Peg Leg Flea by Individuality, Ian Sawicki, in Manchester, England

Peg-Leg Flea
Doctor:

So tell me about your father?

Peg-Leg Flea:

Never knew him! But stuff that,
listen Doc, I am really depressed.
All the other fleas keep laughing
because I now have a peg-leg.
I pretend it is okay and laugh too,
but it is really hurting me.

At this point Fred, the cat feels an itch.
He scratches behind his ear.

Doctor: Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Peg-Leg Flea: Oh no!

A poem of enchantment from Blushfulmoon in Kentucky

~~Dance of the Fairie Ballet~~
by Blushfulmoon on March 9. © All rights reserved

With wings of myraid gossamer
The fairies shine like sparkling diamonds
A fairy of love with a cherub face
She sits everyday in this secret place
Green eyes sparkling,emerald bright
Hauntingly beautiful
In the early dawn's light

They are whispering,giggling,and singing
Softly in the wind
Calling around the castle
For all her kith and kin

Rising to her feet she lands
Holding a purple foxglove in her hand
Standing there in an ethereal beautiful form
The early summer sun, keeps her happy and warm
She then starts to gather her fairy kin
Around the fairy ring
In celebration they all start to sing

Fairies, sprites, and wood nymph's come from all around
They gather here everyday at Huguenaute's Castle
On sacred ground

So today like everyday, they sing and give thanks
In a very grand display
All the while they dance and sing
Their graceful Fairy Ballet

Guest Poet, Williamstown ... William Eslick

Twenty-First Century Progress
by williamstown on August 11, 2007. © William Eslick, All rights reserved

In cloistered calm when bells rang clear
And shuffling footfalls were once here
Now weed and grass now fill the aisle
Of this one proud and stately pile.
The roof has gone, now bright blue sky
Looks down where anguished faces cried.
And priests in snow-white flowing smocks
Gave solace to their loyal flock.
It stood through reigns of kings and queens
`twas apathy that now it seems
Made this house of God superfluous
Where everything now turns to dust.
This century has no time for prayer
Rushing hither, rushing there.
No time to sit and contemplate
This abbey crumbles to its fate.
Where once the harvest hymns rang out
And organ mice ran all about
Now blackbirds, red-breast robins, thrushes
Make nests in the encroaching rushes.
No faithful congregation fills the pews
Communities are now old news
People hurry, hasten, fly
No time for neighbours living by.

One to Ten by Ian Sawicki

One wild feathered flap; resounding sorrow,
two corvine cries to joy's delicate flight,
three giggles of a curvacious Angel,
foresight smiles quadruplets of fine winged boys,
five lustrous white-ish gray ripples in air,
six precious eggs; worth their weight in rolled gold,
seven secrets rustled beneath dark eyes,
eight wishes placed in the mind's fantasies,
nine sighs flutter breath desiring a kiss,
ten jubilant swirls; satisfaction's bliss.

The Little Cloud

The little cloud passed by our town
and sent a sprinkle falling down...
just a few drops, barely by,
but made the dainty violet sigh.

"I'm feeling better, now I'm fed!
I'm happy in this violet bed.
'Tis true I'm small, but I am bright
and wish to grow, oh that I might!"

The cloud then smiled and went his way...
so glad that he could help that day!

Ice cream skies rippled chocolate flakes
whilst I was on my daily walk,
and cream cake cats flicked candy dogs
then howled for jelly baby birds
to flap wings of Turkish delight.

A world of pleasure; so tasty,
always greets my buttered senses,
it's a whipped up froth of coffee
in the daydreams which follow me
through the creations God allows.

by EarthToJim on June 3, 2006. © James Olsson, All rights reserved

Snapdragons snipping and house sparrows chipping
Tidy bowl currents of bubbles and foam
Unicorns neighing as bovines are braying
Dorothy's longing for visions of home
Saturday poets and fields where they sow it
Legislates all they will say
Someone is watching as spell-check is botching
Freighters burn brightly on Big Podunk Bay
Smoke columns rising they're all advertising
Horrid events come to call
Children are fleeing, the wizard is seeing
Curtains which ruffle and fall
Skyscraper terrors from FBI errors
Panic is now in command
Grass isn't greener though Mexico's meaner
Thirsting to death in the sand
Cluckers are clucking and woodchucks are chucking
Various holes in the ground
Insider sources upon their high horses
Amplify each secret sound
Boondoggle bullies heave hawsers and pulleys
Sailing to points on the globe
Radical jesters and double-D chesters
Cancel each trial and probe
Localized starters for large corp'rate charters
Throttling too hard for the top
Canned in corruption, a major eruption
Guillotines whittle and chop
Paradise pushers and Arctic sled mooshers
Pacing their dogs through the snow
Raise a flotilla to conquer Godzilla
Praying it's all just for show
Regiment collars through woodlands and hollers
Line up for battle today
Doom's Day contingent awash in astringent
Conquers as citizens pray

`Are we there yet?
Can I have an ice-cream?
I think I am going to be sick.
Ma, Molly is pinching me.`
Molly starts crying.
`Ma he punched me`
`Shut up you two and behave.`
`Can I have a new bucket and spade
when we get there,
and one of those yellow sail-boats?`
`Why don`t you two play I spy?
(Arrives at holiday destination,
patient father unpacks)
`Ma, can I go and play on the beach?
`No its raining.`
`But there`s nothing to do.`
Starts bawling.

Cherish those lies that trickle from love's eyes,
time's resistance shall stretch cold sanity
as the beacons of anger signal hate,
moments will captivate soft jealousy.

Charm fate with a sorry coloured whimper,
perhaps it will set free some sympathy,
or reveal agony's blissful release,
muster up bare-faced delusion and cry.

Valiant spirit, devour wings of dreams
while revenge bleeds complex putrid pleasure,
hunter and prey mentality cruise warmth
as deceit's piercing howl of triumph stings.

Insignificant, you're exposed in light,
serenity will never touch those lips,
rational thought is going to fail you
for you've tempted my bright-lit innocence.

Now's the time to pay the price of friendship,
counterfeit radiance was discovered
in the damaged mind you fluttered at me,
sugar-coated hugs are salt flavoured snarls.
