in case you were wondering what I actually do with my pen pal letters (I also keep the envelopes). I hate the idea of scrap books simply because they would blend right in with my regular books and I would forget all about them. I keep photo albums, but even then 80% of them are kept in storage or who knows where. I like being able to keep your letters on my wall like this, when I’m feeling bummy, all I have to do is unclip one of your letters and read it, then either laugh or smile. I’m going to dedicate an entire wall in my apartment to just nothing but letters and pictures that are sent to me. Eventually i’ll get frames for every picture, but I like what I have going on right now.

You guys are apart of my every day life.

I’ve been scanning all of my dads old photographs these past couple of months. Its part of his Christmas present since this will take me the entire year to complete. He doesn’t want to keep the original pictures (he wants me to have them), but wants digital copies to store on an external drive and have them at his disposal when he’s feeling nostalgic. Basically he doesn’t want to look like a pansy breaking out a floral photo book, instead he’ll bust out his shiny new macbook and be a bad ass.

I just like how I had the same exact upbringing and childhood/teenage years as my father. He spent it living, and graduating from Okinawa since my grandparents were in the Army. He was also a military brat. Where he has pictures taken in Japan, he’s recorded videos of me making funny faces, dancing around with my pigtails and rompers in the same spots. We had the same life, but just in two different eras. If I have a kid, i’m hoping to do the same. Japan has been so great to my family, I want to continue having our family roots stay there.

Rufio, The Backpacker.

So, Rufio has a moving bookbag. We stuff in his two favorite collars, little chew toy and pack as many milkbones as possible inside. Its all he needs to survive. He’s had this bookbag for sometime now, I wanted to see if it still fit him since hes gotten a lot muscular over this summer. Needless to say he’s ready for our road trip to California come August. He got really excited when I put it on him, he thought we were leaving tonight. He’s so fucking cute, I just can’t stand it. I’ve trained my dogs to move and pack so well it’s sickening.

He’ll keep this bookbag on until either 1) I remove it for him or 2) when he reaches his destination. He’ll roll on his back and wiggle himself out of it. Rufio’s my road dog, guys - we’re fucking ready for our trip to the west coast!
