Because the Da Vinci Code has been one of my all time favourite books/movies, I just HAVE to mention it.

The person behind thepurification.org must be inspired by the story in the Da Vinci Code. What it differs from the the book is that Sophie and Professor Langdon eventually find real stuff that they can live on while people in this game are given a website.

Okay, this is where I want to make a point.

Obviously, mystery draws attention, and businesses WANT to draw attention.

This results in the use of cryptology in business, a new way of advertisement. In this case, skitaos ski resort had people made and launched a random website, which contains the *interesting* factors, in use to attract people in order to blow their company big(!!!). Skitaos is so unwise. It's wasting people's time, and now people are mad at their stupid ideas. >;0

Is there going to be a fever of doing internet puzzles to promote products or whatever??? If other companies follow this idea, then there will be a HUGE problem for internet users and college students whom doing research on their Biology projects. I found it's harder and harder to get accurate search results on google (refer to the example i gave in Off Topic).

This type of business games must stop here before everyone gets annoyed by unpurposed websites on the interent.

Off-Topic:
How I got to know thepurification.org is quiet hilarious. I have a real life friend whose website is registered as www.xanga.com/the_purification. I searched his interent name on google and then this mystery site came up as the first link. Since then I began to read an enormous amount of posts on the topic of thepurification[dot]org, which has nothing to do with what I originally searched for. This guy named "the_purification" can write amazing Chinese poems.. I wished he would publish a book or something. Good guy.

Finally had a few minutes to go back to thepurification.org... I was LIVID that it's all just an add for a resort. It was sooooooooooo cool and I thought it was actually going to be interesting. I don't follow any ARG's but they seem cool so I was all, "Hm, I'll get in at the start."

Grrrrr.

While I wasn't able to participate and help out as much as I'd wanted, I just want to say that I really appreciated all the work and brains you guys put in-- not to sound cliche-- but it really was inspirational.
