papertrey Ink enthusiasts creations and we jump around to everyone's blog and see what we like and like what we see!

This month's theme was to "show us your best upcoming holiday plans for cards, gifts, wraps or whatever else you have up your sleeve!"

Well, I did use all Papertrey Ink cardstock and ink and some of the stamps and I did sneak in some Waltzingmouse Stamps as well, because I LOVE them so much and they go wonderfully well for Christmas!

Okay, so I made a little notebook with the new Take Note stamp set from Papertrey Ink, plus a matching Christmas card..........the designer paper is My Mind's Eye "Merry Days of Christmas" kit - a beautiful old fashioned paper which is very vintage-y and lovely......

Thanks for coming around and just a note that blogger is giving me fits so hopefully this works today.....ugh....

Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #30

Good Sunday morning to you and since it is Sunday that means another day of inspiration from a delici-o-so cupcake photo...... YUMMY!

Please play along with us by being inspired by our photo and make what every you want - you don't even have to use cupcake stamps!! - although this week I was kind of stumped and almost went the cupcake route!! When in doubt - use a cupcake - you can't go wrong!

After MUCH consideration, ie - asking everyone what they were using - I decided to use the Basic Grey Junebug paper since it has all these beautiful colours in it and make a notepad!

On the kraft paper I stamped the grid stamp from Off Beat Backgroundbackgrounds from Waltzingmouse Stamps in Vintage Cream ink, just to make a subtle background image.

Then I glued two of the June Bug designer papers on top. A few of the June Bug pages have some beautiful patterns that are pretty easy to cut around so I decided to go that route and trimmed around some of the flowers with my Cutterbee scissors and using my Tombow glue, glued the design on top of the designer paper.

Of course I used Papertrey Ink's Take Note stamp set for the sentiment and cut it out with the Spellbinders circle nestabilities and then trimmed it with Basic Grey June Bug buttons.

These little notepads are so simple to made and the 6 x 6 designer paper pads are all co-ordinated that it is pretty easy to make up a few note pads with a 6 x 6 Basic Grey pad!!

Wedding Ruffles!

I made this card this morning, as soon as I received my new Papertrey Ink order, for the Moxie Fab World Challenge - Not Your Regular Ruffles!

I saw the ruffle technique on Dawn McVey's blog (which I can't find now) and wanted to try it and this is the result, which I think turned out quite nice.

I stamped Damask Designs on vellum cardstock with Brilliance black ink, and when it was still damp I sprinkled on some clear glitter! Then I made my ruffles midway with True Black satin ribbon.

The Giga Guide Lines sentiment was used at the top of the card and then I tied more satin ribbon around the top of the damask, added a Fresh Snow satin ribbon bow and a Zva Creative rose to finish it off!

'Tis the Season.......

Nichole Heady has such a wonderful blog - not to mention stamps - and I am so hooked! I saw this post of Nichole's and immediately took a real liking to the fourth card down. I knew it would be a sweet card to mass produce.

Nichole had also shown us how to make our cards economical, leaving the possibilities open to adding a few embellishments here and there, which is what I did in my card today.

I punched a snowflake out of Basic Grey's Eskimo Kisses since the colours co-ordinate so well with Papertrey Ink Hibiscus Burst and added a big ol' Zva Creative crystal to the middle. I coloured the crystal first with my RV17 copic marker so that it would match. It was a light pink and I wanted it a closer colour to the paper and ink.

I also added some Zva Creative Double Flourishes, which I always trim down to my satisfaction, and it's all about being satisfied (or thrilled!) with your creation!

The top of the stocking and the tips of the snowflake are covered with Stickles Icicle Glitter just to jazz it up a titch........

Little Paper Shop Monday, Silent Night....

Well, good Monday morning to you and I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I went to a craft sale in Grand Bend - buying not selling - and also went away for a couple of days to BenMiller Inn - a gorgeous retreat with the most awesomest food - I don't think I will ever eat again......haha!

I actually have pictures that I will share later this week.

I used a ton of Zva Creative crystals on this card and I LOVe it! Lots of colour and fun - I stamped Katie Caroller with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then coloured her with copics.

I also made my decorative embellishments (which I am peeved because you can't even tell how pretty they are!).

I punched out different sized circles from chipboard and Eskimo Kisses designer paper and and my Marvy punches and then glued them together. I punched two little holes in the circles so that they looked like buttons and with my crystal lacquer, I added a gorgeous shiny coating to them.

I also punched out some snowflakes and then added the "buttons" to them and real buttons and BLING!!! Love all the glittery fun!
