A child does not know how to fail

Yesterday while coaching Dr Hadi, he shared about how children do not know how to fail. Unlike us Adults, we always look at things - this cannot be done, that cannot be done. However children just do not know how to fail.

As a baby grows, he/she will not know the meaning of failure because look at how they learn to turn over, they learn to crawl, they learn to sit up, they learn to stand and finally they learn to walk. Doesn't matter how many times they fall or failed during that process, children at this point of time do not know how to fail. They continue growing at all odds and finally you can see them running and jumping. Let's reflect back. What if an infant tell themselves, "I can't walk, I can't walk, I can't walk". You know the answer right? He/She will never walk. Because the Child do not understand that meaning, he/she just continue to grow and eventually walk.. All because they dont know about it. So sometimes we tend to procrastinate, we tend to think that we cannot do it, we think its not possible. All that stopping us from where we want to go. What if the meaning of FAILURE is not in your VOCABULARY, what would happen to you. Have you ever thought about this? For us to ponder on it.

Can we become that Child again and learn to walk again without knowing how to FAIL?

Many Roads Home

One day I had an email from this particular lady by the name Rosna. In the email she asked if she could join my Basic Internet Marketing Workshop. I told her then that I was done conducting such workshop and am doing one to one coaching cos I have this problem, I cannot remember names well but I do remember when I work with my clients or students closely. So that's how the meeting with Rosna begin and class started. In my class, I told her that this Internet Marketing Skills are GENERIC knowledge. One needs to find his / her niche area in order to fully utilise the lesson learnt. So while talking to her to find exactly what she would do when ARM with this information, she shared this journey she was embarking. A very noble cause indeed. Rosna came in to do a presentation a while back and she presented herself as a FROG who lived in a pond. In order for the Frog to get out of the pond, it needs to jump out from that pond and reach on to a high wall. All the other frogs, teased and demoralised it however the Frog kept jumping and jumping and finally one day that Frog got out. Just like the Frog, Rosna who is a volunteer with Muhammadiyah Childrens Home had made a commitment to help the HOME to raise funds for the HOME as it requires extensive FUNDING for their move from Mountbatten to the new Home in Bedok North. Almost half a million needs to be raised. During her presentation, she recalled the scenarios where she had very little help from people and most of the time she was left alone fighting for this cause. As we all know that there are so many foundations and organisations asking for donations all over Singapore. So how do you compete? Having no experience, she struggled her way through. However we decided to release it so that more are aware of the situation with Liberal Islam. ----------------------------------- My thoughts on the "Lecture: Liberalising Islam? What Liberal Islam stands for and our Response" By Siswand AlhamdulilLah, I was fortunate to have ample free time recently to be able to attend a rather one of a kind talk dealing with a pertinent issue, Liberal Islam. The talk entiled "Liberalising Islam? What Liberal Islam stands for and our Response" by Shaykh Abdul Halim was at Pergas on 27th Oct 2009. I was interested in this talk because I have heard of Liberal Islam being promoted, especially on the Internet. The truth is, I was already apprehensive about such ideas especially knowing that the proponents were not exactly established classical scholars of Islam. But I reckoned that this issue really needs to be looked at and a lecture to explain what it's all about would be a good opportunity to find out more. One of the first things I learnt at the talk is that the phenomenon of liberal Islam is a rather recent one, the term having been first coined by Ali Asghar Engineer. The lecture began by directing our awareness to the two kinds of enemies of Islam; the enemy from "Outside" and the enemy from "Within". It also mentioned one of the reminders from the Prophet s.a.w. in his final sermon; that Syaitan has lost all hopes in leading Muslims astray over big issues, so beware of following Syaitan in small things. With these two pieces of information in mind, it bids helpful to note that concepts such as Liberal Islam ought to be scrutinized, especially when already established teachings in Islam are being modified to suit the flippant whims of some people. The first 10 days of Dhul-Hijjah are the best and most virtuous days of the year –for both the pilgrim and those who stay behind. They are days of striving to gain closeness and proximity to Allaah and seeking His Mercy and Forgiveness. They are days of Salaah, and Zakaah, Fasting, du'aa and the remembrance of Allaah, sincere repentance, and all other virtuous deeds.

And Allaah swore by these days in His saying:

وَالْفَجْرِ * وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٍ

"By the Dawn, and by the Ten Nights."

And the Prophet (Sallallaahu 'alayhi wasallam) said:

أَفضَلُ أَيَّامِ الدُّنيَا أَيَّامُ العَشْرِ

"The best days in the dunyaa are the ten days."

Do you have savings in the bank? Are they growing or are they there doing nothing? I just finished the attending Millionaire Mind Intensivee the last weekend.. On Day one they shared with us the Passive Vehicles to attain Financial Freedom. One of them was to be in Investments and the second one is to create or join a Business System. Either way it is interchangeable. Someone asked me before when did I began to see the potential of Businesses and Investments? It started years ago playing this board game called SMART Money. It is similar to Robert Kiyosaki's CASH FLOW game, where you learn how exactly rich people think. Yes through that game, we had fun and yet learn something very important. I took it very seriously then and that was where my search for PASSIVE Income streams came. Well today I have a few PASSIVE Income Streams that reaches up to a few hundreds. I am still working on doubling on it the next few month. However what I learn playing that game years ago was that I could raise money fast through Investment. When I say fast, its between 3 months to 1 year in this real world. Its about getting your Money Work Hard for you. If you are a student of Investment systems, you would certainly know about its potential. Some people can make up to 100% to even 600% profits through this and some can make losses. But what if there is a much stabler system that can get you to receive a modest income of at least 20% to 30% per annum? I am fortunate enough to be connected to many people during my last 2 years in business and one of my best connections is one with my student Geoffrey Koh whom have lived the Entrepreneurial Life and Now the Investor Life. Learning How to Learn

Indeed an incredible course to learn. I've attended the first session and within that 2 hours there's so much to learn. How many of us have gone to school and yet learnt nothing from the courses we took? Why is that so? Do you know? Ustaz Zhulkeflee explained that there are enough Teachers/Masters out there but there aren't enough students. In fact there are thousands of people out there who needs to learn but the thing is, these students who wants to learn, do not have ADAB! ADAB in Malay can be translated to ATTITUDE ( I think ). That's the first thing that you need to have before we even start to learn. Well the ATTITUDE does not just consist of you or me Wanting to Learn. You have to also respect the orders of the teachers such as being punctual, such as being 100% focused, being participative and so on. Hence the preparation to learning is equally important during the learning process during the class itself. Ustaz Zul mentions that in some Islamic Learning Centers, the students need to know and apply this before one could even get entry to the school. Will be sharing more thoughts on the class. 5th November marks another prestigious day. Today Islamicevents.sg is exactly 2 years old. Have we come a long way?

Well we are still considered a start up business! A full fledge company usually take 5 years to be a mature company with stabiliy. The last year we did many things, attempted to do things sometimes beyond our comfort zone.

Some were charged and mostly at no cost! Some people asked us how we sustain all these 2 years especially when we had to pay interns, writers and so on.

Well you want to know the secret? Well its no secret at all, we dont have any venture capitalists to throw money at us and build us up. Neither do we have our parents giving us money to run our business. Seriously.

Fazli - He is in his final lap in NUS. Will really be glad to have him on board next January to push all the plans full swing.

Luqman - He's been MIA for the last one year though, but he's still in the picture when we need him. He's getting his first Child soon!!

Do your kids need Tuition? Enroll them this November to prepare them for next year's syllabus. How's their results by the way? Good or Bad does it matter? Well perhaps if they don't do well you realize that their fundamentals are not that strong yet? Do they need to polish those basic information? Yes, January 2010 is still a long way for the new semester but that doesn't stop you from allowing your Kids to be ahead of others right? I remembered when I was in Primary School, I would have friends whom have done and understood the topics taught in school way earlier than I did. So it was easier for them to do the homework and so on. Or your kids would have too much time playing games on the internet or that Nintendo Wii. Besides playing games, perhaps you want to stimulate their minds with academic materials before they start school again next year. So that they won't be rusty when school reopens. The landlord is giving us 6 more months for rent and Abang Abu doesn't want to renew the contract. The issue right now is that I need the space for training? Well I think I need a space however these training can be done virtually too. So do we need the office? The bad thing about having an office is the COST! Whether you use it or not, you still have to pay. Furthermore we have not yet confirm if we want to run the third batch of VIS. Cos if that would not happen then there will be under utilized space and rent still continues.. A little bit of dilemma at the moment. Hmm..

I had only $15 in my bank account

Though I was give a ticket to go to this seminar last year, I would say that it is still the best seminar ever. In just 3 days, your blueprint can totally change. I have never told people that I only had $15 left in my bank account for that 3 days. Yes it was the truth. The only choice I had when going for this seminar was that i can use that money to buy food or use it for petrol. However on the first day when Keron ( one of Harv Eker's Trainer ) taught us about the Jar system, it totally shooked me. I was about to spend away all the money. Instead the lesson taught us to keep a portion of that money first. Gosh that left me with only over $2 per day to spend. And when you are at the Singpapore EXPO, what can you buy with $2 per day? So I decided that I would only use it for Lunch. Like it or not, there were days that I sped off back home to eat lunch and dinner I only had water to drink. Seriously. Then again you might ask, how did you end up in that state. In October, we had a booth at Singapore Expo exhibitioning our services. That was our first time, instead of making money from that event, we made over $2,000 dollar of losses. Well it was hard to swollow and at that time, the bank account was almost zilch. People who promised to loan us money also turned back on us. From that day, I learnt not to trust anyone so easily. So that's how I got into that bad state but as you know this seminar came 2 weeks later, turn things around. The day that I left that seminar, i managed to gain back over $6,000 in just 2 months and paid off all the debts that I had.
