Is it me or is this year flying by? Father’s Day is just around the corner and we haven’t even recovered from Mother’s Day yet!

As always we’ve been very busy here at HQ in sunny Lowestoft trying to come up with nice ideas for our hamper website for Father’s Day.

Well we decided (over a few beers and delicious bar snacks of course) that a selection of beers, lagers and ciders from around the world accompanied by a range of bar snacks would be a welcome addition to our already stunning range of delicious hampers.

Wow that’s a tasty photo, do I have to wait to have kids and then wait to they’re old enough to get me one for Father’s Day?  Hell I can’t wait, I think I’ll just order one for myself!

Just a quick one. Here we are in little old Lowestoft and we’ve got Sky News doing a piece on the budget right on our doorstep. It all looks very professionally done, with nice little pan shots and all that. Desmond’s seemed to get the most attention, then again his shop is painted luminous bloody green I suppose we’re painted red so we can’t complain.

I’ve seen that place before? That’s Desmond’s!

They’ve parked their vans right outside our shop. We’ll keep you posted on any further developments.

Here goes… Keep it sssshhhh!!!… daffodils are back despite the never-ending cold weather!

They really are the perfect Mother’s Day bouquet, and what’s more as a real Mother’s day treat we are giving everyone a free Name-a-Rose gift.

Don’t forget we also sell sunflowers, carnations, lilies, orchids, tulips, freesias and of course roses if daffodils are not your mum’s cup of tea!

We’re back again, this time of course, because it’s getting very close to Christmas. It seems like you don’t have a moment to take a breather in this business I tell ya. It’s so cold today, as I write this now I’m being kept alive by the warmth emanating from my coffee. I’ll stop there with the banter because it’ll only lead to a rant.

Let’s talk about you! Well, sort of anyway. Let’s talk about what we’ve got coming up for you this Christmas as the geese are getting fat and all that good stuff. We got a few new Christmas balloons this year that I think you’ll like, go and take a look. We’ve also been slaving away trying to get both InterMistletoe.co.uk and InterHamper.co.uk ready, and to be honest we’ve only really just finished up (okay, I lied, we’ll never be finished A man can dream). We’ve got the very best quality English mistletoe money can buy, and the best berried and unberried holly too. We’re selling the wholesale mistletoe by weight this year, from 1 kilo up to 20 kilos. We think this makes selecting your wholesale mistletoe quantity much easier than before.

Hope this finds you well, we have some wonderful news to tell you, after months of endless paper work The Red Rose Society is now the proud owner of a brand new Alchohol License, yes that’s right, we don’t just have to drink the stuff anymore, we can sell it too.

To celebrate this proud moment in the wonderful history of The Red Rose Society we did the only thing any normal person would do and that’s hold an International Blind Bottled Beer Tasting evening that I must say was a spectacular success, well what I can remember anyway… hiccupIf your thinking blind bottled beer tasting is easy, it’s not, even  Sam (our assistant manager) our eventual winner of our 1st prize (a crate of 24 international and british beers) only got 2 out of 8 right with joint 2nd place with 1 out of 8 right going to Bones, the husband of Susan our very experienced florist (have we mentioned her 21 years if InterFlora experience before) and Damo (our delivery driver) who each won a bag of peanuts,  mind you, we did make them share, we were all starving :)

Anyway  there you have it, one Alcohol licence in the bag… watch this space as we start to roll out a selection of bubbly and fine wines across all our wonderful gift delivery services, we cant wait….

First we reduced the width of the form to make it easier to read, we increased the font-size a bit too for the same reason. We spaced out the form elements slightly so the order form felt more manageable. One thing that we did want to improve was the address bits, we just had a text box where you could enter the address exactly as you wanted. This worked fine for the post part, but it would be lovely if we could just get you to enter a postcode and the rest of the address just fills itself in. That’s where Postcode Anywhere comes in!

Postcode Anywhere offer a product called “Capture+” that allows customers to simply enter the postcode of their recipient and it’ll automatically fill in the rest of the address, requiring them only to select the door number or building name.

This service alone has made our order process so much more streamlined. Not only does it speed up the order process, though, it also means we have a lot less incomplete (or just plain wrong ) addresses that make it through to the final order form.

OK… there you have it… The end of our Eros Day 2012 competition, what a lovely competition it was, we really enjoyed it this year, more relaxed than I can remember.
