It is pretty challenging to be active and involved in everything you want to be. There are only so many hours in the day, and we all have the same amount of time to get things done. As the internet evolves, more and more social media type sites are evolving. Some, like facebook, Twitter, Stumbleupon, Digg, have, or have started to become household names. Some have become so popular, even search engines such as Google are taking notice and dispalying real time Tweet’s in their search results. Obviously these websites are here to stay.

With the popularity of Web 2.0 social networking sites companies are beginning to recognize the advantage of having their own Twitter, Facebook, YouTube page. The temptation for many companies; however, is to reach as many people as possible and using services to purchase subscribers, fans, friends, or followers. Wayne Peters and Brad Gosse examine this trend.

The Myth Of Long Tail Terms

Internet Marketer Brad Gosse discusses the myth of long tail keyword term. In a nutshell, many SEO companies will try to convince the customer that they should go after the less compatative terms so that results can be realized sooner and the reality is, it is easier to get long tail keywords to rank well on the search engines than short competative terms. One of the problems with this approach, Brad explains, is that not many searches are made with these terms and raises the question whether it is worth it for the customer. Are they getting value?

What is Search Engine Optimization? Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the science of increasing traffic to your web site by improving the internal and external factors influencing ranking in search results. It is a major part of Internet marketing. It is mostly technical in nature. It includes Web programming expertise combined with business, persuasion, sales and a love for competitive puzzle solving.

Doing your own Search Engine Optimization can be pretty overwhelming when you think about it. Here is your website, competing against thousands, if not millions of other websites. So, how on earth can you compete? Well, to begin with, you are an expert about your products or services. That fact alone, should make you and your website more of an authority than the other 99% of the sites that show up in the search results when someone searches a word describing your product or service. In this video, Brad Gosse talks about why you should do your own

In this video, Brad Gosse and Wayne Peters discuss the possibility of making Twitter part of your business marketing strategy. Twitter is a platform to post your thoughts in 140 characters or less. The question of automation tools for Twitter is raised and its potential benefits and pitfalls of using such services.

Inbound Marketing

Not that long ago my wife and I bought a beautiful century old home. As first time home owners we needed lots of stuff for our landscaping chores such as a rake, a shovel, hose and other goodies. I went online to compare brands and prices for a grass trimmer. During my Google search I noticed one of the largest chain of hardware stores advertising in Google's paid search. My first reaction was: Why would they do that? They spend millions on their advertising through print, radio and television. Then it became clear to me.

Anyone Can Add You to a Facebook Group

I read an article this morning regarding Facebook's new Group feature. Groups have been overhauled and apparently Facebook users can add their friends to any group that they choose. Nothing really over exciting about this in terms of concerns. Why shouldn't your friend add you to a group? I think that is a great idea, if you receive a notification that you have been added to the group and you have to approve that. Unfortunately, this is not currently the case. You do not get a say in whether you appear in that group or not.

In the last 10 years, Blogging has literally become a full time business for some. Some people do it for a living, and some just for a hobby. I don't know the statistics, but it is probably safe to say there are several thousand, if not hundreds of thousands of blogs on the internet. This post isn't necessarily about blog related websites. It is more for blogs that are embeded within a website, such as this one. So, can a blog actually help your SEO efforts? Let's look a little closer.

Internet Explorer 9 - Taking a Step Backwards?

A few years ago, before computers had the power that they do today, I decided to take a bold leap, and change over all my software to Microsoft products. In hindsight, it was more like a surrender to Bill Gates. I know, I know, I should have bought a Mac. Regardless, I didn't, but I'm still not ruling it out someday! Anyhow, one of the main reasons at the time, were the various different conflicts between various different software applications.
