It was special to celebrate with them our students’ accomplishments this school year and the expansion of our mission as we open The Oaks Academy, Brookside in the near eastside of Indianapolis. 

Some of our Grandparents and Special Friends have asked how to stay in touch during the year.  Guests are always welcome to join us for All-School Chapel on Wednesdays, 8:30-9:00am during the school year.

Track at The Oaks Academy is a group effort.  The Track Team is made up of students in grades fourth through eighth.  Parents help run the meets and assist with coaching at after-school practices.

Reginald Randolph and Angela White-Randolph have chosen to honor their son by establishing The Joseph Tomas (JT) Randolph Memorial Scholarship.

The Lower School (Pre-K – 5^th) hosts the morning activities.  After a brief program with Head of School Andrew Hart, guests will spend the morning alongside their grandchild or special friend in the Lower School classrooms.

That same evening, the Spring Fling will offer highlights from each grade’s curriculum.  All are welcome, and the Middle School (6^th – 8^th) grandparents and special friends are especially encouraged to attend.

Governor Mitch Daniels expressed his enthusiasm for The Oaks Academy at the “Replanting The Oaks” celebration of our expansion into the near eastside of Indianapolis, an area that has garnered much attention and investment in recent months.

As a founder of The Oaks Academy 15 years ago at 23^rd Street and Park Avenue in what was then known as “Dodge City,” the Governor knows that only God can spark lasting change that can transform a community. 

The presence of a strong neighborhood school has helped stabilize and revitalize The Oaks Academy, Fall Creek.  We strive for the same in Brookside Park.

The Oaks Academy is quickly progressing toward the opening of a second location on the near eastside:  The Oaks Academy, Brookside.  In this prior blog post, we explained how Brookside Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten classes (pictured above) are currently incubating at our Fall Creek location.

This year’s Brookside classes will grow to six classes in 2012-2013:  one Pre-Kindergarten, two Kindergartens, two First Grades, and one Second Grade.  Nearly one hundred students will comprise Brookside’s student body.

This expansion will increase The Oaks Academy’s total enrollment to nearly 500 students – coming from different cultural backgrounds and various neighborhoods across the greater Indianapolis area.

At a recent chapel, a choir of Oaks students presented “Festival Alleluia” by Allen Pote.  The students joined voices to express this message of praise.

The Oaks Academy’s Music Program includes student choirs, a student band, and a parent choir.  These different groups offer musical presentations during chapels, holiday celebrations, and special events.
