The scam message reads as follows:

Switch To Black Facebook (Limited Time!)
Say goodbye to the boring blue profile and say hello to the black profile!!

Why you should Avoid it:

Avoid this scam which attempts to force you to share, comment and therefore endorse this scam to your friends, as well as fill out a survey scam as seen in the following screenshots:

Do not complete any surveys and do not give out any personal information which can and will be used to harm you. Some surveys require you to download something in order to proceed to the next stage, but they usually contain viruses or other malware that can infect your system. Usually, the person behind such a scam gets paid a commission too every time one is completed by you.

Removal Instructions:

If you or your friends have fallen victim to this scam, then a full computer system scan must be carried out using the most up-to-date Anti-Virus and Anti-Malware software, some of which can be found in the List of Free Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware, Anti-Malware and Firewall Software HERE. In case you submitted a telephone number for any surveys, then you should contact your service provider or carrier immediately to avoid any bogus charges.

The affected facebook user’s wall must also be cleaned out of all spam messages that may have been automatically posted after a Click-Jacking attack (Like-Jacking or Comment-Jacking).

Facebook WARNING: Avoid the “Happy Christmas! Free $200 Jb Hi Fi Voucher!” SCAM, similar to the wall posts below:

The scam message reads as follows:

Happy Christmas! Free $200 Jb Hi Fi Voucher!
[MALICIOUS LINK HERE]
In true holiday spirit, we have decided to give away 2000 vouchers to some of our loyal fans!

Why should you avoid it?

This is another survey scam, but first, clicking on the scam facebook wall post will attempt to trick you into re-posting the message on your profile. If you do it will be visible in your Facebook Friend’s News Feed and they will easily be hooked into the <a href="http://thepctool.com/2011/how-to-remove-scam-links-from-your-facebook-wall-news-feed-events-and-liked-pages-list/"target="_self"title="How To Remove Scam Links From Your Facebook Wall, News Feed, Events And Liked Pages List " >scam too. See screenshot below:

Once a Facebook user proceeds to the next step, they are congratulated as actual winners of the fake Voucher offers, BUT before the voucher can be redeemed they are required to complete a survey. That is the “End Game” for the scam artists because they get paid a commission each time one of these fake surveys is completed!

<img class="aligncenter" title="Facebook WARNING: Avoid the "Happy Christmas!

The scam message reads as follows:

The real reason Demi Moore is divorcing Ashton! Caught
redhanded, cheating with a stripper

Why you should Avoid it:

This is another one of those “Survey <a target="_blank" href="http://thepctool.com/2011/how-to-remove-scam-links-from-your-facebook-wall-news-feed-events-and-liked-pages-list/"target="_self"title="How To Remove Scam Links From Your Facebook Wall, News Feed, Events And Liked Pages List " >scams” that flood <a href="http://facebook.com"title="Social Network" >Facebook News Feeds with malicious links. If you click on the above post (probably hoping to see a steamy performance, again!), you will be presented with the following fake website page, designed to look like Facebook:

This page attempts to trick you to post a comment saying “Cheater” in order to play the video! Clicking anywhere on such a page will expose you to countless malicious tactics, for example, loading fake surveys, infecting your machine with malware and automatically re-posting the same link onto your friends’ News Feeds without your knowledge.

Do not complete any surveys and do not give out any personal information which can and will be used to harm you. Some surveys require you to download something in order to proceed to the next stage, but they usually contain viruses or other malware that can infect your system. Usually, the person behind such a scam gets paid a commission too, everytime one survey is completed.

It will not only alert you of suspicious links but will also inform you which Privacy Settings to change so that you can avoid exposing your private data. The App analyzes your Facebook Privacy and suggests any settings that need to be changed.

It will scan your News Feed for malicious content and give you the option to alert the affected “Friend” about the dangerous content it finds, which in my opinion, is the most important thing to do whenever you find such content from your circle of “Friends” so that it can stop spreading across your social network. Just check out this graphic about the rise of facebook scams – INFOGRAPHICS ABOUT TYPES OF FACEBOOK SCAMS.

Safego is a free Facebook Application from a reputable security outfit called BitDefender.

This App is going to be our recommended method for avoiding scams on Facebook until a better alternative is developed, but rest assured this is an accomplished app that has undergone a long period of testing before being released from Beta as a stable version.

Now go get yourself some protection from the SAFEGO security app for facebook HERE and then follow our STEP-BY-STEP instructions on how to install it on your Facebook Account below:

How to stop Facebook <a href="http://thepctool.com/2011/how-to-remove-scam-links-from-your-facebook-wall-news-feed-events-and-liked-pages-list/"target="_self"title="How To Remove Scam Links From Your Facebook Wall, News Feed, Events And Liked Pages List " >scams for free using the Safego App from BitDefender:

STEP BY STEP: how to install Safego

Click “Install App” to start the process. You will be asked to Log in to your <a target="_blank" href="http://facebook.com"title="Social Network" >Facebook account if you haven’t already done so. Then you will be asked to accept the permissions required for the App, therefore click “Allow” in the screen below:

The App will be installed and you will be presented with the Safego control panel. Here you can click the “Refresh” button to scan your account and the results will be displayed as below:

If you want to access the control panel later on, simply go to your Facebook “News Feed” and it will be listed on the left sidebar, otherwise click on “More” to reveal all your installed Applications as shown below:

Once you can see the installed Application on the left sidebar, click on “BitDefender Safego” to be taken to your control panel. Here you can view any detected infections as well as the last scanned posts. You can use the settings to to allow the Safego App to publish a weekly summary to your Facebook Wall.

At the bottom of the Safego control panel you will see a Privacy Level of your Facebook Account settings rated from Poor to Good. Any settings that require your attention will be listed here too. You can also invite friends to install the App and make your social network of friends more secure. Share this article to do the same thing :)

Finally, there is a “Quick Scan” feature that scans your computer for malware, but although it does a good job of detecting threats on your PC, I found that it does not remove them until you purchase another of BitDefender’s security software. That is just a small marketing ploy and does not diminish the usefulness and obvious need for the Safego App to every Facebook User today.

The scam message reads as follows:

So hard that her screams of ecstasy come out sounding more like a weird Tarzan yell.

Why you should Avoid it:

Clicking on the scam link will take you to a fake facebook page similar to the screenshot below:

The page is designed to look like a genuine Facebook Page but it has hidden functions behind all the buttons. If you click on any of the buttons on this page, the <a href="http://thepctool.com/2011/what-is-facebook-like-jacking-scam/"target="_self"title="What is Facebook CLICK-JACKING scam And How To Remove It " >click-jacking scam will take place immediately. Now the link will appear in all your friend’s News Feed and they may also be tricked into thinking that you actually “Liked” the link and therefore more victims fall for it. Most people don’t even realise that it’s happened to them and so this link will remain in the News Feed for a long time.

As well the click-jacking scam, a fake survey will also be presented to you similar to the screenshot below:

Do not complete any surveys and do not give out any personal information which can and will be used to harm you. Some surveys require you to download something in order to proceed to the next stage, but they usually contain viruses or other malware that can infect your system. Usually, the person behind such a scam gets paid a commission too everytime one is completed.

The affected <a target="_blank" href="http://facebook.com"title="Social Network" >facebook user’s wall must also be cleaned out of all spam messages that may have been automatically posted after a Click-Jacking attack (Like-Jacking or Comment-Jacking).
The scam message pretending to be able to find out who your Facebook stalkers are reads as follows:

OMG! Its unbeliveable now you can get to know who views your facebook profile.. i can see my top profile visitors and i am so shocked that my EX is still creeping my profile every hour

Why you should Avoid it:

This is a scam which relies on the Facebook User to be naive enough to copy and paste some code into their browser by following the instructions in the screenshot below:

Doing so will give these codes the ability to execute any action that it is programmed to carry out, including infecting your machine with malware, loading fake surveys and automatically re-posting the same link on your friends’ walls without your knowledge.

Do not complete any surveys and do not give out any personal information which can and will be used to harm you. Some surveys require you to download something in order to proceed to the next stage, but they usually contain viruses or other malware that can infect your system.

Facebook WARNING: Avoid the “Facebook Now Has A Dislike button” SCAM similar to the wall post below:

The scam message on your Facebook Wall reads:

Facebook Now Has A Dislike button! Enable The Feature @ {BIT.LY LINK}

Although the “Like” button has already been turned into a stamp (SEE IT HERE) it has not yet been turned into a “Dis-Like” button, but I must admit that it seems inevitable due to the high number of tasteless status updates on our <a href="http://facebook.com"title="Social Network" >Facebook News Feeds these days!

Why you should Avoid it:

This is a <a href="http://thepctool.com/2011/how-to-remove-scam-links-from-your-facebook-wall-news-feed-events-and-liked-pages-list/"target="_self"title="How To Remove Scam Links From Your Facebook Wall, News Feed, Events And Liked Pages List " >scam which relies on the Facebook User to be naive enough to copy and paste some code into their browser by following the instructions in the screenshot below:

Doing so will give these codes the ability to execute any action that it is programmed to carry out, including infecting your machine with malware. This particular scam uses the JavaScript code pasted into an internet browser to deliver a fake survey to the Facebook User. Below is a screenshot of the survey scam:

Do not complete any surveys and do not give out any personal information which can and will be used to harm you. Some surveys require you to download something in order to proceed to the next stage, but they usually contain viruses or other malware that can infect your system. Usually, the person behind such a scam gets paid a commission too everytime one is completed.

In case you submitted a telephone number for any of the surveys, then you should contact your service provider or carrier immediately to avoid any bogus charges.

The affected facebook user’s wall must also be cleaned out of all spam messages that may have been automatically posted after a <a href="http://thepctool.com/2011/what-is-facebook-like-jacking-scam/"target="_self"title="What is Facebook CLICK-JACKING scam And How To Remove It " >Click-Jacking attack (<a href="http://thepctool.com/2011/what-is-facebook-like-jacking-scam/"target="_self"title="What is Facebook LIKE-JACKING scam And How To Remove It " >Like-Jacking or <a href="http://thepctool.com/2011/what-is-facebook-like-jacking-scam/"target="_self"title="What is Facebook COMMENT-JACKING scam And How To Remove It " >Comment-Jacking). Just follow the simple instructions in the following links:

Facebook WARNING: Avoid the “In order to PREVENT SPAM, I ask that you VERIFY YOUR ACCOUNT” scam similar to the Wall Post below:

The scam message on your Facebook Wall reads:

In order to PREVENT SPAM, I ask that you VERIFY YOUR ACCOUNT. Click VERIFY MY ACCOUNT right next to comment below to start the process…

Why you should Avoid it:

This scam wall post entices Facebook Users with the dream of preventing spam simply by verifying their account. But far from being the cure to the torrent of spam links on facebook, this fake link labelled ==VERIFY MY ACCOUNT== is infact a JavaScript Code that will immediately attempt to infect your computer with malware if a user clicks it. SO DO NOT CLICK IT!

If you or your friends have fallen victim to this rather obvious spam message, then a full computer system scan must be carried out using the most up-to-date Anti-Virus and Anti-Malware software, some of which can be found in the List of Free Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware, Anti-Malware and Firewall Software HERE. The <a target="_blank" href="http://facebook.com"title="Social Network" >facebook user’s wall must also be cleaned out of all spam messages that may have been automatically posted by the malware.
