What is Blogging? This was the question that came to my mind way back in 2007. I had passed out of college and then came across a post “Earn Money Blogging”. I am sure you have heard about this term in the news, TV or from a friend. So my curiosity to know what is a blog exactly. Dummies Book defined a blog as “,a blog is a chronologically ordered series of Web site updates, written and organized much like a traditional diary, right down to the informal style of writing that characterizes personal communication.” My desire to write a blog inspired me to write a blog.

So I started writing an online blog which was more of a daily dairy. But then the same old question how can one earn from a blog kept me awake for nights.I researched hard and then finally learnt few methods to earn from writing blogs, so here I am revealing all the Tips and tricks for my readers.

Now the question that one of my colleague asked me if blog is just a website so what is difference between a blog and a website?

If you ask me a Blog is different from a website in primarily three main areas that make them different from a Website:

Regular Content Update - Blogs are more frequently updated as compared to the websites which get updated depending on the need. So fresh content keeps the visitors rolling in and back. In blogs the content is updated as per “Post”. The concept is simple new post on top of the page and old at the bottom.
Syndication using RSS – So the impressive part of Blogs is that you can leave your readers updated using Syndication which is done by proving content through “feed.” In simple terms a user can subscribe to your Blog and they can read the content using a reader or subscribe to your blog via Email.
Conversation via comments - This feature of Blogging makes it more unique and allows readers to ask questions/queries and it becomes more of a forum where a Blogger can explain his audience tips and tweaks relating to the Topic. So Blogging is more of a way of socializing with people from different countries.
Publicity – I know many successful people who are earning via Blogging and the best part is people know the name of the Blog by author’s name. This obviously gets you FAME!
Online Presence – You get Online presence one your Blog is popular and you can get the desired online presence for your Blog .You get to converse with a variety of people and as they say Word of Mouth publicity is the best form of publicity, so you can get more visitors to your Blog.

An Insight into Search engine History

When we need to find for some information on the internet we just hop on turn our web browser and then type in the word or phrase and then browse through the results. Correct? Internet was never the same. In fact Internet has grown up leaps and bounds over the years and search engines were not always into picture.

Internet was totally different as it is now in fact internet was a collection of FTP (File Transfer Protocol) and users just used it to download or Upload files.To search for a specific file, a user had to navigate though the entire pile as if people search for their favorite book in a library. Though there were Shortcuts as well. Only people who had the exact address of that file used to get directly to the file. Which meant that internet was only for the Tech Savvy.

The process remained the same till 1990 Alan Emtage, a student at McGill University in Montreal came out with his innovation and decided to simplify the web and decided to create his first search engine that was an index of files on the Internet, and was called Archie.

Archie was not as smart as the search engines that we use today. But in the 90’s it was a program that made internet users happy. Archie use to download directory listings for all of those files that were stored on anonymous FTP in a network and then those files were used to create a searchable database of websites. Quite impressive! It worked on indexing files thus making them easier to locate and made the internet users happy. Though it wasn’t as advanced as our latest search engines like Google or Yahoo.

A year later in 1991, Mark McCahill, at the University of Minnesota, came up with a better idea and that was to search for plain text in the files. And so he created Gopher, a program that he used to index the plain text documents and using Gopher he also created his first website on the internet. But he also needed some programs that could search for references on the indexes created by Gopher so then he created Veronica (Very Easy Rodent-Oriented Net-wide Index to Computerized Archives) and Jughead (Jonzy’s Universal Gopher Hierarchy Excavation and Display). Both these programs made the web more mature and they allowed the users to search for the indexed information by keyword.

From there internet search just matured and the first keyword based search engine the form of web search that we use today was created by Matthew Gray and is known as Wandex. Wandex had the capabilities to index and to search the indexed pages on the web. It was the first created technology to crawl the web and later became the base technology for all search crawlers.

Search Engine is a Tool to help people find what they are searching on the World wide web(www) or the internet. The world is now running on internet and the search engine is the main tool driving it .The Term ‘Search Engine’ is referred to some search index, which is a huge database containing information from different websites across the internet.

The search index companies use software known as spiders or robots to read Web pages these bots don’t capture all the information instead they use an algorithm which is a complex one and some calculations are involved to index the information and deliver it to the reader.

A Search Engine basically works on four simple ways:

They crawl a website.
Build an index.
Calculate relevancy and rankings based on certain algorithms.
Displays the search results.

Search Engines use software programs known as spiders or bots to crawl a website and to build an index. Data gathered using these programs are then utilized to build a search engine index. Whenever you type anything and press search button in a search engine .The results that appear are based on the data analyzed by the bots and the ranking allotted to them based on their relevancy and the best websites get the top position.Nowadays the major search engines work on popular results-the more popular is a website, page or blog they consider the website to be a source of more relevant information. The popularity and ranking of a website are determined by special algorithms defined by search engines to determine the ranking. They are based on many different parameters which we will discuss in detail in the later posts.

History of Apple Logo

The First Apple logo was designed by Ronald Wayne in 1976,Wayne is also known as the third co-founder of Apple.The logo was more of a portrait and it resembled the picture of Sir Isaac Newton sitting under an apple tree with a falling apple.It also had quotes written on the side which stated “Newton… A Mind Forever Voyaging through Strange Seas of thought...Alone."

First Apple Logo (1976)

The Second Apple logo was made by Ron Janoff in 1976 and this logo was a modern one.This logo was a rainbow colored Apple with a bite taken out.This logo was designed with a bite so that it easily resembled and Apple not any other fruit.This multi-colored logo was more accessible and easy to print.

Second Apple Logo(1976-1998)

The Second logo was used for 22 years before it was discontinued by Steve in 1997. It was replaced by the Monochrome Logo which is one of the most admired logo till date .This logo was more professional and liked by people.

One more reason why Steve decided to discontinue the rainbow colored logo because it didn't look good on the iMac. Rainbow on metal looked ugly while the new monochrome Apple logo looked classy and was easier to print .
