TPA will be joining the likes of Beats Antique, Tipper, Easy Star All Stars, and many, many others for three days of amazing music in a gorgeous location . . . at "Eastern America’s Highest Town, with an elevation of 5,500 ft. Beech Mountain weighs in at just over a mile above sea level. The resort rests upon 150 acres that boast breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains." Looking forward to getting my nature on and then getting down with my man Liminus, tearing up the visuals, this Saturday night.

I had just played a show in Denver at The Summit Music Hall when I was offered guest passes to see Explosions in the Sky at The Fillmore. They did not disappoint. In fact, I found myself seeking out more of their tunes after witnessing them rouse a crowd of 1500. There music is in a league of it's own, in my opinion. One of those bands that has captured a signature sound, but continues to evolve that sound with each recurring album. I love the combination of washed out electric guitar with epic reverberated drums that create emotionally charged ballad. I wanted to give a slight electronic flavor to their track "Your Hand in Mine." After a thorough listen, you may realize that this is less a remix, and more an original. The classic guitar sample is there, but it has been flipped, perhaps beyond recognition. When the beats, bass, and percussion set in, you'll be taken to a new musical realm. I love the notion that inspiration comes in many flavors. In this case, a single melody from Explosions, has been layered into an electronic dream scape. I hope you dig it!
