HA! You didn't think this was going to be a post about having a baby or something, did you? Don't get me wrong...I love my kids. However, starting over with an infant when my youngest is going to be NINE soon is NOT my idea of a good time - LOL! Though tempting he he!
No...today, I'm announcing the beginning of my new points program!
First, I'll tell you the BEST parts:

1. You won't have to keep track, I'll do it for you.

2. The points will NOT expire!

Now, for the details:

1. Earn one point for every dollar you spend. Whether you via email through me or shop at a workshop/class, you'll earn one point for every dollar you spend in any of the current catalogues.

2. Earn TEN points for every regular class you attend. These classes are the ones held on the first/second Saturday of the month.

3. Earn 25 points for every specialty class or all day event you attend. These classes include: stamp-a-stacks and project classes where we'll be making one single project (such as an explosion box). All day events are my Extravaganza events.

And now, the fine print:

1. Points will NOT be applied retroactively. This points program begins today, Monday, October 1st, 2012 and moves forward.

2. Points are NOT earned on retired merchandise sold at classes/events. This means that if you're purchasing any retired stamp sets/accessories at a class/event, you will not earn points for those purchases. Purchases from the online clearance rack, however, DO earn points.

3. Points CAN'T be combined. This means that you can't combine your points with a friend in order to accumulate faster.

4. And...I reserve the right to alter the program at any time.

What can you GET for your points?

1. Earn 100 pts and you can order a marker of your choice! Markers MUST be ones that can be ordered individually from the catalogue.

2. Or...save your points till you earn 250 pts and you can order an ink pad of your choice from the catalogue.

3. Or...KEEP saving your points till you earn 500 pts and you can order ANY stamp set of your choice from any current catalogue.

Well a huge thanks to the members of the South Clareview Community League members for voting me in as secretary today. That's real honor for me as I like to do these things and a great opportunity for you if you live around here as we have a large place to go for classes. Awesome!

I also got voted to be in the Parent Association for my youngest's school. One more board to get on in October for Paige's school.

Great BBQ at the Community League today too. Our MLA NDP rep Deron Bilious came by and photos were taken and hopefully will be sharing with u later today. Heck I should do a MDS 2 page with. Continue to have an awesome weekend!!!!

A Collage Thank You 4 U

It’s been a VERY hectic week this week and I guess this goes to show you that I should schedule posts so you know that I am here every day. Between meeting new school teachers at different schools, looking after other people’s children and my own, I really didn’t have a lot of time to do much else. I think today was my first down time all week and I still have things to do. Sheesh!

But on the weekend I was inspired by some cards that I had seen using a collage method. Which means I take a large clear block, attach a few stamps and stamp on the CS once. I also miss using my color spritzer tool and figured I should play with that again. Here is what I came up with…

Not bad hey? It is a lot of fun. So tomorrow our South Clareview Community League is having their AGM and I am putting my name up to be their secretary, so wish me luck! Then I have to prepare a venue for a birthday party. I will be sharing some photos from that later this weekend. Speaking of which I sure do hope your weekend is fun and safe!

A Special Card for Jay!

Wow what a miserable day and a hectic one at that. I knew I should have scheduled this post last night while I still had the chance but I was so tired I couldn’t do it.

Anyways a friend of mine asked me to make a HUGE card for her brother’s birthday and never having made a card this big I really had to give it a good think. (he he nice grammar heh). Well this is what I came up with…

With this card I took a 12 x 12” CS and cut it down to 10 x 10” and folded in half. I also didn’t have any actual physical men stamps so I used my MDS2 and printed off the images. If you want details just let me know. Thanks for stopping by!

Well after yesterday’s post I felt really, really guilty about not posting much of anything so I had to get off my derriere and do something today. That means after everything else in the house that needed to be done first! Something tells me I am not alone in that!
I have been wanting something cool to carry my business cards in and I had found in Pinterest a pattern to make business card holders. I also happen to have Stampin’ Up! Flirtatious Fabric in my house that I had not used yet and some fusible fleece that I have had for a couple of years and was still in the package. Between that and some retired SU buttons this is what I came up with:

Isn’t it cute! Now a funny side story while I was in mid sewing my Mother called me and asked me if I would design a business card for her church. Isn’t that a coincidence?!?! Can you say another MDS 2 project coming. As for the pattern click HERE to get it.

Just giving a quick shout out as yesterday was the girls first day of school and to say I am exhausted is an understatement. I didn’t get a chance to create anything. Nothing at all! It was hectic right from the get go, first thing in the morning. Actually my kids were up way earlier than what they were supposed too. Once I got them settle in to school I thought I would have a quiet day at home. Nope!!!! The phone kept ringing like crazy and so forth. Then it got worse when they DID get home from school and it continued far into the night.

So long story short I did nothing creative so I have nothing to share but will tomorrow (I hope!) and I also hope you feel my pain. Talk to you soon!!!

An Apple for The Teacher!

So yesterday, I was getting prepared for school today. Making sure the kids had all their supplies ready and labeled. Lunches ready and in the fridge, doing the extra baking that I needed, but most of all making sure they had a cute card to start the year with!

Isn’t he the cutest! I had to make some modifications because it is actually a 3D project but do to lack of time (and doing the laundry) I decided simply to make it as a card. I think the teachers will get a kick out of it, don’t you think so? Well as much as I would love to say the apple is my idea it is not. I bought the tutorial from the Stamping T (click here to get yours), so thank you for that!
As I said on Facebook I will be putting a tutorial page up here later this week where you can purchase all of my tutorials that I have done, but that takes some time. So hang in there and enjoy the day!

Post Birthday Party Survival

Well we had a really fun day yesterday and my daughter was spoiled. She said to me she now feels like a tween and is really excited to start junior high tomorrow.

Yes that’s permanent pink hair color! She thought it would be cool for school. LOL Any ways she is celiac so I had to make her a gluten free birthday cake..

It looked better with candles on it, he he! And it was soooooo hard to make (ya right!) just grab a box of Betty Crocker’s Gluten Free vanilla cake mix and make your own icing which I pinned, click on the link

I don’t have a lot of supplies in my stash to make men cards so I had to go on the search for ideas. When I came across this tutorial on Amy Celona’s blog (click here to get the pattern), while making some small changes this is what I came up with. Take a look!

I love how it looks like a shirt and then you can open it! Now I am off to do some baking as we have a BBQ to go to tonight, then tomorrow is my daughter’s birthday. By the way can you super, duper, uber excited the kids are back to school on Tuesday! Woot Woot!

Are You Up For The Challenge—Just Believe!

Weird title I know but it’s pretty awesome. First of all I have been following Leslie Sansone and doing her “4 fast mile” DVD for the last month and yesterday I received an email to start another 10 day challenge with her. So I did this morning, adding an extra 5 pound weight while walking. Can you say sweat! Then my neighbour Arla is in the Canadian Army and today she is doing a Mountain Man endurance race here in Edmonton. She has to run 13 km, carry a canoe for 7km, canoe for another 10km then run another 13 km. Very Vanilla CS 4 x 5.25” and scrap

Square Lattice Folder, Beautiful Wings Embosslits

Just Believe Stamp Set

Basic Black Classic Ink Pad

Curly Label Punch

This is so simple..fold over the whisper white CS at the 5.5 mark. Put through your very vanilla CS with the Square Lattice Folder into the big shot. Secure as a layer with snail. Take your scrap very vanilla card stock and your beautiful wings embosslits through your big shot. Take the big butterfly and attach with a dimensional. Stamp your saying with the basic black classic ink pad, punch it out with the curly label punch and attach with a dimensional.

Running behind today so I thought I would do a quick share of the card that inspired my earlier birthday card.

This is one of the cards my upline Christyne Richardson sent to her downline this past month. I do believe the colors are Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight and Lucky Limeade. Once I figure out the stamp set, I will let you know. Now off to exercise, make supper, do some shopping and go home to card making. Have an awesome day!

A Moment Frozen In Time

First of all stupid me forgot to take a picture of the footstool cover I made for my Mom. I finished it at her house but woops there went that picture so the next time I get there again, I will. I was playing with the new MDS 2 again and I found this GORGEOUS template for my daughters’ picture. I love the vintage feel and overlay with the color combination. Let me know what you think??

It’s Baking Time!!

Well if you didn’t know from the picture in my banner, I don’t just do things like scrapbooking, and the like, but I do LOVE to bake! I also have a ton of peanut butter in my house…I am not sure why but I do and my family does not have a love for it either. So I figure I better bake with it then give it to my friends or my Mom.
So for my Mom today I made her a PEANUT BUTTER BANANA BREAD with my signature sugar cinnamon topping on it.

Here is the recipe:

1 3/4 c flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/3 c shortening
3/4 c peanut butter, crunchy or smooth
2/3 c granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 c mashed bananas

Cinnamon Sugar Topping:

1 c granulated sugar
1 tsp cinnamon

Sift together flour, baking powder, soda, and salt; set aside. Cream shortening and peanut butter, then beat in sugar and eggs. Alternately add dry ingredients and bananas, stirring with a wooden spoon. Pour batter into well-greased and floured loaf pan, sprinkle the sugar cinnamon over top and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

Summer Vacation

This is going to be a quick post as we have a really busy day ahead of us. I have been playing around with the new MDS 2, which is a must have in my books. In July we went to Nanaimo, British Columbia to visit my dear sweet Mother-in-law and as always we do a family picture.

The MDS 2 has some awesome new templates so I just through this together. Enjoy!

Cloche Style Hat Birthday Card

A few weeks ago I made these cards for a friend to give as birthday cards. I absolutely adore these cards and the pattern was super easy. Again I am not always brilliant on my own (LOL) and I went to a wonderful friend’s blog called the Stamping T where I purchased her tutorial on how to make it. This was money well spent and it is really cheap to buy. I would strongly recommend it.
What I would also suggest is that you print the pattern onto card stock, cut it out, then trace around it. That way you can make multiples of them.

Yes for the most part I used retired product except for the vintage brads. If you are following me on Facebook, I already posted them earlier this month but I thought I would share here. If you want to purchase the tutorial click on the Stamping T link above, you won’t regret it!

Nice surprises!

Wow I received a nice surprise from my very good friend and upline Christyne Richardson (check out her blog Handstamped from the Heart) this morning in the mail. She sent me and my husband a very beautiful Anniversary card. It’s awesome! I have to say I was never a fan of this stamp set but now that I see it in person, it is MOST definitely on my MUST get list!

Isn’t that the coolest!!!! I have to really, really get that stamp set! Thanks SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much Christyne!!!!

Back to School Lunch Idea!

Sorry this post is a little late but it is here! Hectic day as always here, but that being said I am super excited that the kids will be going back to school in 12 days. Woot Woot!
Anyhow my kids don’t want their usual lunch boxes but the paper lunch bags. Then I got a brilliant thought instead of wasting money buying those why not make them! So I did, well actually the majority of the sewing was done by my husband! Yep you heard it here as the sewing machine kept dying on me but for him it worked just fine. That should tell me something…but NO I won’t give up LOL.
So for two kids and a clean lunch bag for every day of the week that meant 10 of these little puppies had to be made…
