Technology Punch Cards Printable

With summer just around the corner, I decided on a punch card system for my kids in the technology (screen time) department. These cards are good for 10 hours. You can decide on how long they have to spend those – be it a week or whatever you choose. If you do not want to allow this much time, you could “x” out some of the punches. (Or pre-punch them or whatever you want to do… I’m sure you can figure it out.) I plan to print these on card stock. I then ordered these timers to clip on each child’s card.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Click link above.
Right click and choose “save image as”
Save Image on your computer – (make sure you pay attention to where you save it)
Open the saved image on your computer
Choose Print – Paper Size 8 1/2 x 11 – and click the box that says “fit picture to frame”
This will give you a full page of cards. If you prefer them to be smaller, you can print them straight from the link.

Creamy Balsamic Vinaigrette

I felt like a balsamic salad dressing this week but didn’t have one in the refrigerator. I figured I could make one with items I had on hand and tweaked a recipe I found online. It was the perfect flavor – light and not overwhelming. Makes my mouth water thinking about it again!

Creamy Balsamic Vinaigrette

1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
1 1/2 teaspoons mayonnaise
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon sugar
3/4 cup olive oil, extra virgin
salt
fresh ground black pepper

Directions:

Whisk balsamic vinegar, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard and sugar together. Add olive oil while whisking until all the oil is incorporated. Season with salt and fresh ground black pepper.

Refrigerate until needed.

Pear & Goat Cheese Salad

We have a fantastic little market near my house. It’s basically a discount Whole Foods – they have amazing weekly produce deals, and a nice selection of interesting cheeses. Last week, they had goat cheese on sale. I absolutely LOVE goat cheese – it’s creamy and tangy, and just SO yummy. It adds the perfect little special touch to a simple salad. I whipped up this salad for a cookout over Mother’s Day weekend, and it was a huge hit! The balsamic dressing recipe I used is courtesy of Emeril Lagasse, and it’s perfect for salads like this!

Pear & Goat Cheese Salad

1/4 C balsamic vinegar (I used fig infused)
2 teaspoons dark brown sugar
1 TBS chopped garlic
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
3/4 c olive oil
Spring salad greens
1 pear, thinly sliced
1/2 C glazed almonds
1/4 C craisins
2 TBS goat cheese, crumbled

Make the dressing by placing the first 6 ingredients in a blender or food processor, and pureeing until combined. Assemble the salad by tossing the salad greens, pear, almonds, and craisins in a large bowl with some of the dressing (start with a small amount of dressing – you can always add more). Place salad in individual serving bowls and top with a sprinkling of goat cheese.
