One of these is 'The Drift', the method in which the pilots control the Jaegers. The below video is quite interesting, with Del Toro and some of the cast explaining the concept. This is probably my most anticapted movie of the year, and everything I see of it makes waiting for its release all that harder.

Synopsis:&nbsp; From acclaimed filmmaker Guillermo del Toro comes Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ epic sci-fi action adventure “Pacific Rim.”When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end.&nbsp; To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge.&nbsp; But even the...<div class="feedflare">

Pre-production has been gearing up on the movie for some time now, with a lot of speculation on who the villain will be. Lee Pace, my favorite 'that guy actor', has been cast to menace the team, consisting of Starlord (Chris Pratt), Drax (Dave Bautista), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), and non humanoid members Rocket Racoon and Groot (no word on how they are being brought to life yet, with everything from puppetry, CGI, and even using a real racoon being thrown about) but his identity is been kept quiet at the moment.

And no doubt our American readers will lap it up on the 4th of July. On this side of the pond we’ll have to wait until August. Gore Verbinski turned a theme parked ride into a highly enjoyable movie and it looks like he’s about to do it again. Check it out below and let us know would you agree that this could be one of the big surprises of the summer!
Synopsis: From producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Gore Verbinski, the filmmaking team behind the blockbuster “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise, comes Disney/Jerry Bruckheimer Films’ “The Lone Ranger,” a thrilling adventure infused with action and humor, in which the famed masked hero is brought to life through new eyes.&#160; Native American spirit warrior Tonto (Johnny Depp) recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid (Armie Hammer),...<div class="feedflare">

Movies and video games. As you all know by now, Microsoft have unveiled the Xbox One today. My own first thoughts are great system, good integration with all things to do with TV and movies, but the games are leaving me a little underwhelmed. But, Microsoft have fired a major shot over the Sony bow (and they knocked them the fuck out with this presentation compared to the PS4 one) by getting Steven Speilberg on board to executive produce a live action series based on the Halo series for Xbox One. The involvement of Spielberg is unknown at this point, but I can’t imagine it being much with the exec producer title. I think this is the best trailer yet, some good action sequences in there and I especially like the start with Famke Janssen returning as Jean Grey, but it still isn't exactly blowing me away. Also, touching on somehing I ranted about in an earlier post about the Viper character poster, it seems they have changed her character from the comics and made her an actual snake woman. Forked tongue, shedding skin, the whole shebang.

As awesome as all the posters and footage for the movie that has been released lately is, it is just making the wait even longer. I'm seriously thinking of just hibernating till June 14th!

Now Fox have unveiled two more posters in the series, this time focusing on Yukio (Rila Fukushima) and Viper (Svetlana Khodchenkova). Same as the other two, they are really cool images, and I like that the promo campaign is doing something different, but, and this is speaking purely as a grumpy comic book fan, I don't like how literal the Viper poster is, giving her a forked tongue. Unless something changes drastically in the movie, she is not a snake woman, and I think using green, the colour the character is most associated with (and the colour of Khodchenkova's costume in the movie), ink instead would have been a better way to represent her. Thank you for indulging my mini fanboy rant there.

Li BingBing has been cast. The full release from Paramount is below.
Michael Bay and Paramount Pictures jointly announced today that Chinese actress Li Bingbing (“RESIDENT EVIL: RETRIBUTION”) has been cast in the eagerly awaited “TRANSFORMERS 4.” The actress joins Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer, Jack Reynor, Nicola Peltz and Sophia Myles in the fourth installment in the hit series of movies based on the best-selling Hasbro toyline. Paramount Pictures will release the film on June 27th, 2014.
“I am excited to have Li Bingbing join our cast and to be shooting portions of the movie in her native China. I have always aspired to work with the best actors and this cast is especially exciting now with the addition of Li,” said Michael Bay.
Li’s recent hits in China include the Tsui Hark-directed “DETECTIVE DEE AND THE MYSTERY OF THE PHANTOM FLAME” and “1911.” She has already begun to cross over into American films,...<div class="feedflare">

But here we are with Fast and Furious 6, director Justin Lin's swansong after helming every installment since the third, Tokyo Drift (in some strange chronology, every movie since then actually takes place before it). He was also responsible for taking the series away from its street racer roots and moving it into action movie territory. Under his guidance, they have become ridiculous movies that revel in their ridiculousness. To apply an ounce of sense and logic to them is to miss the point. They exist to satisfy that itch that only over the top action, and little else, can scratch. And with this installment, Lin has brought us not only a great example of that, but one of the most enjoyable pure action movies we have had in a while.

This is one movie I thought I'd never see these actors come together for, but they have all shown a knack for comedy apart, so together they should absolutely kill it. Especially Morgan Freeman and his hilarious reaction to Red Bull and Vodka!

I absolutely loved all of his earlier movies, especially Above the Law, Hard To Kill and Out for Justice. So I’m only to happy to give a plug to a contest thats happening on Facebook, to tie in with Deadly Crossing that’s just being released on Redbox. You can win yourself a whole host of cool Seagal stuff! In exchange for posting their best Steven Seagal action pose, fans earn the chance to win an Aikidogi, MMA fight gloves, or a wooden bokken signed by Seagal.

Synopsis: From acclaimed filmmaker Guillermo del Toro comes Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ epic sci-fi action adventure “Pacific Rim.”When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end.&#160; To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge.&#160; But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju.&#160; On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes—a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested...<div class="feedflare">

At 33 seconds long, don’t expect too much, but at least Godzilla is there anyway, except you don’t see the Monster. The scene is shot in some sort of a stadium, so expect stadium carnage in the movie. I don’t know about you, and it’s the way Edwards mentions the monster, but I can’t help feeling that Godzilla is a guy in a suit, just off camera!
Godzilla stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Brya Cranston, Ken Watanabe, Elisabeth Olsen, David Strathairn, and Juliette Binoche, and is released 16th May 2014.<div class="feedflare">

Maybe it’s me, but I do find it rather odd that over a minute of this trailer features nothing but clips from the last 2 movies. As for the rest of it, well…it’s a bit slow. It wouldn’t entice me to see the movie, but then again, fans of the first two, need no enticement! Regardless, this does feature cocaine fed chickens!
The Hangover III hits cinemas on May 24th!<div class="feedflare">

A movie based on F. Scott Fitzgerald’s 1925 novel. To many The Great Gatsby name may be familiar, and you’d be correct. You may have last seen Jim Carrey read from it as Andy Kaufman in Man On The Moon. It may also be on your book shelf, or you may have been forced upon you in school.
Regardless, it tells the story of Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire) who is lured into the lavish and luxurious world of his neighbour Jay Gatsby (Leonardo Di Caprio). Gatsby has an ulterior motive for befriending Carraway, namely his cousin Daisy (Carey Mulligan). What follows is a tale of opulence, deceit and love, all set in the early 1920s. And we’ll park that there as I don’t want to start delving into spoilers too much.
Visually, The Great Gatsby is nothing short of mind blowing. Director Baz Luhrmann has really outdone himself here. 1920s New York is vividly...<div class="feedflare">

It's poster art 101, but perfectly captures the character, playing on his most well known feature, his glowing eyes. I mean, no one will mistake for anything other than a Riddick poster.

Synopsis:&nbsp;Left for dead on a sun-scorched planet, Riddick finds himself up against an alien race of predators. Activating an emergency beacon alerts two ships: one carrying a new breed of mercenary, the other captained by a man from Riddick's past.

Now, this striking new poster for the movie shows Jennifer Lawrence's Katniss ready for action, trusty bow in hand. It's a fantasic image, with an equally fantatsic tagline, "The sun persits in rising, so I make myself stand", to go with it.

Synopsis:&nbsp;THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their&nbsp;family&nbsp;and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) –...<div class="feedflare">

Appearing on the movie official Twitter feed, it came with the caption "What envoked fear, now inspires awe". It really hammers home the scale of the movie, with the events happening globally, and shows that Del Toro's eye for monster design is second to none.

We've seen snippets of David Twohy's long in production sci-fi sequel before, but now this full trailer gives us a better look at what to expect. We've have no indication of how this ties into Riddick's last appearance, The Chronicles of Riddick (which became bogged down with an overblown mythology), but it's good to see the character brought back to basics.

Cannes kicked off today and besides Nicole Kidman admitting that she loves wet weather, this arrived in my inbox! Basically, it’s the Cannes Movie Stars Lounge and it’s been installed in the Californie Suite of the Carlton Hotel. The luxurious rooms are available to actors, journalists, companies and so on. Much of the press activity will take place here for alot of the movies in competition. So check out the luxury below, and yes, it would be an absolute travesty if some let rip with a fart that would blow a hole through them fancy couches! And yes! It’s a slow day!<div class="feedflare">

A new Toy Story short, Toy Story of Terror will roll onto
ABC in the States (not sure where it’ll end up on this side of the pond,
although I’d bet Sky Disney is where it will) this Halloween. The Toy Story crew
find themselves staying in a motel after Bonnie brings them on a road trip. The
end up inside the spooky motel after the car breaks down and then somebody goes
missing! It sounds like fun and it’s going to be a whole 30 minutes long! With
the amount of gags and injokes Pixar get into their movies, I’d imagine the
motel to be a send up of the Bates motel at the very least!<div class="feedflare">

Director J.J. Abrams, producer Bryan Burk and writers Damon Lindelof, Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman form the creative collective at the heart of the Star Trek project.
With Abrams at the helm, the team collaborated on Star Trek, the critically acclaimed origins story that introduced the adventures of Captain Kirk and the crew of the Starship Enterprise to a new generation and, at the same time, captivated existing fans of a much loved franchise that stretches back almost 50 years to when the original ground-breaking TV series, created by the late Gene Roddenberry, first aired.
