Setelah menulis 8 alasan kenapa masuk universitas negeri itu penting, saatnya saya membahas mengenai efek negatif yang bisa menjangkiti setiap mahasiswa/ alumni universitas yang menjadi topik pembahasan, hal ini juga didasarkan pada pengalaman dan pengamatan saya selama saya menuntut ilmu di ITB dan sekarang telah menjadi alumni, so once again I ask you to not posting stupid comment ok.

Juli tahun depan UMPTN atau SNMPTN atau apalah namanya itu akan diselenggarakan oleh konsorsium Perguruan Tinggi negeri nasional dan puluhan ribu orang akan berebut kursi untuk duduk dan menuntut ilmu di universitas negeri. Sebagai sebuah teaser, saya membuat list kecil kenapa orang harus berkompetisi untuk menjadi mahasiswa universitas. List ini tentu saja tidak punya scientific basis dan hanya berdasar pengalaman dan pengamatan saya. Don�t be an asshole and give stupid comment ok?

Being in twenty something age, one of not-so-far goals of mine in life is to build/buy a house, where my future wife and my future child (a daughter that is :D) can life happily inside.

Well, to my surprise, I'm thinking that now I'm close enough to realizing that goal. But being a mechanical engineer with above average consciousness toward clean environment, I'm not going to bullshitting all of you about how I'm going to buy a decent house in Jakarta, but instead I'm going to list several idea about the potensial of nowaday technology in Jakart to support those clean movement by building a green house, is it even possible to build in the first place?

Tidak setiap hari saya mengomel tentang sesuatu, tapi pengalaman beberapa hari belakangan ini membuat saya merasa harus menulis disini, semoga bisa menjadi pelajaran untuk kita semua.
Bagi yang beberapa waktu lalu sempat bertanya-tanya, kenapa rss saya tidak menampilkan gambar dari themachinery.org feed atau kenapa themachinery.org tidak bisa dibuka, jawabannya adalah karena themachinery.org sempat mati beberapa hari lalu kemudian terpaksa kami pindahkan ke sebuah hosting company yang lain yang bernama Qwords. Nama hosting company sebelumnya adalah Singcat (dibaca singket).

Pandangan umum mengatakan bahwa bidang keahlian (jurusan) Teknik Mesin itu cowok banget. Maksudnya, jurusan ini sangat cocok untuk peminat yang berkelamin laki-laki. Mungkin sama halnya dengan jurusan Geologi, Teknik Sipil, Teknik Pertambangan dan lain-lain. Terdengar begitu maskulin, tak cocok bagi tangan dan perasaan halus wanita.

Pada saat saya pertama kali memasuki dunia kuliah, salah satu hal yang sering dibicarakan �bila tidak mau dikatakan didoktrinkan- para senior adalah pandangan bahwa berorganisasi dalam kampus adalah hal yang penting karena �katanya- mengandalkan IP (indeks Prestasi) yang tinggi saja saat ini tidak cukup dalam mencari pekerjaan. Diskusi pun seringkali muncul antara anak-anak yang baru lulus UMPTN itu dengan senior-senior yang ~~tidak lulus-lulus~~ senang belajar, dimana mereka (para senior) akan dengan senang hati bernyanyi lagu yang sama berulang-ulang.
Fast Forward 6 tahun kemudian, saat saya telah lulus dari kampus, mungkin ada baiknya kita review lagi pandangan ini.

Kalau anda bertanya kepada teman anda yang punya gelar sarjana teknik mesin pernyataan apa yang berhubungan dengan teknik mesin yang paling dibenci, minimal ada dua permintaan yang akan diberikan sebagai jawabannya. That's how long I have abandoning this blog, for a couples of valid reasons, and also the in-valid one, I just did the most unforgivable sin a blog owner can do, and I hope it's stop here. At least for a week or two, I'm going to fill TM.org with some of my old article that never showed up before, and try to fire up that ol 'rusty cylinder of TM.org machine.

Hopefully I can get the machine to pickup the pace,and from there.. new beginning :)

7 Days of Hiatus

Well, its been 7 days in action log between the last time I visited the editor room of TM.org. It's been slow like hell in my part due to excessive workload in my company, some trip to Pekanbaru that really plug the spirit to get in touch with TM.org and some lazy virus that plague me lately.
14th February is only 7 days away, and it look like I still got a lot of work to be done. In the end I just wanna saya Happy Chinese New Year eve! May TM.org can be prosperous.

Some Tweak at the RSS

I just read some article in Darren Rowse's blog by Patrick about the possibility of other people taking advantage of the rss content and try to monetize it in their own site.

I am never really taking this stuff seriously before (Some articles in anthronic.com had been stolen and republish couples of time) because in the past, I never pay attention to monetize my content. But I think this have become an important issue to handled, after all, this time around, the content is generated by TM.org so that we can monetize this blog. The idea of someone piggybacking our content just doesn't felt fair to me.

Another Fine Tuning

After some Input from Goyo, I changed most of the font to sans serif, Basically its Arial, so although the header of TheMachinery.org was designed using helvetica, the rest of the theme should fit well globally.
the reason its kinda late to change the font was because TM.org uses several CSS for displaying the layout across all area, and definition of h1 or h2 is spread in those several CSS.

There are many thing that I changes along the way from the version 1.0 of Classic (Classic is the name of TM.org current theme) into what all of you see today.
