It’s a timeless question women have asked since time immemorial: what’s the reason why he cheated? Then these follow: what could have I done to have prevented it? what went wrong? was it my own fault?

Damn NO it’s not  your friggin fault. There might be an extensive list why some men (if not most) cheat – maybe they felt emotional disconnection with their partners, or maybe they’re not satisfied with their current relationships, or maybe they’re just too coward to end the current relationship that they’d resort to cheating, or maybe they just couldn’t help it. Maybe there’s psychology behind the act, or just a plain evolutionary impulse. The list goes on and on and on. I’m not exactly sure. But here’s the sure thing: there is no effin’ valid reason to cheat. Not once, and not repeatedly. 

So why does your boyfriend (or husband) cheat? Because he thinks he can. Or, sad truth, because you let him feel that he can, because he knows you’d forgive him if he does. We – beautiful, intelligent, and strong women – most times fail to project our strength to our partners. We even fail to recognize it in ourselves in the first place - that we are strong, we are valuable. Most times we’d feel that we have so much to lose when we walk away from them. Oh, com’on! As Beyonce would put it, we run the world!

Some cheating men, when caught, would even put the blame to their partners – saying they cheated because they felt they were not respected, that the relationship has died down, that there’s no growth and it wasn’t satisfying anymore. SHUT the front door! Don’t ever fall prey to this kind of shizz. They cheated. End of story.

And you know women’s intuition, right? Trust that. Gut feel. Doesn’t fail. Most times.

And I’ve read 9 out of 10 women who’s being cheated on know that their being cheated on. Sometimes they lack conviction to confront their partners, because confrontation would mean that they have to make a decision. But most cheating boyfriends (and/or husbands) when confronted would never admit that they did. It’s rule no. 1, sisters. Even when they’re already caught and faced with hard evidences, they just won’t admit it to their partners. Trust me.

Lastly, I am not saying that only men cheat. Women do too. And as humor has it, women do it in style. And they don’t get caught.

Note: I don’t have years of research to back up my theory. Just my honest opinion.

I was rummaging through the sent folder of an old email account when I saw this little note. It was sent from my iTouch, sometime in 2010.  I just thought to share it. How timeless some things are.

If there’s one learning in life that I would have to make my favorite, it’s that everything in life moves on: you shift careers, you change boyfriends, you transfer office location, you move in to your new apartment, and suddenly… you’re a vegetarian.

But with this valuable lesson comes a very wise action: while everything around you is constantly changing and moving, but you remain stubborn to resent change from within, all the changing and moving is useless because you’re setting up yourself for more of the same things. Agree? Agree.

SPLURGE. Definitely. Because for me, I can go about a makeup-less day with only a thin sheet of lipstick on and still feel good about how I look. And yes, I do believe that a lipstick or a lip stain is one of the key makeup pieces that a girl should not be without. Also, when I am totally not in the mood to put anything on my face, a lipstick does the quick fix to avoid looking pale.

One of my favorite makeup piece (at the time of writing) is a Makeup For Ever Rouge Artist Intense lipstick in Mat 5 *bestseller!*. Bought it last two or three months ago at Makeup For Ever in Bonifacio High Street. I know it’s out of my price range at around Php1200+ because I took a week to think if I should get one before I actually did because am kinda stingy with spending a lot for a lipstick. Before this one, my favorite was a Maybelline Moisture Extreme Lipcolor in Coral Pink which I bought for less than Php300 only.

But the it’s totally worth it.

What I like about Mat5 lipstick is that it’s very pigmented – it gives you color even on slight application. IDK if I was able to describe it properly HAHA. Basta you don’t need too much. Plus it really suits my skin and lip color. This is actually mauve-ish berry-ish pink color, which I find perfect for my skin tone. It’s not too pinkish ( so I would not look like a trying-hard-to-pull-off-a-pink-pout ) and not too dark also ( it’s not like my-aunt-wears-that-shade kind of dark ).

I honestly think this is a versatile shade.

It’s enough for everyday wear at work or at school, because it doesn’t attract too much attention but gives off an interesting aura. And it can also be worn on a night out when you put on a shimmery lipgloss on top of it.

Nuff said. Totally worth it.

Did you hear I’m trying to put up my own franchise of a flower shop? Well.. not exactly. But this coming Valentines, which by the way is the first time I would have to spend alone since I first got a boyfriend in college, I thought of this awesome idea of just spending my day making other people happy. Or sort of.

The idea came to me what I was having coffee with my colleagues two weeks ago. I was sharing to them how I’ve always wanted to be a florist but never really gave the thought a real consideration. And then it came to me – flowers for the coming Valentines Day. Awesome. Since I’m anticipating I would not have a date, I would happily deliver flowers instead.

And so I started talking to my guy friends and asking them to help me pursue my endeavor. HAHAHA! So far I have 9 orders! Yeay! If this succeeds, I might open an online flower shop.

First bouquet I sampled. I want something more sophisticated than this.

Anywaaay. To cut the looong story, I went back to Manila last night to canvas for another supplier because I lost contact with my previous one. On my visit, I got a bouquet of pink roses and I bought a bundle of red roses that I could play around with. I wish I bought more supplies because when I was trying to make a bouquet at home, I don’t have any tape to tie my  bundles with. And yes, I ran out of papers and wraps.

So there. I tried to cleaning two dozens of roses and was it hard! Omygad. I wish I had rubber gloves on. I don’t think I can do this on Valentines eve – cleaning about 14 dozen of roses T___T

I might not be able to finish if I pursue that, so what I think I would do is to get arranged flowers already (unwrapped) and I will just wrap it myself, so I can be creative with the presentation. And yes, I could not make a hand-tied bouquet because really, my hands are really small to hold up twelve roses plus fillers! Or maybe, it would come in practice.. hmmm

And because I miserably failed in making a hand-tied round bouquet, I just made a three-roses arrangement instead. Took me less than 5 minutes. Like a boss.

I am very much excited for next week. I will take some time to find metallic cellophane with heart prints or kiss prints this weekend. I think cellophane or film are better to use as wraps than japanese papers. IDK. Or I can mix and match. I hope to pull this off.

The only thing I was able to accomplished the whole night. Haha!

I was surprised today when I checked my blog stats and learned that my american idol posts are coming up to have the most views for the day. And so I realized that American Idol 2012 has already started! Dang. I have been too busy with a lot of stuff I can barely follow what’s going on with the world. HAHA

Anywaaaay. Am a big fan of American Idol and have been following the series religiously. Reading some recaps online, I’ve found out that Ethan Jones from St Louis auditions has been recognized to be this season’s cream of the crop. He’s a member of a country band but he’s passion is soul. He performed “I’ll Be” in his audition and I was thrilled to watch him on Youtube.

I think I just fell in love with him. <3

This made me excited to watch the previous episodes of American Idol 2012. Seems like I found myself something to do this coming weekend.

As you now know, Hong Kong is my favorite out-of-the-country chillax destination. So here’s a P52L from last year’s visit to Hong Kong Disneyland. I remember I was really giddy like a little girl and soooper excited!! Look how happy and kiddie that is!!

Well, there’s nothing much on the look because it’s a normal cold-weather outfit. Above I’m wearing a sweater I got from a Mango outlet on our way to Disneyland, underneath that is a black racer back. I think the key piece here is the red shawl that I would normally wear on semi-formal occasions.

Soooper expensive ice cream!!! As far as I can remember, this cost HKD18! o_O

O crap, I’m running out of materials I can use for my P52L. I still have 41 weeks to go!!! o_O

Few weeks ago, I was privileged to get invited to attend the Globe Tatt Awards at the Manila Peninsula. I know it must be the friend working in Globe, Winston (or must be Ade – another friend who is actually in charge of sending out the invitations), who got me on the list.

So there, the night before the event, Winston and I went out to find the perfect ensemble for him. I was really excited because it’s the first time that we go shopping together! Yay!

So here’s what we were able to come out with:

Though the night’s theme is to reflect one’s personality, my idea really was to give Winston a new image. If you know him personally, you wouldn’t imagine him wearing worn out skinny jeans of this type or loud shirts or even do accessories. But he totally rock this look!

Two weeks ago I spent a weekend in Patar Beach for the third time. The place has never failed to make me fall in love with it over and over again. I was there to celebrate my birthday, I was with my blogger friends Robbie, Josh and Darwin, and Kk.

Don’t you just love the sand, the beach, the sun? I do. I utterly do.

This was like suicide, wearing cardigans under the scorching heat! But I think it was worth it )

The hat and the cardigans are Robbie’s. I’m wearing a striped sleeveless shirt (Php300, more or less) and cute artsy patsy skirt (Php550), both are from Forever21.

Hello friends!!!

We’re all set for the outreach on Saturday, August 27. Will be sharing merienda with 26 young girls and 11 toddlers tomorrow 2PM – 3PM. The kids have sponsored activities in the afternoon from other volunteers so I will just bring merienda food for them and bring along all your monetary donations

I was able to raise USD120 for CRIBS here in my blog, and people in the office donated around Php4500. =)

QUICK POST. Because I can’t find time these days. =))

I remember I got a compliment wearing this white beach dress in Boracay. A Caucasian woman came up to me and asked where I bought it because it’s really pretty. I got this in Boracay last year for only Php120. What’s nice with beach dress is that you can take it anywhere because it’s super light ( you can fold it or roll it and it’s really small I swear ) and you would only need a nice satin shawl and it would transform from a simple beach day dress to a fab night beach party dress.

The pair of pink sunnies above is from Cotton On in Singapore, bought it on sale for only SGD5. Colorful beaded bracelet is from Landmark department store for only Php30.

And of course, my ever reliable, versatile and can’t-live-without pair of pink flip flops from Havs.

I’m super excited to go back to Bolinao this weekend. Birthday party at Patar Beach with other travel bloggers! Yeay!
