I was invited to Very’s SS12 Blogger Event on Friday in their offices, with pic ‘n’ mix from Woolworths (yes it still exists, online. I told you, the internet is your friend) and large canapes. God I love large canapes. Unfortunately, I forgot to charge my camera (my mother’s camera as I don’t have one, and I had to return the FujiFilm X10 sadly) so I didn’t get any pictures. But I was verily impressed with the effort put into the event and the showroom by the Very team, and that the PRs made an effort to find out who each one of bloggers were by photo. That’s good engagement, also so simple to do. I’ve lost count of the amount of times a PR has been rude to me because they thought I was some overgrown schoolgirl. Then they end up on my dunzo list. It was nice to not feel like a fashion imposter. We were also very kindly gifted with our choice of two items from the Very SS12 collection that we could chose prior to the event. One of my resolutions was to blog more regularly. I’ve failed on that, mainly because of being busy, and also having too many things to blog. You’d think that was a boon and would make it much easier to blog every day. However, when you don’t get the time to sit down and write a post, things build up and I’m less likely to blog. Vicious cycle huh? *sigh* Streamlining and rethinking quite a few things in my life right now. Please bear with me dear readers. I have been Tumbling a lot more – I haven’t completely disappeared, it’s just been easier to share photos and gifs at present. One of the things I’ve been doing is taking a lot more photos. I took this photo after visiting the ‘Words Words Words’ pop-up in Selfridges. You pull a handle, and a fortune pops out. You’re actually supposed to return the ball, but the nice lady said I could keep it. Isn’t it a pretty picture? I took it at night, under the glow of the main entrance. Mint is in for SS12 (Cleide is very happy about this) but instead of trousers, shoes or bags – what I really want is this mint typewriter. It even comes with its own mint case so I can sling it around Fashion Weeks. I scoff at your iPads, I’ve got something even better. Problem is that it’s in Miami. I know black on black on black is the ultimate colour combination but I really do like navy. After years of wearing all black, I find navy more soothing, and just as slimming. Also I don't seem to own any black clothes anymore because they've gone grey.

No twinsets to be seen here (although I am fond of the old lady look) or cutesy jumpers here but modern twists on classics. I do a lot of running around, and although I love dresses, they don't tend to go well with my standard footwear of choice - Madeleine Thompson also has some great grungy pieces including my favourite piece, the Cobain dress.
