To aid the Scientific sub-committee in examining malnutrition related challenges such as high prevalence of anemia, diarrhea etc, its causes, potential interventions, and for evolving long-term strategies like Bio-fortification for mitigation of anemia, micro nutrient malnutrition and protein malnutrition, To aid Secretariat SSC for generation of relevant evidence, prior to and after introduction of nutrition related guidelines, monitoring of delivery of programs and impact after nutrition intervention introduction or any other issues as refereed to SSC from time to time. Ensure timely execution of all activities. LRS TB Hospital was established by TB Association of India in 1952. The hospital was upgraded into an autonomous Institute in 1991 by Govt. of India. The Institute was renamed as LRS Institute of Tuberculosis & Respiratory Diseases as an autonomous Institute under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India. The Institute is registered as a society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 (XX1). · The Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare is the President of the Institute and the Union Secretary (Health & Family Welfare) is the Chairman of the Governing Body. Director General Health Services is the Vice-Chairman and the Additional Secretary (Health) is the Alternative Vice-Chairman of the Governing Body of the Institute.
