Last week I decided to give my main Tumblr blog a quick redesign. I’m pretty happy with the color choices so my portfolio may need a slight adjustment as well. In other Tumblr news I bought a giant flatbed scanner for my birthday. What does that mean? More Cover Down posts, of course.

I recently bought an HTC Flyer Android tablet. One of the best features so far is the ability to use it as a digital sketchbook using Autodesk Sketchbook and a Wacom Bamboo tablet stylus. Here are some of the best results so far!

A friend of mine asked me to draw a hip-hop ninja. This is what I came up with.

Visited the US National Arboretum a few weeks ago. There were plenty of interesting bugs, plants, old trees and hungry koi fish to take pictures of. More pictures of my Flickr account.

This week’s top weekly artist is Danny Brown, a rapper out of Detroit. He recently released a free mixtape that’s being touted as one of the best hip-hop releases this year.

For this piece I practiced some new techniques, specifically adding values with watercolors. I’m not sure how successful it was, but I like it overall.
