On the 3rd of October 2010, over 60 youths arrived bright & early on their Sunday at An-Nahdhah Mosque at Bishan. It was for none other than the Young Caliph Seminar organised by Moral Human & Development Society (MHDS). The seminar was targeted at tertiary students and indeed, participants ranged from students studying in polytechnics, junior colleges, higher madrasah & also the Institutes of Technical Education. Ustaz Hasan Saifouridzal started the event by presenting the paper "Do we need to align ourselves to a Mazhab?". It was a thoroughly refreshing & engaging presentation that was given in Malay but interspersed with English & peppered with anecdotes & stories about the Prophet SAW and his Companions. He presented the challenging issue in a manner that was clear & concise, explaining the conditions for ijtihad & the prerequisites of a mujtahid. He also spoke on length about the impermissibility of Do-It-Yourself Fiqh, picking & choosing certain rulings for one's own benefit, but carefully detailed the conditions in which this had to be done, for example performing taqlid to the Hanafi Mazhab during Hajj. The question and answer session that followed his talk was equally engaging & intellectual. Divine Inspirations by Madrasah Aljunied Angklung Ensemble In 2008, Madrasah Aljunied Al-Islamiah formed its first ever angklung ensemble in Singapore. This proved to be first of its kind, and angklung ensemble formed by an Islamic Learning institution. The ensemble focuses mainly on Islamic Spiritual genre as well as New Age music. The formation of this ensemble has only enabled the students to appreciate the aesthetics of music by the beatuy of the instrument as well. Simultaneously, it has helped the students to develop a sense of camaraderie and enhanced teamwork within the group though music. Through this album, the first to be played on a traditional instrument such as the angklung. Proceeds from this album such as the angklung. Proceeds from this album wil be channeled to the Madrasah Aljunied Student Building Fund. by Abdul Halim Abdul Karim We readily admit that we live in a secular world. But are we really aware of the nature of secularism and the secularizing process? Do we know how these adversely affect our beliefs and the way we view life as Muslims? In fact, secularisation has caused Muslims to be more confused than ever before. For instance, extolling the perceived virtue of the separation between "Church and State", some ill-informed Muslims think that secularism is to be sought after and defended. They are not aware that their very use of the term "Church and State" belies their lack of understanding of both the worldviews of Islam and of the modern West on top of their ignorance about the nature of secularism itself. For indeed, Islam neither has "church" no matter how metaphorically used the word is, nor is there a separation between Religion and Politics in Islam as envisioned in Secularism. The oft cited Biblical phrase, "Render unto Caesar things which are Caesar's, and unto God things which are God's" was unfortunately misinterpreted by some early Western intellectuals to lend credence to their secularisation project. Apparently, some Muslims have become agents of secularisation too. While the secularisation of the Western world is all but complete, the secularisation of the Muslim World facilitated by colonialisation and the decapitation of true Muslim leadership has come to a critical juncture. In the context of the so-called war on terror coupled with the widespread use and reach of the new media, we now see the emergence of those who proclaim themselves as Secularised Muslims. These Secularised Muslims unashamedly collaborate with liberals of all kinds, ultra-feminists, secular modernists, secular humanists, ex-Muslims and atheists to assert and propagate secular values among Muslims taking aim at undermining everything that Islam stands for. Keep the Tank Full

What in the world is that you may ask? Well that's my motorcycle Speedometers and Fuel Gauge. As you can see my petrol is still fuel yet I still pump petrol into my bike. Above is a before picture.. The fuel gauge just touch the fuel line.. From FULL tank to the first Fuel Line - $14.07.. I think I can save more by doing this. Usually I would pump $20 at a time. WHolly cow what a way to save money!!! Usually I would let my fuel tank to empty than filled it up.. The bike's full tank is almost $50 for your info. Anyways I decided that I have to change this. Because when you learn about Energy Processes, everything that you do, touch or execute comes back to you.

As I've mention before, "What goes around comes around.."

So instead of the petrol going to brink of Emptiness, I decided it should go FULL, then when it hits the first line, I'll pump it up full again. Do you know why? When I keep the tank empty... that also happens to the wallet.. Every time the tank is empty, the wallet is also empty. Opportunities kind of cease... The effects of your daily habits also closes down your doors of opportunities. Its very hard to explain but that is how ENERGY works. That is why there is PETUA that says to keep your wallet thick and full of money. If you are thinking negatively it will attract Pick Pockets or so on. But if you think positively, it will attract more money to you.. The other time Kak Suria shared this with us about Umar Hamid's advice - which is to keep $1,000 at all times in the wallet. And mind you its not for use. Now how insane is that. You have $1K in your wallet and yet you cannot use it. [...]

In recent weeks, I got this question over and over again. The client paid more than $1,000 for a website yet it could not sell anything up to date. Then the she begin to frown and throw frustrations at me. Honestly I get a lot of these lately. My answer to them is very simple. Yes you can have that shopping cart system in place, but do you know how to sell online?

Try to recall this scenario.. ( I believe most people went through it ). Scenario: One day you heard a knock on your door. There you see someone you are not familiar from the peep hole. You decided to open the door and there begins a sales pitch. "Abang saya dari Bandung, saya ada keropok-keropok dari Indonesia. Abang boleh tolong saya tak?"...... and so on

Familiar with this scenario? Well it is done to us from day to day. Similarly you need a sales man in your website. You don't just build a website for show. You need to have that site similar to a SALES PERSON talking to your clients. That is the point of making money online. If your website is not communicating to your buyers, there isn't any point either. It will definitely not sell either. If you look at some of the websites today, they have implemented introductory videos. Videos also plays a huge part in online sales these days. If you are not implementing these tactics then you are wasting your time marketing your website that cannot sell. So if you really want to make money online, get your website to be Your Salesman. Get yourself replace and perhaps you can focus more on the offline matters.

So what exactly happen today? As I was checking the advert I placed today in the newspaper I was quite shocked initially as my advertising agent placed the wrong Advert. The advert in Berita Harian today was last months advert with last months event date and last month price. Sounds like a disaster right? Well to think of it yes it is but if our minds keep thinking that way, we will not be seeking the solutions. So I gave him a ring today to check what went wrong and to give me a proper explanation when he gets to the office later.

What goes around comes around

Perhaps ada hikmah dia. I'm getting quite a few inquiries as a I type this because people are asking to verify the prices and dates. What can be sold for $2? Since we have an idea now to get to $1 by selling your own stuff in the previous article. In fact you can get more than $1 for selling your old stuff. So today we want to go into the market. The second easiest thing to sell is to see at what people use everyday. Be it the nail clipper, a spoon, a packet of sugar, salt or anything that you can find in your house. Something that you need to replenish. In fact this is much better because it helps in getting the recurrence sale - meaning you can sell it over and over again. So scour around the market or shops near your place where you can get it for $1 or less. We are just using the money we earn previously. So reuse that money and look for items like I mention above. Next knock on your neighbours doors. Previously it was easier to sell because the Karang Guni man would go to your house. Now we need a little bit more courage. Just ask them would you want me to help you buy some stuff at the shop? Or if you already have some sugar or salt, perhaps you want to offer them at slightly a higher price then what the shop has offered. If they need it, they would buy.. Reason being you have done them a favour by going to the shop for you. Otherwise if they insists on paying the same rates. Do this. Usually items may cost like 80 cents. But usually people will give you $1. Then ask them, do you want the change back? Usually they don't mind. So yes that's 20 cents earned. I would prefer the first choice. Because if they give you exact then its going to be break even for you. Note your time and effort.. consider that too. Try to do this to a few neighbours you know well. You'll be surprised to make more than $2 within a few hours of work. So if you have more ideas to share. Spin it out at the bottom.. We'll get to the $4 ideas tomorrow.

Well this may sound ridiculous right? Question to you right now is, have you made your first sale? If your answer is NO.. Then stop for a while and ask yourself why? Here's the thing... Many people keep thinking of making that $1 Million but have never even thought about making their first $1.

Similarly its like going to school. You start from Nursery, then move on to Primary School, Secondary School and up to where you are now.

So reaching that $1 million mark is also like attending University in Business. Without the proper foundations you are going to fall without UNDERSTANDING - it means that you will not understand the process if were to just skip the steps and get there and when the worst situation arise, you can't handle the TRUTH. This happens a lot to children who inherited their parents businesses. They are pretty much on the fast lane most of the time and have never went through the tough journey their parents did. I believe its important to go through the phases in the Entrepreneurship Life Cycle in order for one to understand the ups and downs. So similarly an online business requires you to understand the foundations first. Build on that, make that first dollar or the first sale. Then get the momentum going.. So what to sell?
