H1N1 - What's A Parent To Do?

So right now the biggest health issue in our country (and many others) is the H1N1 virus.

Everytime I open up a newspaper, listen to the radio or watch the news on tv, I am bombarded by images and stories about children and adults alike who are healthy and strong, dying from this epidemic.

I have never been more scared of anything in my life - especially for my children.

And we aren't that family who gets a regular flu shot every year. We believe in naturopathic answers like vitamins, eating right, exercise, etc.

Which made the decision to have both my children immunized with the H1N1 shot so difficult....

Thanksgiving Goal

For the past three months, I have been exercising 5 days/week and eating sensibly. My goal was to lose 20 pounds. Now that I've hit that goal - I am setting a new one.

I have officially entered myself in a 5K race in White Rock. It's been one of my dreams to run in a race and the one I have chosen is near and dear to my heart.....

My Favorite Children's Poems

I was recently sent a book to read from one of my own readers of my column. It is his first published book titled "My Favorite Children's Poems". The author's name is Samir Goel. The illustrations were done by Irene Joslin.

When I received it, I thought the best critic for a book like this would have to be my six-year old son who is a HUGE reader.
