We're back and we have news. We finally have the release date for AUTUMN in the US. You will all be able to buy or rent AUTUMN in the 'ol US of A starting April 6, 2010! AUTUMN will be available everywhere. It will be in over 30,000 outlets. We don't have the full list at the moment but we do have a few links where you can pre-order.

Hey, hey, hey!

Well it is a new year and it is a new decade. The perfect time for AUTUMN to explode. We are still unable to say who is picking it up, but we will have news on US and UK DVD releases for AUTUMN very soon now. We hope by February or March. Papers are still being signed. Very exciting.

I look at the last post and see the month of August in the date and it seems so weird to me that it was so long ago. It seems like just last week. Well, the time...she still moves, and so does the blogroll. We would like to be a part of that again. We have a few things we would like to share with you in the next few days. Some of you may have already seen them if you are a member of our Facebook group http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/pages/Autumn/53825378831. We will be posting new reviews, a look at the different DVD covers being used in Europe and Asia, and some new behind the scenes pics.

The AUTUMN resolution for the New Year is more content to keep you going until the official DVD releases in the US and UK.

We also have some really good news that I just can't spill right now. But I can tell you that all of our hard work with this film is starting to pay off.

Thanks for sticking with us everybody! Please remember that AUTUMN has not been released yet and that any downloads you see on the internet or any DVDs you see in video stores are illegal copies. Not only that, they are unfinished versions of the film. We don't know how this happened, but we would appreciate if you spread the word about this. Thanks!

So, a long overdue update:

We have sent out some screeners to a few reviewers and we will be sending a few more out over the next couple of weeks, the final sound mix still needs to be done, but it is basically the finished, authorized version of the film that the reviewers will be viewing. So those should be surfacing soon. We also hope to have news soon of future screenings and release dates for other countries!

The phone has been ringing off the hook. People have been wanting Renegade's and Steven's reaction to the passing of David Carradine. Steven decided to write up the following response for everybody.

There is a huge gap left by David Carradine’s departure from the planet. In the 16 months since he finished working on "Autumn" we have been collaborating on a character for him in our next film “Over the Edge”. We developed an incredible part for him: Duncan. A character who turned out being an anarchic mix of Irish/American descent who is a compelling mixture of Shaman, concert pianist, poet and crime boss. He understood the Shakespeare, the Bukowski and the Beckett in the script. Same way he understood the Bergman in “Autumn”. How we find someone else with that kind of understanding, with that kind of range is daunting.

His performance of Philip in “Autumn” is a devastating 12 minutes in a style you have never seen him deliver before. It proved to me what I suspected, which was that he had an amazing range. As a result he was in the works for at least another four roles in Renegade productions: Duncan in “Over the Edge”, a vaudevillian performer, Laughing Leslie Pockets, in “Café X”, Father Mapple in “Moby Dick” and the senile Ivanovich in “Obsessions”. We also even put together a plan to finish Orson Welle's last film together. A man who has an understanding of those roles and the ability to fit them into my slightly surreal landscapes is almost irreplaceable. Replacing David for his acting capabilities is going to be very difficult but even more difficult is replacing David the kid. The kid that I and the other kids in my company get to kick around with on set and off. The kid that everyone loved.

I don’t know what his family and Annie must be going through, but these stories around his death sound so wrong and it must be horrible for them to hear. I dropped an email to Annie, his wife, and to Chuck, his manager, affirming my support for their beliefs regarding David’s untimely death. I don't think that it is respectful to give the auto erotic idea any energy...unless it is to laugh at the idea. The suicide idea is all wrong. It could not be. There is no way David took that way out. He was too alive. We were talking just two Saturdays ago… he was excited about the script and all the work he had coming up. He was in great shape enjoying his drive… loving the weather…. top down… coastal road…. late for an event, as usual. Smile. He was happy and full of life. There is no way he hung himself. He was way too much of a rebel to take that way out. He was way too much of a Buddhist to take that way out. It is going to be very hard to determine much forensic truth in an environment like Bangkok but I do hope they can figure out what happened. My suspicion is foul play.

I really hope people get to see his performance in “Autumn”… everyone talks about how good he was in it… including at the theatrical sneak preview last Saturday night. It was his last Canadian film and it showed what an incredible range he had when juxtaposed with his performances of stature: Bill, Woody and Caine.

We talked about making Orson Welles' last film in 2010. That would have been a creative riot. We were going to have so much fun. We were supposed to do Christmas together this year. I miss him. He was like another kid in the schoolyard. I’m really, really sad. We sorta recognized the rebel brat in each other the first time we met. There was definitely that recognition… he took one look, put his hands on his hips and said, “Uh-oh this is going to be good, Orson.” I miss him. It’s like a light just went off in the world.

Goodbye David Carradine

This is truly a sad day. David Carradine has been found dead in his hotel room in Thailand where he was working on a film. We feel true loss today as David was not only an incredible actor, but an incredible man full of remarkable stories and unbelievable life. He was only on set a few days, but that was enough for the director Steven and David to click and they became fast friends. They were even collaborating on a film together and both were very excited to do it. It is truly a sad day today.

David, you will be missed by many and we would like to express our sincere condolences to your family. Your presence and talent will be greatly missed. Rest In Peace.

AUTUMN at the Roxy Theatre May 30, 2009!

Okay, we have kept it to ourselves because we were waiting for the Roxy Theatre to announce the date, and now they have! May 30, 2009 at the Roxy Theatre in Saskatoon, SK there is a special midnight showing of AUTUMN. This is the first screening in Canada so spread the word to EVERYBODY you know within driving distance! We'll keep you updated.

For those of you who aren't able to make it, don't worry this is just the start! More news very soon!

Hello All,

It has been brought to my attention that it might look like we are favoring the UK and Canada in our previous post asking for input on where to distribute in those countries. That is not the case at all, it is just easier to make a sale in the US than it is Canada and the UK. Having a look at what the fans have to say has some sway with SOME of the broadcasters/theatres and helps us fine tune our strategy.

Keith, we hope to have some news for the US soon. I wish I could say when, but I can tell you that it will most definitely be sometime in the future. ;)

Fancentric Distribution?

Hello All,

Thank you to those who tuned in to the interview last Sunday. If you missed it, you can catch the archive here. It is a pretty cool interview with Steven Rumbelow, the director and Dickon Tolson the actor who plays Carl. There was also a visit from David Moody halfway through.

Now, we have a few things to discuss today. AUTUMN has been a "fancentric" film from the beginning and it is our intention to carry this through in elements of distribution in the UK and Canada. So we have some questions to ask of you in Canada and the UK.

Hello all. We have some new news! Spotlight will be showcasing Autumn at the EFM (European Film Market) in Berlin this Month. The EFM runs from February 5th - February 15th. We will be able to give you more details as we get them.

We are redoing the Autumn website this week and should have it up and running this weekend. It will be a lot more user friendly.

Now, we still don't know when exactly you are going to be able to see Autumn for yourselves, but know that we will tell you the minute we find out. It is still being shopped around and we aren't privy to any release info until all sales are final. We are not trying to be "cock teases" (we were called this by somebody on the IMDB boards...which, was brilliant), we really aren't. We are just an indie film company trying to put out a film that we are incredibly passionate about and unfortunately, there are a lot more hoops to jump through when you don't have a major studio behind you. All in good time though.

Spotlight Pictures

As most of you know, by now, AUTUMN is being represented by Spotlight Pictures. Renegade chose them, out of quite a few companies who were interested, because they are incredibly cool and they get it. They understand the business and they understand the nature of AUTUMN. Renegade is extremely happy and excited about the partnership with Spotlight and we only see good things ahead. They just finished introducing us at AFM (American Film Market)in California and our next stop is the EFM (European Film Market) in Berlin in February. We had a great presence at AFM, which garnered a lot of interest and right now we are crazy, crazy busy trying to get everything delivered, and there is a lot to deliver.

The future looks incredibly good for AUTUMN but we cannot make anything public until the paperwork is signed and delivered. But there is some news we can leak, for the fans who have stuck it out with us, Steven Rumbelow is planning on putting a DVD together with extras just for the fans. This will be a limited edition DVD and only available for a certain amount of time. Steven is extremely busy getting everything together for Spotlight so that they can sell the shit out of our film, but as soon as he recovers and gets some development done for his next two films, he will be able to give me an update about the AUTUMN Fan DVD.

We appreciate that you have stuck with us. With low budget films, there is not as much money to get things delivered at a rapid pace as with bigger budget films, therefore we are forced to go a bit slower. Also, keep in mind that from start to finish, it takes the big guys about 3 to 4 years to get a film out. They take a lot of time in development and prep. We were able to start production in less than a year from beginning of development, which is extremely quick. The big guys also have their own distribution companies, so they are able to distribute it more quickly when the film is completed. Hopefully that helps put things into perspective.

Everyday we are getting closer and trust me, we are working hard to bring this to you. This has been a production that has happened with a lot of good fortune in terms of the actors we were able to get and some of the production values we were able to get and it has been a real pleasure to be part of this film. I can't wait to see the reactions from the fans.

Hello everybody. I do apologize for the lack of updates to the blog. Things have been super busy here, not just with "Autumn", but for the whole company. This has made it difficult to keep up with the blog. But this is a wonderful thing, because we have lots of news.

First of all, the release date. Yes, that is a burning question right now. We have some talks going on right now and will be able to tell you more once deals have been made. We had planned on being able to bring news earlier, but a slight technical problem with our screener put us behind about a month or so. We are hoping to be able to bring more news about the release soon. I know it may not seem like it, but the lack of news has been a good thing. You won't be disappointed, at all.

Steven Rumbelow, the director of "Autumn" was on Nocturnal Frequency Radio last weekend. You can listen to the episode here. The first hour he talks about his paranormal show, which airs on the Space Channel, Beyond, the last half is about "Autumn". One of the hosts, Steve Genier, has very recently seen the screener of "Autumn" and you can hear a bit of a review from him.

Also, "Wired Magazine" (www.wired.com) will be putting out an article about "Autumn" in their November issue. Be on the lookout for that!

Okay, everything is cool now. The site is back up after a slight glitch www.autumnthemovie.com. Our guys are good.

Speaking of good, I have seen some of the rough cut of the movie and all I can say is WOW! I am speechless. I am a huge zombie movie fan, and it was like a dream come true to be able to work on one with such a good script...but now to actually see it come to fruition and see how good this movie is...all I can say is WOW. It is amazing and I can't wait to see what you all think of it when it comes out.

David Carradine with Steven Rumbelow(Director) on set of "Autumn"

Hello everybody. Sorry I haven't posted in a while. We have been crazy busy here in the "Autumn" world. First off, yes the rumors are true, Dexter Fletcher ("Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels") and David Carradine (Kill Bill I & II) are in the film. Dexter does an incredible job as Michael and Carradine is amazing as Philip.

I got to watch a lot of the filming and it was insane to watch Carradine at work. He is truly an artist. I have never seen him in a role like this before and I am excited to see the reaction from his fans. Dexter was incredible to have on set and he is a true professional. After seeing him as Michael, I can't imagine anybody else playing the part. He IS Michael. Also, watch out for Dickon Tolson (EastEnders), the actor who plays Carl is amazing and I wouldn't be surprised if we see a lot more of him in the future.

David Moody Book Signing

We are very excited to announce that David Moody is coming to Toronto to visit us on set and sign some of his books this week!

His book signing will be Thursday, 12/13/2007, 7 PM at Prohibition on 696 Queen St E in Toronto, ON. Only a few books will be sold, so get there as soon as you can!

Autumn Footage...

Just a quick note to let you all know that we appreciate your comments on the footage, the good and the bad. We love all feedback, as the fan's voice counts, especially on this production. We would like to point out that this was just a taster of raw footage from only the first week of shooting. We have not even begun post production yet, we just wanted to give the fans a little taste. The footage you see was put together very quickly as we are all extremely busy with the shoot. We have only just begun...
