The Smithsonian Museum Magazine is an interesting publication, full of educational information and photographs. Now they want to do more than just entertain your mind, they want to help you feast your eyes on more information and more photographs, plus a little bit of art. As such, the Smithsonian is hosting Free Admission Day on September 29 at museums and art galleries around the nation. So get out there near your Alpharetta apartment and take advantage of free admission to local museums!

Go over to the Autrey Mill Nature Preserve and Heritage Center, located at 9770 Autrey Mill Road in Johns Creek, not that far from your Alpharetta apartment. Enjoy touring a historic farm home, Native American village and general store. The museum is open from 10am to 4pm.

Now that you are in a historic frame of mind, go over to the Archibald Smith Plantation home at 935 Alpharetta Street in Roswell. This Civil War-era home includes entrance to other Southern Trilogy homes including Barrington Hall and Bulloch Home and is open from 10am to 3pm.
