1. Healing Skin Balm - Cannuka | This is my absolute favorite CBD lotion. It feels incredibly soft when you’re applying it and doesn’t reek of weed like a lot of other CBD products. Great for aches and pains or even just to use as a normal moisturizer.

EDIBLES

1. CBD Gumdrops - Lord Jones | These are amazing! These gummies are all natural, have a high dosage of CBD, and they taste INCREDIBLE. They’re sugary and sweet which helps to naturally raise your mood before the CBD kicks in. Honestly, the only downside of these is that they only come with 9 in a box, so you go through them pretty quickly. Definitely still worth it though!

2. Lemon Tincture - Lord Jones | This is a really cool product that I was first introduced to by Lord Jones. Basically you put an entire droppers worth of this under your tongue and hold it there for 60 seconds, then swallow. This one tastes super yummy, though the texture is a liiiiittle oil-y which feels weird. But I find this hits faster than the gummies do, so they’re great for a quick fix.

OILS

1. Royal Oil - Lord Jones | I love using this product in a plethora of ways. I mix it in with lotions, serums, and other facial oils, or just apply straight to my face. I love using a small amount of this targeted on break outs too. However, I have to say, this stuff smells like straight up weed. The smell fades super quickly, but when you’re first putting it on, don’t be surprised if you notice a strange smell.

2. Body Oil Roller - Lord Jones | This has been my go to for aches and pains lately. It works great when my back is feeling tight. It also works as a hangover cure though! When I have a headache I just roll some of this across my head and you can feel the headache fading away. Simply wonderful!

If you don’t know, I get my hair chemically straightened. The process itself is very rough on my hair, even though I only need to do it twice a year. I’ve been having this treatment done for nearly 13 years now (wow!) and, over the years, I’ve definitely seen this process have negative effects on my hair.

I also did a ton of traveling this summer and that had an impact on my hair. I’ve been constantly applying heat and tons of product into my hair for different occasions like the wedding I went to a few weeks ago. HAWAII //

First of all, DUH this is on my list. Hawaii was the first place I ever visited where I felt like ‘holy shit, I want to move to this place.’ I’ve never experienced a culture like Hawaii before and I’m obsessed with it. It’s so relaxing and so beautiful. And obviously, there’s tons of seafood which is a dream come true for a seafood fiend like me. There’s tons to do and so many islands to explore. I’ve only ever been to Oahu, but I’m looking forward to the next time I can go there and explore somewhere new.

AMSTERDAM //

Amsterdam is such an incredible city. It’s crazy beautiful and has so much amazing history. There’s honestly so much to do there, I barely got to scratch the surface on my trip there. Around every corner is another perfect canal and it’s super walkable which I love when I’m on vacation. It’s just the perfect, idealistic European city.

VENAFRO //

Venafro is the perfect small town Italy location that everyone should visit in their life. Not only is it by far the most beautiful place in Italy that I visited, but it’s so quiet and quaint. And on top of that, there’s a surprisingly good amount of things to do there for such a small town. There are a few museums which are unlike any museums you’ll visit anywhere else in Italy. And we stayed in the most gorgeous bed and breakfast called Dimora Del Prete, run by the kindest woman named Dorothy. It’s the place to say while visiting. Most importantly, no matter where you go to eat the food will be delicious. Restaurants there can’t live off tourism like other places in Italy, so it actually has to be good enough for locals to go to in order to remain open. I can’t wait to be able to go back to Venafro.

PORTLAND //

On this trip, I visited Portland and Seattle and, I have to say, Portland really won for me. The food there was amazing (which is always the most important part while I’m traveling) and it was so beautiful. There are waterfalls around every corner and so many amazing hikes you can do. It’s definitely worth it to do both cities if you’re in the PNW, but if you only have time for one, choose Portland.

COSTA RICA //

Finishing off my list here is Costa Rica. Costa Rica is a true jungle getaway and I loved every second. We stayed at the most gorgeous all-inclusive while there and around every corner was something more beautiful than the last. Being surrounded by nature for a few days is just undeniably good for the soul. I can’t wait to make my way back to Costa Rica sometime in the future.

WHERE WE STAYED

I wanted to give a big shout out to the Hyatt Ziva which is where all of the photos in this post were shot! They allowed us to stay at their resort for our getaway and it was a perfect location for our first vacation as a couple. The resort is incredibly relaxing and had delicious food, which is always up there as more important on a vacation for me! However, the thing I have to point out the most is the service. 1. Wet Brush

I think I’m on my 5th or 6th wet brush at this point. I basically need one ready for me a moments notice. I like to have one in my bedroom, one where I do my makeup, one in my beach bag, and one at my boyfriend’s house. I just love how easily these glide through your hair without pulling or breaking. Trust me, if you’re going to buy anything off of this list, buy a wet brush!!

2. Ole Henriksen Glow Cycle Retin-Alt Serum

A major obsession of mine! I got into using retinal towards the end of 2018 and this has been my favorite retinal product I’ve tried. I use it every morning before I put my makeup on as a base and I love the way it sets up my skin to look great under my makeup. This one in particular smells delicious too and I truly think it’s worth the price tag.

3. It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer

This has been a staple in my makeup collection for probably four years now. The creamy, thick formula is amazing for covering without making your skin look dry or cakey. The tube is pretty small, so it’s easy to carry in a bag with you and a little goes a long way, so it will last you forever! No matter what concealer I may try, I always come back to my Bye Bye Under Eye.

4. Mario Badescu Drying Lotion

This. Is. Magic. I’m probably on my 6th bottle of this and I don’t see a reason why I wouldn’t keep repurchasing this. If you struggle with acne in any way, this is the product for you. The difference you’ll see, even just overnight wearing it, will blow your mind. It clears up your skin quickly without drying it out, which is a tough combo to find. Warning though, you can’t travel with it because if you mix up the sediment at the bottom and the liquid in the jar you’ll see your product disappear twice as fast!

5. Garnier Micellar Water

Micellar water is my favorite way to remove my makeup. I don’t feel like it’s adding tons of grease to my face like I do when I use a makeup wipe. Even on lazy days where I don’t want to wash my face after using the micellar water, my skin still feels clean and makeup free.

6. Pink Sugar Perfume

Admittedly, I’m not big on perfume. I wore it a lot more when I was going on dates than I do now that I’m in a relationship. However, without a doubt, the perfume I’m reaching for is Pink Sugar. It seems amazing, a little sweet without being overbearing. Every time I wear it I get compliments whether it be from friends, a date, or even uber drivers! If you’re looking for a great, every day perfume I recommend giving this one a go.

Almost every hobby I have ever had has turned into a career (and for that I am very lucky), so I would have to say watching as much tv shows as possible, is probably the closest thing I have to a hobby! Seriously, I love tv. I would rather binge a tv show any day over watching a movie. So today I’m running you through five tv shows that are incredibly easy to binge and that I think you’ll love!

YOUNGER (hulu)

Younger first drew me in because it combined Hilary Duff (queen of Disney Channel) and Sutton Foster (queen of Broadway), so I knew I had to watch. And it has not disappointed. Season 6 of Younger is about to premiere, but trust me, it’s well worth your time. Plus the episodes are all less than 30 minutes, which, in my mind, makes for the perfect binge-worthy show. If you’re into goofy comedy, a bit of drama, and a lot of relationships, you’ll love this show!

DEAD TO ME (netflix)

I went through this one in two days, but to be honest, it would have only taken one if I didn’t have somewhere to be. There are only 10 episodes, so it’s super easy to get through with each episode landing at just 30 minutes. This crime drama will keep you hooked on what will happen next through every episode. The characters are all likable in their own right and make it very hard to know who you’re meant to be rooting for. Brilliantly written, brilliantly acted, I can’t recommend it enough!

FRIENDS FROM COLLEGE (netflix)

One of my favs and I’m devastated it won’t be coming back for another season! But the first two seasons are still totally binge-worthy. Again, the short episodes mean you’ll fly through each of them, and the story is so fun to watch unfold. It’s funny and sweet and sad all wrapped up into one. Add this amazing cast into the mix and we have a recipe for an awesome show. Still hoping that Netflix will change its mind and bring it back!

SELLING SUNSET (netflix)

I had to throw a reality show in there for all of the reality junkies like me! This show documents women who work for a high-end real estate company who are are constantly competing for the largest commission. It’s a little trashy with some of the drama that unfolds and also fun to see all the giant houses around LA. If you’re looking for something dumb that is almost not worth even paying attention to (aka the best of reality tv), definitely give this one a binge.

GOOD GIRLS (hulu)

There are only two seasons of this show and even though the episodes are a bit longer (45 minutes each), it flies by! I finished season one right before season two was about to start and probably made it through the whole thing in 3 days. Three awesome women committing crimes together and constantly being on the verge of being caught is apparently the perfect recipe for a show. Season 2 just ended, so now is the perfect time to binge both seasons before season 3 comes back next year.

Amsterdam honestly blew my mind. I don’t think I had many expectations for what it would be, but it seriously exceeded them. It was one of the most picturesque cities I have ever seen. Around every corner was something new to enchant you. Seeing the Anne Frank house was haunting and beautiful and I got to see Van Gogh’s self portrait which was incredibly cool! I can’t wait to visit this city again and hopefully have more than just a day here to explore!

Rome was another one of my favorite stops on this trip. Even though we had pretty terrible weather while we were there (rain and even HAIL), it was where I saw some of the most amazing things I’ve ever laid eyes on. Seeing the Sistine Chapel was unbelievable as well as getting to check out the Trevi Fountain and the Coliseum. Let’s just say, I was living my best Lizzie McGuire life while I was there.

I’ll admit it… I’m a bit of a Starbucks addict. There’s one just paces away from where I live and it makes it just far too easy to get whenever I want. My usual drinks have changed quite a bit throughout the years (anyone around from when I used to only drink black iced teas with 8 pumps of classic? lol), so today I thought I would share my three favorites that have withstood the test of time and that I think are really worth giving a try. I think I hit something for every mood below, so I hope there’s something that catches your eye and inspires you to switch up your order the next time you’re at Starbucks.

Peach Citrus White Tea

What to Order: An iced sweetened peach citrus white tea with no lemonade.
This is my go-to summer drink without fail for years now. Nothing is better or more refreshing in my opinion. It’s peachy and sweet which is so perfect for when the weather gets warmer. I don’t personally like mine with lemonade because I want the peach flavor to be the most predominant in the drink, but I’m sure it’s delicious with the lemonade in it as well.

Vanilla Chai Tea Latte

What to Order: An iced vanilla chai tea latte with non fat milk and sugar free vanilla.
Ooof that order is a mouthful, no wonder my boyfriend hates having to order it for me! But trust me, it’s the way to go. This chai is creamy, delicious, and so satisfying. Skip out on the sugar free vanilla if you want it to be slightly less sweet, but anyone who knows me knows sweet is my middle name!

Medicine Ball

What to Order: A medicine ball
Nice and simple compared to that last order, huh? Medicine balls are the perfect remedy when you’re not feeling well, or even just when it’s a bit chilly outside. They come scorching hot, so prepare for a little bit of a waiting period before it will be comfortable to drink, but aside from that there’s not a thing that I would change about this drink.

Welcome back to the blog, everyone! Today I’m running you through my five favorite bar in Downtown Los Angeles. These are my go-to stomping grounds that you can find me at all the time. DTLA always has something new to discover, so this list is constantly changing, but these are my current faves.

1. The Rhythm Room

My all-time favorite bar by a mile! It’s so crazy to think that I discovered this bar through some random, terrible date I went on years ago. Rhythm Room is a WWII speakeasy style bar that is underground and honestly a bit hard to find. They don’t have any signs outside that announce that you’ve arrived. There’s simply a staircase that goes underground. A bit weird your first time arriving, but it’s pretty awesome once you’re down there! They have live music over the weekend which is always incredible as well as tons of board games, ping pong, pool, and shuffleboard. It’s the perfect spot to go to hang out with friends for a chill and fun night!

2. The Ace Hotel Rooftop

This has become a new favorite for me and I can’t get enough! The view is gorgeous and it’s incredibly relaxing when you’re up there. I don’t know why, but it always makes me feel like I’m in an episode of The OC. The decor is gorgeous and beachy which is such a pleasant surprise coming from the streets of DTLA. The mixed drinks are a bit overpriced in my opinion, but their beers and ciders are totally reasonable, so it’s 100% possible to go hang out here without breaking the bank. Oh, and they have food! I’ve never had it, but it looks (and smells) incredible every time I’m there, so I’m sure it wouldn’t disappoint.

3. Brack Shop

Another new addition to my list! I went here for the first time just a few months ago and it is a regular in my rotation now. This is another really cool and chill bar that’s great to go to with a group of friends you actually want to be able to have a conversation with. The drinks are reasonably priced and the food doesn’t disappoint. And don’t miss the upstairs area. The stairs are hidden in the back by the restrooms and they lead you to a ping pong table and an N64 system! Such a score. I had my birthday here and it was the perfect place to hang with friends for hours.

4. Cliftons

This used to be a weekly spot for me, but it’s be pumped down the list quite a bit because if you get there any time after 10pm you’re going to be stuck in a line, and for no reason. My guess is, they like the look of having a line because it makes it look like the bar is packed when, in reality, this is a four-story bar and even on it’s busiest nights it’s still pretty roomy. However, this bar is so cool it’s still on my list! Each area has a different theme from a bar vibe, to a tiki bar, to even a 20s swing room! I like this bar because you won’t ever get bored since there’s always something new to see. But make sure you get there early otherwise you’ll spend way too much time waiting in line.

5. Mignon

Ahhh, saving the best for last. Mignon is the cutest little French wine bar you ever did see. It’s super tiny and beyond charming. The staff is friendly and helpful. Honestly, this is the perfect vibe whether it be for a date night or girls night out. Plus, is there anything in the world better than wine and cheese? HELL NO! While you’re there you absolutely have to treat yourself to the grilled cheese with fig jam and maybe even a cheese plate too. May I recommend the midnight moon? Because yum! There’s a little something here for everyone and it’s my favorite place in the world to get a little toasty on wine.

Really anything that will taste like pasta, but makes me feel slightly less guilty: I’M IN. So enjoy this recipe and feel free to modify however you would like! Try different veggies in there, use normal gnocchi, real cheese, or really any adjustments you would like to make. And don’t forget to send me photos of your version of this recipe!

WHAT YOU NEED:

• Trader Joe’s Cauliflower Gnocchi

• Broccoli

• Edamame

• Unsweetened Almond Milk

• Nutritional Yeast

• Minced Garlic

• Pepper

• Corn Starch

WHAT TO DO:

1. Start by placing a pot of water on the stove to boil your broccoli in. Once the water comes to a boil, boil the broccoli for about 4-5 minutes. It’s okay if it’s not cooked all the way through since it will get some more time to cook when it’s added into the dish.

2. At the same time you boil the water, place a large pan on the stove to heat with oil and minced garlic.

3. Once the garlic becomes fragrant, add in the cauliflower gnocchi. I prefer to cook the gnocchi differently from the package instructions, so I’ll outline what I do, but feel free to cook the gnocchi however you like it best! Start by added the bag of gnocchi into the pan, still frozen, and allow it to start to defrost, moving it around often to make sure it’s not sticking to the pan. Don’t worry if chunks of your gnocchi are still frozen together. The next step will take care of that!

4. When you start to see the gnocchi cooking along the outside, add 2-3 tablespoons of water (usually 2 to start, then a 3rd if needed). This will allow any of the gnocchi that is still frozen together to come apart easily.

5. At the same time you add in the water, add frozen edamame to the pan to start to cook. It’s also usually around this time that the broccoli is finished, so throw that in the pan as well.

6. When the gnocchi starts to brown, it’s time to make our sauce! Add in the almond milk, eyeballing it so that it comes about halfway up the gnocchi in the pan.

7. Now it’s time to make it cheesy! Add in a whole heap of nutritional yeast and mix it into the milk. You’re free to use whatever cheese you prefer, however I’ve only ever tried this with nutritional yeast, so be prepared to alter the recipe slightly if needed.

8. It’s at this point you can add in the seasonings of your choice: salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, etc. I usually stick with just pepper, but make the sauce taste the way you like!

9. In a separate bowl, combine equal parts corn starch and water, whisking them together into one mixture.

10. Slowly incorporate the corn starch mixture a bit at a time into the sauce, mixing it each time you add some. As you mix, you should see the sauce begin to thicken significantly. Continue to add the corn starch mixture until it reaches the thickness of your choice!

11. Plate and Enjoy!
