I've been neglecting this blog, I have been.

BUT, BUT, I do have a project I've just started up and I'm hoping you all will check it out and like it.

My lovely friend Christian and I have conjoined forces and decided to start up a joint style blog called Theresa&Cee. It will be a bit of men's and women's personal style and of course the usual little life style bits.

I don't even want to admit to you guys how old these photos are. Not gonna do it, nope. I refuse to put myself on blast... though I kind of am I right now, aren't I?
I feel as if I've spent quite a bit of time thinking about a whole lot of nothing recently. A waste of mental space really. I don't mean this in a negative way, but more of a matter-of-fact, self-realization sort of way.
This has become something I've been turning over, contemplating, then leaving out of my mind. I've enjoyed it, I do, all the people and lives I get to know and be intrigued by. You all are a lovely lot. I'm not quite sure what I want out of it anymore though. So here is my venting stream-of-thought.
I'm thinking too much again.

Smokey Natural Eye and Leveling up

I'm not one to venture outside my comfort zone of winged liner and natural tones, but when it's my day off and I have time to have a little fun, why not? As of recent, I have become one with the more technological side of society. To an extent, and somewhat unwillingly, that is. I had to switch to a smart phone since my little pink guy finally kicked the bucket. But one upside: I now have instagram! Wee!

First picture with all these handsome fellows is from work. The guys decided to have a Friday uniform--gray blazer, khakis, white button up and tie. You bet I jumped on that!
Got Italian ice from Confetti in Costa Mesa one day with my friend, John. Delicious!
Third picture is actually from Valentine's day. I made all my favorite people edible valentines. Heart-shaped chocolate chip cookies. You can't really tell, but my real favorites got ones that were hot pink.
The last one, we were supposed to dress up in Oscar attire for work. I decided to look like an actual Oscar. Good ole' shiny goldness.

Too Faced Lip of Luxury and other sweet things

I do love my makeup, but I'm never much of a splurger and normally stick to my necessities of drug store foundation and mascara. As far as lipsticks go, I tend to go with whatever I happen to have already, or, once again, drug store brands.

When there was a deal on HauteLook for a few of these Too Faced Lip of Luxury Champagne Essence lipsticks, the casing in itself was so pretty, I had to get one. Also after reading quite a few positive reviews that is. So here is my super positive review to confirm those ones I read!

The day I got the sex kitten color in the mail, which is what I am wearing in the first picture, I put it on right away. The color is a berry color with a subtle shimmer that is beyond pretty. The shimmer makes it a bit harsher to put on at first application, but it does not dry out your lips at all and the staying power is amazing! In that order I also picked up the more nude centerfold color which is a pinky beige. Really pretty, but I feel it would look a bit better on a lighter skin tone than my own.

After success with those first two, I knew I needed to get the drop dead red! I've been wanting the perfect deep, bluish red, and this seemed like the right choice. It did not disappoint by any means! Like the centerfold, it goes on super creamy and wonderfully pigmented. It actually moisturizes your lips!

My only warning, the red does require first lining your lip because it will bleed a bit otherwise.

And did I mention it smells good? Because it does. An absolute winner, hands down.

Also, can we all just admire my new favorite ring from Madewell. It's a kitty ring! I think I have very well managed to become a crazy cat lady without even owning a cat. Who would've thought it was possible?

Navy blue and a tattoo

Second post on the new bloggity and it feels good! You know what else feels good? I completely rearranged my room. I mean, come on guys, I have a chair in here now. A chair in my awesome little reading corner. I am definitely going to call it that.
Something else new: my tattoo! I am very much in love with it. It reads tibi ipsi esto fidelis, which means "to thine own self be true," a quote from Shakespeare's Hamlet. I've wanted it for years. Though meaningful in the context of Shakespeare's work, I also find meaning to it, stand alone, in context of my own life. Be true to yourself. Act in accordance to your own beliefs and desires, to your own identity. I struggled with this for years. I was constantly unsure of myself and extremely unhappy because of it. Now that I have gained confidence in the person I have become and have grown comfortable in my own skin, it feels so much better to be myself, no matter what other people think.

Hello you wonderful people, you!

It's been a while hasn't it? Happy new year and good day to you all, since I never got around to that.

Today was my first day back to class. Unfortunately. But I figured this is the perfect opportunity to jump onto the productivity band wagon overall and have a little welcome back to the bloggity.

ALSO, I suppose this is a big deal: name change! Yes, welcome to Theresa Cee. This is going to be somewhat of a new start for me, but a bit of a continuation of the old, just better. (Hopefully). It just felt like it was time. Plus the length of my blog title before, Despising Life is so Passe, though I liked it, did limit me. So welcome! Please stick around, stay a while. There will also be some changes in layout soon. All will be fresher than fresh.

During break I went and bought novels in bulk. Did I read through them all? No. But I will say, one that I did, Written on the Body by Jeanette Winterson, is a beautiful one. Winterson's diction is incredible and her imagery is unlike any other. I definitely recommend it.

Wake up and smell the coffee

Okay, we are smelling a bit more than coffee over here. We are smelling a fresh start! Or at least I am. Sort of.

I realized it's been more than a month since my last post. MORE THAN A MONTH! So here I am, making my best attempt at jumping back on board after my hiatus. This is partially thanks to encouragement from friends, and also thanks to a special little post from IFB, "How to Get Back on Track After a Blogging Hiatus." Hit me pretty close to home, you know?

Since you last heard from me, my life has been a vast jumble of changes. Some better than others. That and lots of coffee, school, work, shopping, and delicious food.

With these changes though, I've been toying with the idea of starting over with a completely new blog. I've put so much work into despising life is so passe, but I feel like I can bring something better to the table now. The fear of starting over is always a difficult one to deal with though, in many cases. I suppose we shall see. Until next time!Miss you all so much!

Hello, bonjour, ciao! All these hellos from me to you for the extreme lack of them recently! I just want to give you all individually a hug and ask you how you've been doing. How's the family? How's the cat? My, how you have grown! All that funny business that we get from relatives when we haven't seen them for at at least a month. Maybe a couple days if they're senile enough.
Any who, hair is cut and fresh! I went to the salon about a month ago and told the guy, "cut off however much you need, I know it's bad, just do it." His response, "gladly." Guys, it had literally been years since my last real haircut! Next up, oil change.

The fact that it is October now has got me in good spirits! Except, ya know, that it is still in the 90s here in Souther California and I still have to wait a couple minutes before I can drive or else I risk burning my hands on the steering wheel. Thank goodness I don't have leather seats or else my butt would be facing the same risk.
October, you and mother nature need to get over whatever spat you all are going through and let fall begin!

I didn't quite realize I was in full modcloth attire until listing out the items in this post. I have a feeling that is going to happen a bit more often after this big sale they just had. Oopsies!
The only things I should be spending on are books and gas at this point though. Goodness, yes, classes are back in session! I'm just hoping I can finish in two years and that it will go by fast.

These are the shoes I went with after all to go with my birthday outfit. And ya know what? I'm so glad I did! The quality of the shoe is fantastic and they are oh so comfortable. Taste Yummy Look Yummy: Kat Von D eyeliner review

I know I don't normally do makeup review, but I needed to take the time to rave to you all about a couple products I have bought, used, and loved recently.

First off, I've been on the constant search for the perfect eyeliner for some time now. I got a wonderful recommendation for the Kat Von D tattoo liner about a week ago and was convinced enough to buy it the next day. I was not disappointed!
1. The precision of the brush is incredible. 2. The color is very pigmented. 3. It does not seem to dry out. 4. Unlike what I thought, it is an actual brush rather than a marker tip, which is perfect. 5. It lasts ultra long with absolutely no smudging whatsoever! 6. I have not found an eyeliner I can say I like better than this one!

My second love of the moment is this Bath Treats White Chocolate Mousse lotion. Every time I would go into the World Market store I would go smell it and use the tester because it is glorious! I finally gave in because who wouldn't want to smell that delicious all the time? I love having people pass by me and notice it as well. They have the body butter and body scrub available on the World Market site, which are just as good! Only one warning: I know you'll be tempted, but don't eat it.

One last thing, Ebates.com pretty much kicks ass. There is really no downside to using whatsoever. For example, purchase the Kat Von D eyeliner through ebates and automatically get 4.0% cash back. Same thing goes for cost plus world market!

I am in love, I am obsessed, I am absolutely head over heels for this outfit. And we all know a birthday deserves a birthday outfit. So when I spotted this beautiful light pink and gold bralet and skirt from ASOS I knew it was perfect! Silly me would figure out and buy my outfit before even actually figuring out what I'm going to be doing for my 21st birthday. I'll MAKE it work, gosh darnit.

I have a bit less than a month now and still have one very big decision to make. Shoes! I feel like there's so many options, but at the same time so little for this outfit. Theses three are few of my favorites I've come across. What do you all think? I really do appreciate your opinions! It can be one of these three or if you have other options for me, I'm all for it! xx

This has taken me longer than it should have. I figure with the release of their self-titled album a couple weeks ago, "Randsburg," timing is solid. Now, Randsburg, compiled of five good-looking dudes, Bryce, Austin, Wyatt, Dave, and James, are based out of Sunset Beach, California, though manage to get that Southern rock sound down perfectly. Bryce's voice has the sound of being rough ridden with experience, while sweet in it's ingenuity. It is always recognizable. His lyrics are beautifully written, introspective, with lines such as "With my head in my hands and my hips don't work for free, just a sip just a kiss just a tip to inspire me."

The music itself ranges from being fun, upbeat, and at times hitting on the vibes of dirty southern rock, to thoughtful and melodic, and I'm going to use a word that will make most guys cringe, but pretty. Wyatt and Dave's harmonies on songs like "The Road Ahead" are perfection. Altogether, with James on keyboard, Austin on guitar, Dave on bass, and Wyatt on drums, it makes for some great music.
We like to call it killer music to pull up a seat at the bar and have a beer to, but it's definitely more than that. But, you know, drink that beer while you're at it.

Sheer pink and polka dots

As an update on my previous post--Dark Knight Rises was amazing on so many levels! The acting was phenomenal, the action, the twists, and the overall story, incredible. If you haven't seen it yet, go, now! I'm definitely not huge on going to the movie theater, but after it ended, I just wanted to watch it all over again. It was overall, such a great end to Christopher Nolan's trilogy. He has to be, hands down, one of my favorite directors/ producers.

Friday was such an overall great day! Started off with Batman, then food, then Dave's band, Fellow Bohemian performing. They did a killer job despite all the technical difficulties and malfunctions that come with being the first band up. If you're in the Orange County area, keep an eye on their facebook page for upcoming shows. I guarantee you will enjoy it!

More on topic of the photos in this post, I took a note from pinterest for this pretty braided bun and I love how it came out, especially with this bow to top it off.

The title of this post isn't a dead giveaway of what this post is about, is it? Seriously though guys, you have no idea how excited I am about the new Batman Dark Knight Rises movie coming out tomorrow!

You bet I will be wearing this getup to the movie.

I am such a shameful fan and don't have a Batman t-shirt of my own so I'm borrowing one of Dave's. And the mask is actually from my Catwoman mask from last Halloween. I doubt I'll be wearing it throughout the movie, but do know, I will walk into that theater with it.
Also, Dave's new band, Fellow Bohemian will be performing tomorrow. It's bound to be a great day!

Any other Batman fans out there insanely excited about the end to this trilogy?!

One of my favorite parts of the blogging world is the community and meeting so many wonderful people, via the computer screen. I have a tendency of finding myself stricken with a bit of envy whenever I see blogger meet-ups elsewhere. So when I got an invite to this event from Shout PR I was pretty excited! And you know what, the hype was lived up to and I had a great time!

I got to meet the lovely Beatrice from DearBeatrice, who was super sweet and had the greatest outfit around! I also got to hang with the incredibly cool Ashley from Milk Teeths, which was a great deal of fun! Thanks to her for putting so much of this event together!

And boy, did these girls have some great shoes on!

Did I mention food? Yes food, I will never, ever leave out food. The macarons from 'lette were delicious and these cute little cupcakes from Luscious Organic Desserts were spectacular! I honestly am not normally a fan of company made cupcakes, but these really changed my mind about that.

This here is Beatrice again with my wonderful friend PT who I brought with me as my +1. These ladies really made my night.

And yum. Just yum. Beatrice's mocha from Portola coffee looked and apparently tasted equally delicious. I'm definitely going to make a short trip back to this location just for that.

I ended up coming home, with some silly photobooth pictures, the greatest DIY peter pan collar that we had the chance to make and a fun little gift bag including this cute little sheepy.
